  5. The salt lake valley was empty. Their was a settlement on Utah lake and we traded with them frequently and over the years the Native culture has remained a big part of our culture. This place isn't like Organ where grass just comes out of the ground. No one could live here until irrigation.

  9.  @DannyAGray  well said. It interesting that people hate Joseph. My grandpa's grandpa lived with Joseph and his sister Lucy was one of Joseph's wives. Everyone that new Joseph personally knew his caricature, not perfect but a really good man. Oliver's account of fanny is from his son's point of view. Even Oliver came back to the church, that is saying something. People hate President Nelson. It's crazy to me. I listen to them pick apart his talks and all I can think is these are the same arguments People would make to crucify Jesus.

  20. Yes not sufficient as attested by the confusion and 42K denominations. Is it also possible that Constinen was a false prophet and came as a wolf in sheep's clothing? I would read the book of Mormon for yourself than make and informed prayerful decision.

  21.  @ashleys637  they tell me with their mouth parts that they are unhappy, we talk regularly we're family. 2 out of the 3 have attempted to unalive themselves. Not sure what i tell myself matters with their level of health and happiness.

  29. Also of note, at a time Brigham Young didn't let some wagon trains pass because they would just Shoot Indians. You should remember that in our faith all people are God's children and that we look at everyone as our brothers and sisters. One of the first missions in our church was to Native peoples.

  39. Wrong. We actually didn't let some wagon trains pass because they killed indigenous peoples. Our first mission was to indigenous peoples. No one lived in the SL valley. There was a settlement on Utah lake and we had a great relationship.

  43. Islam is a mix of Christianity and Judaism. Jeff took a group that was isolated, and Isolated them more and controlled them more. Muhammad's group worked more on expansionism by force than Isolationism.

I think you may be thinking about something else. this state had the first state women vote. also the first member of Congress was a woman who was polygamous who was my children's gggreat-grandmother. Also the most highly educated group of women compared to other cohorts in their demographics.

Or our version. Their is a God(s) and they are progressing the universe to a better state. And that life has actual meaning.
