Who remembers the story about the guy who went to London and became mayor. His name was Dick Whittington or similar. Sadiq just seems to be a Dick.
1
@boblazar1976 Your last bit doesn't make sense in the context of the issue I raised.
1
@boblazar1976 Many are criminals and are not going about seeking asylum in the correct way. Why do they not stop in France where they would be safe? Others are certainly not seeking asylum as they are coming from safe places.
1
All this from a guy who has been paid (note not "earned") far more than many people who follow him on here EARN in a lifetime!
1
Negative stereotyping! What a load of twaddle. Before Maggie sold off the loony bins he would have been locked up in one.
1
@syryder3236 Innocent in whose mind?
1
They ruined Oliver's Army to. Not heard the original version of Brown Sugar for a while either.
1
Why don't some angry yobs on jet skis (ie most of them) intercept and disrupt the crossings?
1
Many of the people coming across are not fleeing anything.
1
It is pretty grim here in Brittany at present!
1
@roviwoteap2375 Strange as it might sound, the weather is different in different parts of Britain. Everyone knows it is always cold and wet north of the Watford Gap.
1
@seamusmcevoy2011 A very strange comment to make (the sort of thing a paranoid nutter might make) when someone makes a simple and accurate observation. Our garden got so dry in June that I had to use the hose to save the fruit bushes. I guess you probably don't know much about gardening though.
1
@seamusmcevoy2011 I know full well that the weather in June is always good as that is when my birthday is. I really wish some idiots on here would not immediately take offence to someone stating simple facts, but I guess weed does things like that to you.
1
@seamusmcevoy2011 I think you have learnt a knew word from You Tube - "narrative". It must have been hard for someone from your background to understand what it really means.
1
@NatMart9394 Or like yourself oblivious to why someone might make a simple statement of fact rather than fall at the feet of a multimillionaire sweaty sock who says what they have been conditioned to want to hear.
1
@nancyfriend4156 That is pretty warm for so far north, last I heard there was still snow on the ground.
1
@NatMart9394 Talking about yourself is not good!
1
@jonathanj.7344 I suspect that Mr 5350 is not particularly bright and far too obsessed with pretending to be clever.
1
@mikeg2939 Maybe he ran before the truth came out? We all know what the BBC is notorious for?
1
@Lee-cz7ht But it always rains up there most of the time.
1
@fromSpringfield Using a great variety of colours is simply dumbing down for the younger generations to understand. This is what has destroyed much of the BBC output. Only idiots would see the red areas and assume it was scaremongering.
1
@Petal4822 In the early 1800s there was was a mini iceage as everyone should remember from history which caused a number of issues including crop failure in parts of Europe. I find it funny that this time is often quoted as the datum point from which climate change/ global warming.
1
@malpreece5008 Many of the wild fires in the UK are the result of arson but in moorland areas they are often the result of mismanagement by the RSPB and similar do-gooder organisations.
1
@markpalmer8083 No, it just shows you have some dumb friends.
1
@Lee-cz7ht As you state it is just weather. The average temperature may have been creeping slowly since the mini iceage but that is what happens in the great cycle of things.
1
@nightmaresturningoftendejavue Who reported that and where? I certainly didn't hear anything about that, mind you, my only contact with the modern world is limited internet access.
1
I wonder what Adolf thought of bankers?
1
I really cannot grasp how pathetic people have become in the UK that they find a mildly funny micky taking advert so upsetting. It really beggars belief.
1
@educatethemonster6198 Are you good at maths? What does 4x2 equal (& it isn't 8!).
1
@educatethemonster6198 I hate war as it just makes rich unscrupulous people richer at the expense of ordinary people. In the days when the king was in the thick of it with his rich knights it was about winning land or power but it still affected the ordinary people more.
1
Only for those who wish to control the world, aka the Elite.
1
Has it dawned on anyone else or is it just me? There seems to be a number of former highly respected and trusted xmembers of society like Mr Oliver who everyone one knew and respected (some even did so when he sold out to doing voice overs for adverts) that have mysteriously "changed sides" so to speak. Could it be that this is not quite what it seems and is infact part of a bigger plot to divide and conquer the public?
1
"The government murdering our kids " WTF DOES THAT COME FROM.
1
I would like to know what the situation is in France regarding knife crime. They don't seem to worry about what types of knives are openly sold, even on the local street markets. One of the most famous French knife makers even makes a special edition for youngsters with a picture of two young lads on the box.
1
I am not sure that I can respect what anyone who has a platted beard says?
1
What happens when these two guys get accused of things that they might not have done.
1
Sorry, but I didn't realise Jim had been.
1
That his life was cut short through his own stupidity is beyond doubt. Just the same as the situation in Paris. Where the police shot the Brazilian on the train, they and their boss should all have been charged but in most cases they should not be.
1
What really gets me about these dodgy, pikey, till dipping tax evaders who seem stuck in the last century is the way they will blast past you at twice the speed limit, push in front of you at the petrol pump then take forever filling their willy substitutes before waddling their bloated bodies to the counter to pay with their grubby notes in the time most sensible people would have filled up, paid at the pump and been home. What makes it even worse is that I suspect half of them are not taxed or insured and / or are banned from diving!
1
All down to entitled parents and their spoilt brats.
1
It all started with Maggie selling off the family silver to her mates. She came to power by making promises guaranteed to appeal to just the right percentage of people to win an election. That percentage is only around 33% !
1
What has a TV journalist like Neil got to do with science? Archeology is just guess work after all. When you think how corporate he became doing voice overs for TV commercials!
1
@DBiggaFigga666 Trying to run a copper down in a large powerful car is pretty much attempted murder and quite likely would have been if he had not been popped.
1
@DBiggaFigga666 The incident on the train was truly shocking and completely inexcusable. In fact, by shooting him they increased any risk to the public. There woman in charge of the operation should also have been prosecuted but instead went on to be promoted. The two incidents have nothing in common.
1
@DBiggaFigga666 The two cases are so different in so many ways. In the first one the victim was not even of the same race or vague appearance as the guy they were supposed to be after. They should have tackled him much earlier away from crowded places and had they apprehended the right guy alive, they could have got useful information from him (and I would not rule out torture in a case like that! ). In the second case the lad was driving a car known to have been involved in a firearm incident and was driving dangerously to escape the police. He is then reported to have tried to run down the officer which instantly indicates guilt and amounts to attempted murder. The officer being charged with murder was just political.
1
@jimmyfaulkner5746 I would never even think of putting myself in such a situation from the start.
1
@DBiggaFigga666 Yes, the police should always be accountable for their actions, just like anyone else in society. The main thing is that when the family saw the bodycam footage they changed their minds. There is a real worry that the jury might easily be swayed by a dodgy lawyer and worse still they might not strictly be "of his (the coppers) peers" as they are supposed to be and could easily have very biased views. I cannot recall how many jurors can be rejected, but it can make a huge difference to the outcome.
1
@DBiggaFigga666 By the term a jury of your peers, it means those of a similar background to you. Just imagine if you were up in court for wife beating and the jury were all men of a faith where that is acceptable? Now think about the demographic in parts of London!
1
@DBiggaFigga666 I am not suggesting for one minute that he should be judged by fellow officers nor just by white folk. There is a risk though that his jury could consist of enough vocal people who were closer socially to the criminal who got shot trying to run down the officer than would make for a fair trial.
1
Why didn't the guy who was complaining do something about it himself? How do you know that the voices were not added after the video was made?
