The amount of irreparable damage done by Donald Trump to the office of the Presidency of the U.S.A. calls for some severe limiting of the powers of future presidents lest they turn out to be like Trump. America, you simply cannot take that risk! Take a look at Australia's constitutional model. Our Governor-General only fulfills a ceremonial role at best. The REAL executive power in Australia is vested in the position of Prime Minister, and even then that power is held in check by cabinet and a bicameral system of House of Representatives(Lower House) and Senate(Upper House), both houses elected by compulsory popular vote of all citizens age 18 years or more.

  12. There should be NO party affiliation component. Automatic voter registration is almost an improvement but still not enough as you need to go to the next step, COMPULSORY VOTING because voting isn't so much a right as it is more a duty to your country. Also, electoral boundaries and the conduction of elections, from Federal down to State and local council level must be conducted by a statutory authority completely at several arms' length from either party so that neither party can influence the process. As the Repugnant Party will vote against this HR1 bill, it should require only the Democrat vote with Kamala Harris giving the tie-break vote as Vice-President. If America had compulsory voting, Trump could never have won in 2016 and those putrid candidates, Hawley, Taylor-Greene, Cawthorne and Loefler would've never won their seats either. The only reason they did win is because of the extreme right-wing voters which did cast votes for them. ("which" rather than "who" because extreme right-wingers are not human). Compulsory voting would've seen the votes for those repugnant candiates drowned out by votes for decent candidates.

Technically speaking, and in a normal situation, the onus of pardoning rests with the individual who issues a pardon to the court that has committed an injustice against that individual, for instance, in a wrongful arrest. If I were arrested for parking in a no-parking zone(as a hypothetical case) and it was proved that I was nowhere near that part of town where this act was supposed to have occurred, then I would have the power of pardon over the court that wrongfully convicted me of the illegal parking., Naturally enough, I would NOT pardon the court, but would instead seek full redress and compensation for the wrongful arrest. But this is NOT a normal situation. Trump has surrounded himself with criminals and charlatans who should be imprisoned for a very long time for their crimes, which have seemingly been proven in court, so they SHOULD NOT receive any kind of pardon whatsoever.

Registration to vote on turning 18 is a good idea, but not to vote in a given way(i.e.: to vote Democrat or Republican). Voting should be in person, not by mail. Voter suppression rackets MUST BE OUTLAWED! If the party, whichever one it is, is found guilty of voter suppression, the party is deregistered on the spot and barred from future elections WITHOUT RIGHT OF APPEAL! Two problems are clearly evident. 1) you CANNOT police who views your "masterpiece". A child of 6 years could be watching your video of your game-fishing trip, or OmarGoshTV's latest haunted house video, or my recent video of my visit to Sydney Tramway Museum. We have no way of knowing unless they write a comment and post it, but how many 6-year-olds are literate enough to do that? 2) You're shooting a video of an old steam traction engine trundling along a street, a 5-year-old girl might be riding on that engine, or she's in a crowd watching it go by and your camera picks her up in the course of trying to get a good shot of the engine. You don't want to scrap the shot just because a kiddie inadvertently got in the shot, it's something over which you have no control. But what's YouTube going to do? Take your video down because that kid showed up? That would be a grossly unfair move on YouTube's part.

Perhaps America should LOSE its right to run its own elections and instead have them run by Australia, under the Australian method, which is standardised right across the country.
