  6. I guess it's a little late to ask him, but depending on his views, he might have preferred to go out with his dad then live the rest of his life without him. Of course they both left a grieving family behind, and I'm not sure even the father can be faulted (I assume they didn't speak directly to the engineer when he spoke out about the safety features) but I have a small grain of hope that he took comfort in being with his dad in his final moments.

You can have the "correct positions" and hate both, but in the real world, if Ukraine is not turned into (let's be honest) a military outpost of the US, it will be one for Russia. If you reject hegemonic expansion, you must accept the only alternative, Russian expansion. Without the consent of both Russia and the US, Ukraine could never become neutral. People on some level recognize this, and their views follow accordingly.

Not only are they French if they're citizens, but their being Arab isn't uniquely correlated with violence in this case. Everyone's rioting, not just them. As for the police state, they could just work faster to get the officers tried. That would quell some of it. Notice how after Georgia Floyd, the next officer that shot a black person actually got fired? And not relocated on paid leave like always? Force works. Keep the cops in line.

Seems like both examples fall along the same lines. The only difference I can see is that Taiwan isn't militarily occupying China. But, do you really think that's because they don't want to? He's a right-wing personality, debating people not for the sake of debate itself, but to promote his ideology. I can't recall when Crowder said he debates as an art form. So for a different person to debate the same exact topics, seems in line with what he'd have wanted to do with Ethan anyway. I don't see any breach here. What substantively changes?   21. As someone who lives there, what do you want to see as a stable solution? I understand that the 1948 borders would effectively cripple either nation (a bunch of enclaves and 0 cohesion) although they would be the most fair, if we are considering the Palestinians and Israelis as 2 equal parties. But I also know, just as you do, that we can't have a single Palestine anymore, nor should we have a single Israel kicking out or killing the remaining Palestinians. So, what are your thoughts?

Britain saw itself as the separate island of the coast of Europe, meant to keep any single European power from getting too strong and threatening its own interests. America sees itself in the exact same way, but on a larger scale. Europe will often see itself in a similar way, for example the huge coalition that formed against Russia to stop it from getting access to the Mediterranean by defeating the Ottoman Empire.

They wanted to keep as much of their profits as possible, even if it meant angering the British Empire. The United States of America is, fundamentally, not a place in of itself, not a country, but a territory for wealthy people to live on and exploit. It was that in 1776, through slavery, sharecropping, neoslavery, industrialization, trusts, the Marshall Plan, the Cold War, the tech boom, the rise of social media, and everything in between. The country was founded by capital, for capital.

Not a great solution, but compared to what we had in the 1990s (with the US at its peak, facing a post-USSR existential crisis and destroying the Middle East) it is at least providing smaller states with the chance that their larger neighbor will not manipulate or occupy them (Haiti, Mexico; Azerbaijan, Finland) because there is an alternative to turn to. That is actually what has kept Russia on relatively equal terms with Azerbaijan; Turkey as an alternative economic option. The greater the imbalance of power, the greater potential for abuse. Of course, this does not account for perceived imbalance of power, as in Ukraine right now (2014 may have given Russia the wrong impression, that the rest would be just as easy), but generally if the state perceives correctly, and there are too many large states that can be called upon, large states will stop exerting their force so much.

Ofc no one's completely correct, but I was asking why Crowder wouldn't debate Seder— if he's advertising his ideology as true, 'rhetorical decency' shouldn't be an obstacle for him. His ideas (from his pov) are true, no matter who he's discussing with, right? So 'no one's view is 100% true' didn't answer whether Crowder was claiming to be ideologically correct, and shifted to whether it was genuinely true. Why do that instead of just addressing Crowder's flaw in his justification? That avoidance suggests either a misunderstanding of my original question, or intentional dodging— hence my conclusion, that you didn't object to my original assertion about Crowder not caring about truth but rhetoric instead, and just wanted to move on.
