Thats how the ancient Greeks deduced it and anybody can verify their observations. 2500 years on we are still waiting on FE’ers to produce their explanations.

  46.  @kyritsitonakis5802  The sun rises in the east, it crosses the sky at a fixed angular velocity, it sets in the west. The motion of the sun is observable every day by any sighted person. Its motion defines day & night. The length of day & night varies with latitude & date. FE has a sun either circling above & below a FE (the entire world would be in the same time zone and woyld have a fixed 12hr daytime) or circling in a horizontal orbit above the FE (the sun would never rise or set and its angular velocity would vary between observers). The Earth being a globe with a declined rotational axis and a distant sun predicts exactly what we see worldwide. A geostationary globe with the sun in an inclined orbit also predicts exactly what we see.

  47.  @kyritsitonakis5802  I should note that you can measure the angular velocity by placing an upright stick in the ground and marking the direction of the shadow at hourly intervals. The markers will be regularly spaced while the FE with horizontal solar orbit predicts greater spacing at midday and narrower spacing morning & evening.
