Or the ones where native americans agreed to sell land to European settlers, but then suddenly decided that america was "their land" and decided to slaughter white settlers en masse because they were doing so much better technologically and agriculturally than the natives did?   12. I didn't study spanish in the U.S. I think class was pretty good though, since our teacher was from Chile. The wierd thing is, even though I didn't put much effort into spanish class, and can't say I could really hold a conversation, I still got a pretty good grade. I later found out that apparently my teacher was in love with my pronounciation and gave me a better grade because of it. :S I guess my approach to language is a bit unconventional. I basically parrot the way native speakers sound, before getting into what the hell i'm actually saying. :D

  13. Honestly, schools are terrible at teaching language. The best educational aid you'll ever find is local movies and television series spoken in the local language, but with subtitles in your own language. That's how I learned 90 percent of all my english and did so several years before the other kids in class because I loved watching Star Wars, Alien, Predator, The Terminator and Big Trouble in Little China as a boy. Just find some of those mexican soap operas or something with english subtitles if you can, and you'll be well on your way to learn spanish, if you don't have a hispanic friend to help you.

  14. Oh man. If I had the money I'd buy up so much dead peoples property in Japan and just sit on it for a decade or two, while keeping the places clean and functioning. After 20-30 years, everyone will have forgotten about what happened in the property and you'll be able to sell it at a huge profit.

Meanwhile, in a democracy people have rights. HUMAN rights which not even the government is allowed to violate. Nor can the majority "vote" away those rights. Part of those rights include protection for minority groups. But no minority group has any protection in China. Which is why the psychotic monsters in the Chinese government can engage in ethnic cleansing of the Uyugr minority. All according to Adolf Hitlers playbook. Nazi germany got what was coming to them in the end though. And so will the monster that is China..

  20. The sad thing is, it's not so much about being "forgetful" as it is about not being taught in the first place. Please keep in mind that the japanese educational system often gloss over or flat out ignore teaching about the atrocities commited by past governments. Most japanese people are kept completely ignorant of what happened. This is a mistake of the japanese government and they should start teaching the truth. But try to keep it in mind if you criticize japan in front of regular japanese citizens. Their reactions most likely stem from a position of ignorance. If they knew more about what really happened, then they probably wouldn't react as defensively.

  21. Radical suggestion perhaps: but I think laws should be passed that certain jobs should only be eligible to the elderly. Meaning if you are below a certain age, you shouldn't be allowed to do certain kinds of jobs. Jobs like office work, IT, accounting, bureaucratic and administrative positions in general. With old age the body tends to be more fragile, but for most elderly people aside from the unfortunate individuals afflicted with disease, the mind is still perfectly intact. And the elderly have something that the young does not possess: experience. I see no reason why a 20-something should spend his or her days as a stock broker, or IT-tech support worker, wasting away when they, by virtue of being young could perform so much better in labour jobs. Construction, sanitation, assembly line work, automechanic work, service jobs. These should be the kind of jobs that young people should be steered towards. That way, plenty of positions of employment for the elderly, that the elderly can actually perform, despite their fragile bodies will open up. Also, legislation should consider a nationwide reduction in the allowed working hours per day that companies can employ people for the administrative jobs, in order to maximize the corporate need for elderly and experienced people to fill these positions.

When your country is ruled by a communist party, and you're not even allowed to vote for any other party: your country is a dictatorship by default. All communism is evil. All dictatorships are evil. There is no changing this. I don't care how much "make-up" the chinese try to paint their country with. The common citizens are still just slaves to the communist party. They don't use those individuals as sole representatives for the country and make this very clear both in the beginning and near the end of each video.

Just because western societies bred dogs to be pets, it doesn't mean that ALL societies bred dogs to be pets exclusively. Some societies treat dogs as food, and that's no more horrid than treating cows and pigs as food. Judging other societies for eating different animals than you is hypocritical on so many levels.

Not a servant to every person in the world. Trumps idea of America first is completely just and in accordance with the ideals of democracy.   33. I'm happy to see that the locals are as unafraid as they are. Nuclear energy is very beneficial and ironically one of the most "clean" ways to generate electricity compared to burning coal and the like. And I really hate how fear-mongerers across the world try to stigmatize nuclear power as much as they do. More research and improvements to nuclear reactors mean that there's less nuclear waste to store. And with the fourth generation of reactors developed, you can actually use spent fuel that we previously regarded as mere nuclear waste and use it one more time to get more energy, and even less nuclear waste from it than before. This is an goal worth pursuing. But many enviromentalist groups try to put a stop to it, mostly out of irrational fear rather than genuine knowledge of the science involved. That said, i'm not entirely sure that nuclear reactors is very good for Japan overall. You just have too much problems with earthquakes as it is, and a nuclear reactor needs a solid and stable foundation to be able to operate safely. So in Japan, it might be for the best to pursue other methods of energy production. Although I suppose Japan could buy land in foreign countries, located more centrally on a tectonic plate (where earthquakes are less of an issue) and install nuclear reactors over there and using conduits back to Japan to transfer the electricity.

  37. Why would the south korean government have to spend a lot of tax payers money to develop North Korea? All the government has to do is push for legislation that make private business investments in North Korea as profitable as possible, and the private sector will be more than happy to make the investments. The North Korean people is plagued by poverty and destitution and will probably be more than happy to work hard for decent wages in order to improve their country and economy so there's an enormous workforce to utilize for the task at hand.

  38. I owned a Huawei phone before. But I stopped using it because of Huaweis shady, close ties to the Chinese government. I do not want to financially support a government that massacres it's own citizens as a means to censor them, and that actively spies on their own citizens with the intent to strip them of rights if they express critical views of their government. As long as there are chinese citizens who feel unsafe to speak their minds freely within their own country out of fear of what their government might subject them to, then I will not support it.

  41. Well, keep in mind though. "Making fun of" someone is not necessarily a hostile action in many cultures in the world. So there's not always evil intent behind it. Like how close knit friends can joke at eachothers expense. They don't do it because they dislike eachother (most of the time). They do it because they like eachother. It's a way to defuse eachothers differences through making fun of them, rather than going around and dislike the differences. But this practice doesn't translate well into every culture in the world. Which can cause misunderstandings and hurt feelings.

  42. Yes, China will most likely sell their cellphones to other countries. But the U.S market is one of the top markets in the world that every company on the planet wants access to. If you get barred from trading in the U.S, it will hurt you financially and stunt the growth of your company. So any company facing a ban in the U.S market will feel the reprecussions and would be incentivized to change their course.

China is a totalitarian dictatorship that closely monitors the activities of it's citizens, both at home and abroad. But that doesn't mean that ypu should allow your native language to atrophy like this. It's the key to understanding your ancestors.   49. I'm not sure I agree with the idea of offering compensation for things that happened far in the past. One has to remember that compensation paid today, would be paid with tax payers money of today. But the people alive today were not complicit in the crimes of the past. Most of them weren't even born back then so they had no way at all to influence or put a stop to those crimes. Just to put things in perspective: Let's say that Japan planned to build a childrens hospital for helping children diagnosed with cancer. Would it really be fair to abolish those plans just to use the money (paid by present day japanese citizens) to give to Koreans as a token of atonement for crimes that the past Japanese government did during the early 1900's? I do agree that the government should acknowledge the crimes and offer a formal apology for what happened. Maybe erect a monument in a public place IN JAPAN in honour of the victims, instead of trying to avoid discussion about the issue or not even teaching their high school students about what happened. But when you drag money into the mix, the whole issue becomes infected and just sets an odd moral precedent. As if you can simply "buy" your way out of guilt from terrible crimes, by bribing the victims (or the descendants of the victims) I don't believe money would settle the issue as much as a more cultural and intellectual acknowledgement would.

  50. Where I live, this stereotype is more about Chinese than Koreans. However, I don't have a problem with them eating dog meat, since I find it strange to give some animals preferential treatment over others. My problem with the Chinese is the fact that they treat dogs and other animals really badly, like skinning animals alive or ripping fur straight from the skin of the animal screaming in pain, putting animals in tiny, restrictive cages etc. These animals are losing their lives for you to eat, as well as wearing their fur and hides. The least you can do is treat the animal with some dignity and respect, as well as giving the animal a painless death first. But the Chinese seem to enjoy torturing animals for fun.
