I have only just discovered your channel. I find you so interesting and am definitely going to put into practise your last tip. Every time I spend money on a non-essential item I will put £2 extra into my holiday savings. Thanks for the great idea

Loved this one!👏

How can you make this entire video without using the word “capitalism”? This is the central problem of capitalism, at an extreme.
7
Spot on Nicole! Thanks 😊

Im almost 32. I don't think anyone has only one persona (it's like your phone voice), Its perfectly reasonable to have one for work where you may have to act in a certain way and have a certain attitude (not saying you cannot let the weirdness out though and just simply not give a fuck) but when you are not there you can at least in my experience be yourself, who really cares though. Sometimes I feel older and sometimes younger, mainly joint wise but each day is different but there is still no need to grow up and completely change just because you are getting older, I will still be that old guy who's going to gigs, dressing how I want and listening to whichever music I like.

Fantastic ideas!💡

Girll!!!! So after watching two of your videos where you talked about amazon, I finally decided to just unsubscribe from Amazon just to see. And you were 100% correct. Those thieves 😂

I don't believe in New Years Resolutions. I personally think about the things I want to implement in my life and make plans to set up behaviors before I start them. Then it feels more natural than a total switch. But I do it year round.

Hi Nicole, super happy for you. I watch because I’m interested in the topics but also because you have a relaxing, funny and informative approach. Levi also helps! *raising a glass to the future * cheers 🥂

I think one important point on the money can’t buy you happiness is to reiterate something you e said before Nicole because new level new devil if your lifestyle creeps with increased income then the same problems and stresses that haunted you at 50k a year will haunt you at 100k and could be even more stressful because of the scale of the issue. But I do agree if you can control your money and have more of it then it can certainly reduce every day stresses x

Want Part 2,3,4!! Thanks

Ugh relate 100%. When I became wfpb I read a book called "The Pleasure Trap," which, among other things, points out that a quinoa bowl is never going to give your brain the hit a big mac does. It's almost like dietary minimalism. Because once you detox from the consumerist impulses/ junk food diet, you have higher sustained levels of dopamine all the time.

This is the single most important YouTube video I have ever viewed. Not to mention the most true.

I appreciate you SO MUCH Nicole. Thank you for these videos. I’m so much more intentional about what I’m doing with my money thanks to you. 🙏
6
I love the topic of this video!!!!!! This is perfect timing!!!

If you wake up in the morning and, by and large, you're happy with your life, then guess what? You're successful. You've achieved an inner calm and can start the day with a clear head. If your one of those people. Congratulations! Your smashing life!

Great video!! I am glad that the new beam is up successfully and I am sure it will all look great when the project is completed. Every pet parent understands your worries about Levi!

I quit my very stressful job and took a new role making half what I was....and I'm happier

Love love love your rant about banking fees❤
6
Your videos have inspired me to save more and I'm on my way to the 10k goal , keep up the awesome videos you're an inspiration! 🙏💯💕💰🤑💸
6
My favourite is motion is not action because it is very easy to get caught up in this. Hence, I'm working on this one.
6
Thank you for this video, i'm taking it as inspiration to laser focus on my goals <3
6
Diet Hoarders 😂 I’m dead lol love your humor!

Great video thanks so much

goes to show that high education is no guarantee of success or intelligence. you have more of both than many highly educated people....

I like the tip about putting away a small sum of $ for every purchase. I'm gonna try that!

The homeowner fantasy self is one I recently had to purge items from. Everytime I reach my house down payment goal, illness or job loss ends up using up all the savings and I have to start over again. I only have a 10x10 bedroom I rent so having dishes, pans or the must have furniture piece for "someday" takes over the space I need to live my life now.
6
Omg, house plants be warned. Thanks for the ideas❣️

Also, the wait staff in the US tips out "the back of the house" for helping them get orders out and tables cleaned. Faster service means more tables and hopefully more tips. The cooks and other staff also make shit wages and count on a oil tip money. Also, if tipping cash, a lip less is fine. When tipping by credit/debit/check,etc. tip more because now they HAVE to declare those tips as income and they get taxed on it. Yes, I know its illegal. Fuck it. Until the US works for The People and not The Shareholders they can suck it. Really nice restaurants only pay the Chef (notice I didn't say cook) well. Maybe management gets paid well. The servers are not paid well. They count on the % based tips to make a living wage. Your rebuttal to all of this is correct but tone deaf. If you think these people can just get another job, its far more complex than that. You also know that prices are somewhat set by market demand. A nail tech can't reasonably set prices far above TBE common price. I'll agree tip culture is ridiculous. It's not the person being tipped that's the problem though.

I am a minimalist, slowly going in the direction of extreme. I LOVE IT! There is nothing about it I DON’T love. I agree with everything you said.
6
Another great thoughtful, thought-provoking video. I totally agree with your assessment that we probably don't use 90% of the things we have. Pareto was way too cautious with his 80/20 rule!

I’ve been Vegan for 16 years. I started out on a plant based diet because of high cholesterol. I rapidly morphed into Veganism because of animal welfare and being disgusted by flesh eating. We don’t all start out for the animals but I thing a fare number of us see the light after abstaining from consuming animal products.

Great tips. I guess I'm better off than I thought.

Happy New Year Nicole & Levi🥰
6
If someone on the internet says it, you know it's true! Bon voyage Levi!!! 👋
6
I don't normally comment but I just wanted to tell you that I LOVE how real you are.
6
Thanks Nicole!! I switched over to Mint from Verizon in January. Well worth the savings!!
6
HAHHAHAHAHAHAHHA loved the intro. Yup, all fake😂😂
6
Such an upgrade! It look absolutely beautiful.
6
This video hit me hard. Thanks a lot for this video. Really underrated channel.
6
I didn't see an ad. Love the transparency here Nicole! These types of videos are fantastic.
6
totally agree and love the way you broke things down in this video! i don't want to follow some rule on what is ultimately a personal practice for me. for me I don't ascribe to the aesthetics of minimalist (as a style at home) i just love not having things to manage so it helps to constantly declutter and streamline things for function etc. great vid!

I always say if I go through a self checkout, I want an employee discount.

Googled 20 Celsius and was like whoa! 68 Fahrenheit, I only turn up to that when family visits lol. If it’s freezing out or below I’ll turn up to about 65 from 63. I have what I call a wizard robe, basically a blanket with a hood on it. We also have discounted electric on evenings and weekends which is when I wash clothes and hang dry. I also unplug everything when not using. My fave ways to save money plus reduce plastic are by making my own products like dish soap and shampoo from soap nut berries, cleaners from vinegar, lotion and shaving cream from shea butter and coconut oil, using magnesium balls for laundry. Awesome tips let’s all keep playing this fun saving game together 🌱💚✌🏼
6
Sounds like a great plan! Thanks for sharing!
