  26. It is always a good idea not to answer any questions. But far too many people tell the officer they are not going to answer any questions but they keep on babbling on! You don't need to ask for a lawyer or the supervisor. All you are required to do is provide your drivers license, insurance card and vehicle registration. If the officer asks anything else, inform him you do not wish to answer any questions.

  44. It is not an arrest.....it is a detainment. During a traffic stop, you are being detained while the officer conducts the investigation. The detainment ends when the traffic stop ends. Don't break the law and you won't be stopped!
