  10. One of my roommates (white woman) went to Detroit once. She told me they had bulletproof windows in the banks, grocery stores, and Greyhound stations. At one point, while riding in a car, her black friend told her to duck to the floor. This was in the '80s!

  17. Back when East Palo Alto was still a ghetto, a man was murdered in the section called Whiskey Gulch which contained 2 gas stations. Though the city was murder capital of the US a few years before, they had the decency to permanently close both stations. The fact that Detoilet didn't do the same says a lot about how corrupt it is.

I'm a black woman, and don't live anywhere near a slum like this. I watch these videos to be grateful I'm not stuck in such a hellhole. I love America, and do my best to add positivity to it.
