Nah Ethiopia is not really poor there hasn't been a real famine in Ethiopia for the last century its was just a way to make the government look weak to hide all the sh1t they have been doing tbh Ethiopia is one of if not the most fertile country in africa and their are more cattle and livestock in Ethiopia than any place in africa farmers who are viewed as poor probably have hundreds or thousands of camels and cattle Ethiopia(more specifically the ex Ethiopian government)has been actively making chaos in many African countries one time they attacked the somalia and overthrew the government most people didn't hear about it because it was done by permission from the west but this the reason why Ethiopias neighbors are in chaos and why Eritrea is pretty isolated

Ethiopia needs to abandon rainfed agriculture and completely (mostly) focus on irrigation but the problem with that is most of Ethiopia is rugged and mountainous making it unsuitable for irrigation , if Ethiopia wants to overcome the problem the government needs to shift agriculture from the mountainous central regions into the flatlands in the east (afar and somali region) and convince the population to eat more animal products (having the largest livestock population in the continent and not using it for consumption is unwise management of resources ).

  6.  @فهميكتاني  the tplf (which used to control the northern part)was the only ones that tried to challenge the government and as u see it took only 3 weeks to destroy them and take their capital and most of the leaders are killed btw Fyi the somali region has stopped its separatist movement 2 years ago when the government signed a peace deal with onlf the somali region is currently the biggest supporter of the government ,with tplf out if the picture who could possibly defeat the government i mean tplf was thought to be invincible

  11.  @cupanodensetsu2420  Ethiopia would've won any way the only reason they didnt expand is because Europeans blocked industrialization from them and britian actually attacked Ethiopia and killed one of its emperors (tweodros)who was making great reforms even making his own weapons and canons from scratch he inspired minilk since he was his father figure with out the British intervention he wouldn't have died giving Ethiopia much more time to expand and industrialize, egypt had a shit of an army not because of lack of guns they failed to even capture the nomadic north eastern afars of Ethiopia which wasnt under protection by the emprors which means egypt lost against literal nomads who fought wih swords while egypt had many guns and many officers from different p countries the mahadists were fans of Ethiopia thewodros used to support them immensely only the later empror(yohannes) who was a extremist Christian ruined the relation by marching to sudan to free egyptian soldiers who were captured by mahadists in exchange for britain giving back both Eritrea and Northern somalia and he succeeded, he was betrayed later on the another battle field like he did with tweodros all the people he persecuted joined the mahadists and beheaded him

  12.  @cupanodensetsu2420  i want to add another thing Ethiopia is a very mountainous country 70% of africas mountains are located in Ethiopia egypt wouldnt have power to conquer such a mountainous country while italy a much more industrialized nation tried and failed ,every invading power attacked Ethiopia from its low lands in the eastb and eritrea including egypt ,tana is located in the north west around the most rugged mountains its the most defended area that's why egypt didnt try to invade from there in our time line its like how italy tried to conquer france from the alps even with the nazis kicking france left and right italy couldn't brake through the alps , unification with egypt didnt even cross the minds of the Sudanese if egypt didn't conquer them by force thats not possible nobody gives away their independence so easily , and what ever Europe was doing to weaken egypt they were doing it more to Ethiopia so no Ethiopia would've won either way

  29. Northeast africa can feed the whole continent they are becoming food secure so maybe they will replace grain from russia,ukraine,.. Just look at Ethiopia,sudan or egypt large countries with ample supplies of water and good land , egypt might not make it but the other two have potential because they are relatively untouched.

It sounds far fetched to say italy would've let Ethiopia brake off in the end ,i mean who in his right mind would give away a large mineral rich fertile land like Ethiopia brake off its also the source of the nile so even if Egypt tries to get independent italy could've made the nile its hostage(mussolini actually planned on making a large dam to take the nile hostage to indirectly but control egypt but he lacked the money for it), Ethiopia is diverse all italy needs to do is separate the muslims from the Christians ethnic genocide is also on the table and also Ethiopia is very mountainous and has a very similar climate to that of italy italian farmers would've settled in large numbers and would've made the country at least quarter- roughly half ethnically italian and the other quarter would've been mixed plus jewish (mussolini planned on making a jewish home land in Ethiopia ) and would've made the remaining natives speak italian (because italian was the only language that was thought in italian colonies ) i serious doubt the natives could've made a big difference they were not consecrated in a specific place they were scattered all around the country they didn't even speak the same language where would they get military training or coordination all italy needed to do was eliminate the larger ethnic groups and the rest wouldn't try fighting if italy treats them well i mean i ma sure the muslims werre not big fans of a Christian emperor

Ethiopia, e.a.f , the megrib and the cape are bound to be industrialized by the coming decades its not even up for debate really the E.A.F might not succeed but the Ethiopia and the magreb for example have been (historicaly speaking) strong and continuous civilization Ethiopia is literally 3000 years old only declined (but didnt collapse)because of islam after 2000+ years of prosperity ,they still kept their centralized civilization until it started shaking apart and retracting 16th century onward (still didnt collapse but lost territory)but it still shows how resilient they are under constant pressure they will get back on their feet because everyone around them is either a failed or a weak state whose existence is tide toncontinuous western aid the megrib has seen countless civilization like Carthage,andalusia,... these civilization always spring up and there hasnt been a single time in history where they didnt have at least one decent civilization with the exception of the roman era both are meant to succeed and like they had for thousands of years so I don't see a reason why they wont do it again I cant speak for the rest of Africa since they artificial countries their existence isnt justified

All thanks to the eritrean government they closed all universities,killed a bunch of people,opened a bunch of prisons,f**ked the economy by messing with Ethiopia,and oppressed most of its population the people started leaving the country to the extent that their population went from 5,5million to 3million and in a few decades and even now its rapidly declining hundreds of thousands of them are actually taking refuge in Ethiopia plus i don't even think Eritrean soldiers would fight for a government which did all of this to them and the Ethiopian military is wayy more superior to the Eritrean military the only ally Eritrea can get is Egypt and because Ethiopia has control over Egypts water supply i doubt they would intervene another thing is america is not fond of Eritrean neither is russia nor turkey the only allies they had were the arabs which are now siding with Ethiopia especially uae (Eritreas second biggest supporter after Egypt ),another thing is most Eritreans post ethio-eritrean war infrastructure was destroyed in the ethio-eritrean war and never rebuilt while Ethiopia is literally one of the fastest growing countries in Africa Eritrea pretty much f**ked up but i don't think there will be a war at least if the dictator in Eritrea stays in power, Ethiopia and Eritrea are normalizing their relationship which i think is both good and bad for Ethiopia time will tell but if Ethiopia wants to conquer Eritrea they should do it in the next few years i think its the best time and it would be even better if foreigners don't intervene especially america
