The BIG question: what kind of range when towing? If I have to charge for 40 min after 2 hours of towing, that's a no-go.

Love your channel brother! No BS no politics! Just solid facts! Thank you for that!

5 years from now I may get an electric vehicle. Tech moves too quick to jump in. This is a good thing to standardized a charging setup.
21
One of the things I like about Tesla is that they typically undersell and over-perform. Really lends credibility to them.

How this channel only has 52k subscribers, I’ll never know...

Overall a very good overview and explanation of solid state batteries. Keep up the great videos. Well balanced with technical information.

Happy to hear that analog computation is finding new life. Sixty years ago I had the pleasure of programming the Electronic Associated PACE Model 231R, the last of the large analog computers. It regularly calculated results faster than our department's digital computers. Then we installed a Philco 2000 with 10k core memory! Analog still won the timed races, but lost out on precision with "only" four-digit resolution.

This is such amazing news!! Thank you for making this video and giving us hope that change is actually coming. I would prefer that cities manage their own waste by having their own processing facilities under city management so when these materials get sold back to market, the end cost of the products and packaging it's used to produce is more stable and fair to workers and consumers.

Great professional presentation ... Love the content.

I have 2 Chevrolet bolts premiers: 2018 and 2019. It’s for me and my wife and we both have very short commutes. The bolt works for us because of the hatch configuration and will not get too much attention. Our cars serves our needs well and we paid cash for our vehicles. There is a chevrolet dealer near our home for added peace of mind; our cars have been rock solid so far. If we have to go on long trips we will just rent a suitable car and not worry about any possible issues we might run into and return it when we are done.

Thank you so much for continue to share your Ecoflow journey with the community. It is so awesome seeing the progress your team is making on the office and showing off how you are able to leverage their products in combination with the solar panels. I hoping to have a similar setup in my home in the future and these videos are so informative and inspirational.

This is what I love. People looking at a problem, then looking at all available technologies, and using the best fit for each usage case.

Two really intelligent honest engineers...!!

Should generate electricity when moving thewater and use that topump, then you only need enough extra to cover inefficiency

Triple thumbs up!! "LFP" AKA LiFePo4 chemistry has been around for a Long time. It's not new. It has LOWER energy density. It has traditionally been used in things like battery power tools because it can provide excellent power output. Can be be charged fast and frequently and suffers less degradation in these use cases. In a lot of cases it is great for electric vehicles but range will not be as good for the same mass of battery. I have LiFePo4 cells in my motorcycle as the starter battery. They are amazing. THANK YOU TBD FOR A WELL REASEARCHED REPORT ON THIS CHEMISTRY AS IT APPLIES TO ELECTRIC CARS AND HOW IT APPLIES TO TELSA IN THIS WIDELY AND POORLY REPORTED STORY. It is NOT the new chemistry for Tesla going forward but IS an excellent solution in the short term. I'm so sick of high-profile Tesla so-called experts reporting this so badly. I love Gali, be geeze he jumps the gun sometimes.!

Graphene will also be applied to rechargeable battery technology to increase their energy density and improve charge/discharge characteristics so i'm doubtful that the Ucaps with their linear discharge characteristics will ever replace batteries in applications like EVs where maintaining a level voltage over extended period of time is important. However, as you mentioned, I can see Ucaps being used to supplement batteries with their high charge and discharge burst abilities.

Whoa. Much more room than I thought. I'm 5'8" so I could fit back there. Great vid!

I'm so glad you got around to covering this. I mentioned it a few months back. After I saw coverage from Finland and I was just in love with the concept of how simple and cohesive it is to our current environment. I just love inventions like that. Also, not every method and idea is ment to work for "every option" but it will be Really good at what's it's good at. So it's totally worth it if you interconnect it to your city planning system properly.

Love that you did an episode with Munro! Awesome!

For the second home water heating, there should be some 120v heat pump water heaters that will be coming onto the market this year, so that could be an option.

We are so so appreciate that what Tesla’s promise to us: The Future is here!

internal combustion engine burns oxygen so not only it emits CO2 and other gases, but at the same time BURN the oxygen needed for that combustion to happen AND due to 25 efficiency, it creates a lot of heat that have to be exchanged "somewhere". not only the atmosphere recieve greenhouse gas that heat the earth in time, it also receive hot air itself instantly. EV's Instant torque means that you dont need that much kW output = less kWh needed. EV doesnt require radiator - a main aerodynamic obstacle to achieve low drag designs - no matter what aerodynamic design you put on your vehicle, there will always be radiator upright against the air flow. In my country (slovakia) we have around 10 percent of energy made out of coal. More than 50 percent is made from nuclear power, second is water third is air + sun. So having an electric car here ( and as mantioned in the video ) is a very good and clean idea.

When it comes to batteries, I'm most excited about the Battery/Drive train investor day. Can't wait for the specs they will release there...

I'm holding that's for damn sure, looking lonnng term

I've been an HVAC/R technician and educator for 29 years, and this is the best non technical explanation of the refrigerant cycle and heat pumps I've ever seen on YouTube, good job! Re. back up sources of heat, I've got an inverter driven variable capacity heat pump backed up by a multistage gas furnace. The furnace is cheaper to operate here in Texas, but the variable capacity heat pump is more comfortable heat delivery in our mild winters. The furnace is good for especially cold weathers, and since I can supply its electrical needs with just a small 500w generator, is handy during a power outage. Amusingly, I was completely prepared for loosing power during the big freeze, but never did.

15:16 Flight Attendant here. Thank you for the kind words and that beautifully thought out perspective one what it takes it gave me a new appreciation for what I do when you so gratefully articulated it like that. I'd like to add that I too thought the senator was unfair and distasteful. I really wish we could put him thought the ringer and ask about how they mismanage our taxes. If they wanna talk about unfair fees look no further then our own US government.

I've been thinking of this for years. By adding water to Lake Meade Arizona would also benefit, not to mention Mexico. I've even considered those pipelines. There was a news cast of the Great Lakes becoming too full, 10 feet above normal. there's another source for distribution. Thanks so much for your research, hope the proper viewers see this to make something happen.

This essay addresses several of the critically important issues of our present and our next several generations.
20
Ricky, thank you for remembering us we in the third world countries. Thank you thank you. May God Bless projects like these. Thank you so much.

Inflation of car prices really shouldn’t be driving people away from EVs. Because the gas prices are ALSO inflating so the cost to run that new ICE vehicle is rising just as fast. I’m all for any companies managing to make more affordable EVs though! Bought my used one last year and I absolutely love how much money I’ve been saving while also being responsible for way less emissions!
20
lol what a smooth transition to the endorsement
20
Thank you for covering this, I agree, it is very frustrating that the media only covers sensational stories. Keep up the great work!
20
Great engineering and physics class today.
19
Totally agree. It won't happen right off the bat. But by the summer of 2020 when neighbors start to notice these gems on driveways... it's over for the competition.
19
Charging errors should be an extremely rare exception. It's got to be gosh darn near perfect! Thanks Ricky!
19
RIP combustion cars
19
Amazing nice production of graphics. Well done.
19
Great music at the end....it added to the hopeful vibe
19
Storage is key for the large-scale adoption of renewable energy sources. Your coverage of this battery technology was clear, concise and entertaining to watch as well. Thanks!
19
Please do a episode on just thorium salt reactors
19
Brilliantly produced and researched video, as usual: thank you. As you say it’s essential to keep one’s perspective - nothing is green except a world without technology. Humans, especially in their billions and increasing by three every second, are never going to be green even if harvesting every watthour from the sun one way or another.
19
I’m a follower of both of you. You work well together. Do it some more!
19
Glad to see an update on this! It’s seemed so promising. Glad to see MN is doing long term tests to check on the mix and viability.
19
Two Bit da Vinci They won't make the cheapest version till after the tax credits are phasing, or fully removed. No one gets a brand new one for $27,500 and that's what bothers reservation holders.
19
Rikki, excellent video - great content, thorough analysis and brilliant thesis. Based on data, geopolitics and resources limitations, your thesis has great merit, thanks, Eamon
19
It's amazing what can be accomplished when you are looking for a solution to a specific problem.
19
I'm so down. But this is an uplifting idea. Hope it floats. And the video blows up.
19
Very interesting technology, thank you for the details. Thinking somewhere, there are biplane designers feeling vindicated. 😉
19
Couple this technology with a Stirling engine and you can get more efficient electric generation with a wider temperature differential along with the cooling. Possibly needing less or no solar panels.
