How do you think NASA was influencing the ancient Greeks?
2
@KangenAlec In which case none of you should have a problem producing a FE map. Why can’t any of you do it?
2
@KangenAlec In which case why do you continue advocating FE?
2
Trade & travel require accurate maps. GPS & satellite TV require satellites in orbit.
2
@Globeisahoax And yet the observable motion of the sun & moon contradict your claims, ie., they rise & set, they maintain a constant angular diameter & velocity. How do you reconcile that with your claims?
2
@KangenAlec You insist that there is an impenetrable dome; how are you saying anybody could reach such lands to make use of them?
2
They differ according to location, rotate in the course of the night, change through the course of the year, “wobble” over the course of 20,000 years and the constellations change sufficiently over the course of 100,000’s years. What doesn’t fit with Earth being a globe?
2
@aaronwhite3058 The stars are very distant (the nearest 4 light years away and the visible stars are upto thousands of light years away, a light year being approximately 6 trillion miles) and are moving in the same general direction as the sun as the galaxy rotates. Given the sheer scale, changes require 100,000's of years to be readily apparent , not a few minutes.
2
@aaronwhite3058 "the alleged speed" Regardless of something's speed, the further away it is the slower it appears to move, i.e., it covers a narrower angle of view in a given time. The visible stars are trillions to quadrillions of miles away, not a few miles away.
2
Why would it be taking photos of Earth when the magnification, focus, exposure & orientation are for distant stars? EPIC, Himawari-8 & Elektro-L are designed for such shots and download several per hour, all available on line.
2
@Luke Skyballer I’m thinking of the Hubble. 🙁
2
How does the big guy lean on observable reality?
2
Motion if the sun, horizons, angle to Polaris matching latitude, constellations changing with latitude, two celestial poles and lunar eclipses having a circular shadow.
2
The expansion continues and can be traced backwards to a single point. Can you prove God exists?
2
@lmathews5608 "my very existence is evidence" That's presumption on your part, not evidence. Humans & chimps have a common ancestor; we didn't evolve from chimps. The two lines diverged over 10 million years ago. Homo sapiens has existed for c. 200,000 years which is a shorter period, not longer. "hot muddy soup to turn into tadpoles and worms" A few billion years which is a longer period still.
2
They just claim the sun only lights up a limited, misshapen area at a time for no reason they can come up with.
2
@imsavor They’ll give you more of the same but no answers.
2
@Globeisahoax Because none of you can produce anything to back it, just keep denying observable reality.
2
@luigicirelli2583 Rotation is oncd per day; 1000mph is a linear speed abd nothing rotates in a straight line. The atmosphere gradually built up on a rotating Earth and friction meant it rotated at the same speed as Earth. You do understand that multiple objects can move simultaneously, not just one? Where are you saying there is more than 24hrs in a day? Why would the atmosphere rush to the equator? What are arcadian cycles? The surface isn’t evenly heated. How do you think there is permafrost towards the poles?
2
@KangenAlec What would we gain?
2
@Globeisahoax Quite - you keep “telling” us but can provide absolutely nothing to back your claim.
2
@Globeisahoax While ignoring what Byrd actually said & did. Why do the “think for yourself” and “question what you’re told” crowd never think to question their gurus?
2
No, it’s a misconception of people who haven’t thought to ask how funding works.
2
@KangenAlec What’s your budget for prattling on about FE?
2
The video has been heavily edited to keep the illusion of balance.
2
If you want long distance travel & trade then you need accurate maps. You can’t make accurate maps without knowing the shape of the surface.
2
@KangenAlec We've known the Earth to be a globe since about 500BC, something that was deduced by the observations FE'ers assidiously avoid making, e.g., movement of the sun; a spherical Earth was the centrepoint of the Ptolemaic geocentric universe since about 100AD. 500 years was the shift from geocentric to heliocentric; nothing to do with a change in shape. "Dont know the basics of geocentric model" FE'ers don't know the basics of a FE. You can't answer any question put to you.
2
You’re just having problems envisaging how big 25,000 miles is.
2
Nobody has ever produced evidence to back that assertion. None of you have ever explained the material predating 1957 about the Earth being a globe.
2
There is a difference between belief and proof; the former is based on inspiration & revelation, the latter on facts & reason. The above video deals with facts; how somebody feels religiously is irrelevant to the matter.
2
@Globehoax You just told Albert Flores that telescopes exist; now you're denying them again. Can't decide?
2
A simpler dare would be to put a stock in the ground and track the angle of the sun or zoom the set sun back into view. None of them want to try either.
2
Jubilee cut out the one-way flow of scientific data.
2
@KangenAlec You still haven't produced any evidence of that.
2
@Globeisahoaxx A sphere means the light strikes at a more oblique angle with increasing latitude. Not difficult to comprehend.
2
@Globeisahoaxx You still havent said hiw yiu measured the distance to the FE sun. Why are you taking so long?
2
When they test any equations they either use the wrong equations to begin with or ignore competing factors.
2
@jameskirkpatrick2491 There’s no scientific evidence for a creator; religion is a matter of belief abd they don’t believe. The Earth coming into existence does not require a creator, just time and the observable laws of physics, so there is no reason to assume a creator.
2
The direct flights between southern continents bamboozle them.
2
@KangenAlec None of which you ever provide any evidence for.
2
@michaelobrien5891 FE’ers have no clue about scale; they play with P900 and think it quite possible to have the magnification to see satellites.
2
They visualise a 25-250 mile circumference when it comes to the globe; they have a very poor sense of scale.
2
@jerrynadler2883 The Law of Gravity simply states that the attraction is proportional to the product of the two masses and inversely proportional to the distance between the centre of masses; it offers no explanation as to why this attraction occurs. The Theory of Gravity is the explanation for the attraction, ie., distortion of space-time by a gravitational field. I assume you are trying to claim the change of mass at relativistic velocities is inconsistent with conservation of mass. Conservation of mass was replaced with conservation of mass-energy and both assume a closed system (no energy escaping, e.g., heat). The latter is consistent with the theory of relativity. Neither law explains why the mass or mass-energy would remain conserved; the theory of relativity does.
2
The problem was with the editing rather than moderation; the bulk of the discussion is absent.
2
And a millennium after the ancient Greeks deduced the Earth was a globe from observing the sun, moon & stars.
2
@KangenAlec Gleason azimuthal projection is a globe map.
2
@Globeisahoax You still haven’t explained why only a limited misshapen area. Youve had a year; how long do you need?
2
The loopier the subject then the more difficult it is to distinguish the two.
2
Watch Professor Dave's 10 Things All Flat Earthers Say. He runs through their reasoning or lack thereof.
2
pi = circumference/diameter. Are you proposing that circumference can divide itself by the diameter or do you understand that it is a mathematical description?
