yer way too late. aristotle boiled politics down to 2 words: "who decides?"
when the people decide, through referendum and initiative, you live in a democracy, and are citizens.
but you don't decide, it's not a democracy, and you are only civilians.
you should know this, but you don't. no accident, your schools are training camps.
worse yet, you don't have the community spirit that would bond you together to overthrow the elite. that's no accident either.
freedom! freedom! freedom! if you worship freedom, you are alone, and alone you can do nothing in politics. the greeks called such people 'idiots'

a sane and ethical jew! who knew?!
the original invaders, with ben gurion and jabotinsky, were clear about what they were doing. "we're strong, you're weak, flee or die!" in order to do that, you have to re-classify your victims as sub-human, not entitled to life or property. from there, only hatred can arise, in response to contempt and oppression.
once you are on the tigers back, it is dangerous to get off, or so it seems. that hatred is a wound spring.
it's been done, in south africa, in the usa, with mixed results.
but israel has a special problem, widespread sympathy for the nazi crime, and usa support as a base in the middle east, makes apartheid seem viable, long after other conditions would have compelled some equitable settlement. 'equitable' is perhaps too kind, israel should not exist. but it does, so let's move on, as best we can.
i recommend the creation of a secular state of palestine, directed by a u.n. agency, charged with unwinding property and building a workable administration. human tights violations have to be ignored. otherwise no hope of peace.
this would entail the dissolution of israel. however well deserved, seems unlikely.
but what else will cure the israeli situation.
