I've driven a 991.1 Carrera 4, and I agree with you on the whole "tight" feeling of these cars. They just feel so precise and feelsome - not numb in spite of the EPAS. I'd love to have a 991 as a third car for weekend mountain runs.

Fortunately the one I drove was a 2016, so it had paddles. 😂

@gunmenow The 350 is decently quick. It lives in that weird world between slow-car-fast and actually fast.

More people need to watch this. What an absolute adventure.

Gotta get out the cassette tapes for this one! This truck definitely brings back some memories. My folks had a GMC Suburban - possibly a 1997 or 1998 - before moving on to a 2002 Yukon XL shortly after that because they needed even more seats than what we had in the Suburban. I don't remember a whole lot about the Suburban other than cramming into the back on longer trips with my Game Boy ready to go with Pokemon or Wario Land loaded up, as well as being picked up from school.

@TedwardDrives Upsetting, period!

@TedwardDrives It'd be funny if Mercedes brought back the R-class. I'd love to see a modern AMG version of that.

I like the discussion on steering weight and feel. It has a dramatic impact on my confidence behind the wheel. Cars I've driven lately that come to mind for having great steering would be the Genesis G70 and the Jaguar F-Pace. Both cars had nicely weighted steering - not heavy for the sake of it, but solid - and had some semblance of feedback. I wish more cars steered like that. A lot of cars I drive are super light with their steering while also being quick, which makes them feel overboosted.

@DatFinnishGuy What an original comment, I've never seen this really actually funny joke before, amazing job 11/10

That is not bad at all for gas mileage! I think my old GLI would get mid-30s on the highway, and it was a DSG car, too. Of course, fuel economy is not a priority for me since I work from home, but I can appreciate a fun car with good fuel mileage. I just took my IS 350 on a weekend trip and was essentially just driving 75-80 MPH for six hours, and I only managed to get about 32 MPG on the way out and 29 on the way back. It does sting a little bit to do that mid-trip fuel stop. Incidentally, my brother has a 2019 Civic hatchback with the 1.5 turbo and CVT, and I happened to see on his dash while I was visiting him on this trip that he had been averaging about 41 MPG as well. That's simply amazing for a daily driver that's purely ICE-powered that also isn't a tiny subcompact. He is thinking about upgrading into the new Civic, and I have approved of this idea.

This car sounds really cool. Big American V8 + turbo whoosh is fun.

@TedwardDrives yeah seems like those tires didn't appreciate the heat!

@DatFinnishGuy Maybe stop spamming every comment with this garbage.

@DatFinnishGuy Don't.

@DatFinnishGuy Maybe post something of actual insight or value instead of parroting the same thing thousands of other people have said.

@DatFinnishGuy If you get off to making people mad, you need to find a video game to play or a real car to drive.

You could always move to the South. :) I run my IS 500 all year. I don't even bother with winter tires. I'll just borrow the wife's car if I need to go somewhere when it's below freezing outside.

A big luxury sedan with a V-8 is a special thing, no matter whether it's from 2005 or 2015.
