When the law appeases criminals at the expense of the lawful, what remains the purpose of remaining lawful.
245
😂 He'll laugh them right out of the building.
227
When the law of the land appeases the criminal at the expense of the abiding, to what purpose remains to abide.
70
Agreed. I mean if I'm to refrain from subduing a potential threat to my family then I have no time or patience for the daft c you next Tuesday who came up with it.
68
I've a better alternative - let them go subscription based or take on adverts - nobody with any sense CARES if it goes under.
68
We've already been sold out - establishment is simply changing the context.
66
I ask similar questions to all organised charities - lot of people getting paid...
55
As having been a security guard in retail myself i can contribute - at least regarding myself and those who I've worked with; we have to be 100 percent certain that the culprit has committed the act and have the evidence via footage to prove it. If there's any reasonable doubt, or the footage doesn't exist past circumstantual reasoning, then there is no grounds to approach.
50
@johnallen7807 And you think Reform will do any different... this worship of a party that those opposing the status quo have is astounding. You're in for some disappointment.
43
As i also like to say "Democracy is dictatorship being polite."
40
There's only one person who can stand up for my rights: I see him in every reflection. You'll find the same in regards to yours like everyone else for theirs.
34
Justifiably so.
23
@Bugsy85 Cause he's obeying his masters like any other in his position will. It means nothing to him - the dull masses will keep voting anyway.
21
"Harmful to the environment" That bs has made reason number one of three, for the day to justify my embrace of misanthropy. The idiocy of these pretentious tree huggers.
20
Let the Canadians have him for a while - Charlie has the position in the commonwealth: let his little bastard stepson spend his time there.
16
@Dylanesque coming into the country via a lorry or a dinghy without a visa or citizenship, constitutes as being illegal mate and these people are. And he's earned it? For what, questioning people and likely got a little close to one with too many fingers in too many pies as it were? I'm not the biggest Belfield fan but even I can point out a blatant silencing when I see one; those caught with certain illegal content have been sentenced far more leniantly.
14
I'd make a joke about this, but it's provided it's own punchline...
13
Don't you know? The public have been putting them in power since the system was established - regardless of party.
13
@philhawley1219 "Better quality" he says. 😂 A puppet of the system is a puppet all the same regardless of party.
12
@LuxFerre4242 And you know what Reform will do? Exactly what Labour and Tory have done - EXACTLY what they're told.
12
@Simonsimon-fy3hq I'm disappointed in the fact that after all this - the public still hasn't learned.
11
Welcome to the group. Now just lose all confidence in the political system as well and you're well on your way to start getting things done right for yourself - as I say to everyone.
11
Not only allows them, but actively encourages it.
11
"Individuals do not have the power, that belongs to the government and so on" annnnd that just about shows the illusion of "democracy" now doesn't it.
11
@LickorishAllsorts I don't know - the amount of people I find who whine about the system and yet keep lining up to tick the box anyway.
9
@asambrook76 they're looking for obedience.
8
And people will just see this as the court being either consenting, acquiescent or simply disinterested in the wellbeing of the country and it's people. But it's at least an simpler and quicker way to say they don't care. So answer me this - when the law of the land appeases the law breaker at the expense of the law abiding, to what purpose is there to continue abiding? These migrants - not refugees are coming illegally... and the law is doing NOTHING.
7
Oh for Jove's sake...🙄
6
Or better yet; people shouldn't be peering into other people's windows like a creep.
6
Common implies it's not hard to find and sense implies a means to reason and logic which also leads to critical thinking - ergo a means to challenge what's established. They won't have that: the establishment on both sides of the aisle don't want opposition, they want mindless obedience.
6
Tell that to politicians - they do it all the time.
5
@knockschool How about voting for no one. Didn't that ever come to mind. 🙄
5
@mickpeat6351 I just did and given your situation, i don't know much about the reasoning behind the guards approach so forgive the rather bland remark - from the sounds of it, he sounded like it was an order, which retail security can not instigate in terms of searching personal property. They can detain and have the police arrive so that would have been up to you. The EAS going off would have warrented him asking if you had anything - sometimes checkouts fail to disable tagging on clothes and meat and so on, leading to approach on the door. A simple receipt for me would do unless I had actual proof of anything else. At retail the guard would have needed cctv footage to justify anything further and if you had nothing then he had no reason to pursue.
5
Keep that in mind whenever you vote. The moment you tick the box - even if the winner isn't your choice; you've still signed what's basically a blank cheque for them to act how they want on your behalf.
5
@williamtopping the sign you know the principles of self defense.
5
@lucyhardy-styles-shield2728 Go to your settings, type in Emergency Alerts, unselect the alert approval, done.
5
And it's funny that people don't realise there's no such thing as as successful and honest politician and naively take part getting them in, not realising it doesn't make any difference but that they're signing themselves as responsible for all the wrong done and give up the right to complain.
5
@Stephen-lx9nm I didn't, I don't vote. I don't take part in the system which every one else complains about screwing them over and yet keep lining up to give it permission to.
4
@Stephen-lx9nm Not really a matter of cleverness - just a matter of paying attention.
4
@Eleventhearlofmars Wow... great success... now my sarcasm is put aside: Reform are just another brand of the same puppets for the same show. They'd do exactly the same as the two main parties, just like all the rest. And what that is, is what they're told.
4
@nlwilson4892 the company policy; depending on where you work - I haven't worked retail security in four years now, would have it written in the matter of procedure to not approach anyone without incontrovertible reasoning to do so. If passing though the EAS which is essentially the final spot before the exit past the point of expected payment and it sets off, the guard is expected to investigate the cause within reason. If it's not someone who's been monitored for suspected purposes the best bet is to ask politely of purchase involving high risk items such as alcohol, meat etc. Usually just the receipt will do that for you and that's it. When I used to do retail, if I saw someone coming from the checkouts with bags in hand or so forth and they set off the EAS, they'd just be let through without further hinderence.
4
@bluebottle1617 thanks, though it's been over four years since I was in the retail sector. Much hasn't changed though - most who take up security as a career, not following military service start off via retail... and frankly; retail do get a lot of idiots. Luckily they don't tend to last before they step over the mark and are removed. I just feel for the poor sods who have to deal with them to make that happen. Course the decent ones don't get a break; sometimes the customers can be a right piece of work and it takes a lot of restraint and smarts to resolve those.
4
@michaeldunham3385 I hold them responsible for the fact they crossed or ticked a box and thus accepted the terms of the circumstance they're now complaining about - whether they chose this lot or not, they accepted the terms of a majority speaking clause. Perhaps our guy can make a video explaining the definition of a contract. Then you can understand fully why I can and will blame any and all who vote in a system in which they will always whinge about what comes out of it.
4
And that is dependant on the policy - where I used to work on security you had to have incontrovertible evidence via cctv before you were allowed to approach and challenge. Otherwise you let it go.
4
A belt buckle? SMH FFS people...
4
They didn't take it, we gave it up. Granted you forfeit all rights the moment you choose to elevate someone to power - in exchange for privileges easily given and just as easily taken.
4
@LickorishAllsorts Sure is.
3
😲 The bastard! 😆 Merry Christmas man!
3
@ginvr the truth hurts and denial is comforting, but facts don't care about how you feel. When you made your vote, you accepted the terms of the process and relinquished your rights for the privileges the winners of said process can just as easily give and take away.
3
@ginvr Says one who thinks blindly ticking or crossing a box for a complete stranger is an expression of actual choice. You gave up liberty and for what - the illusion of it while those in office have your permission to act despite all your complaints.
