Absolutely great stuff, Mitch. You're smashing it. Completely agree regarding the core message - keep up the consistent contributions and then in 10 or 20 years time we will all look back and be amazed

Mitch if you don’t mind me asking how old are you at the moment? I am 21 and just started investing by putting in £2500, and will continue to add £1000 each month, into mainly ETFs and safe stocks, might as well get it started now rather than later
6
Just a correction time to buy more
6
Mitch its funny that you are doing this video before you even achieve 100k but I believe in you, I am sure you'll get there in couple of years :)
6
I invested 10k just before it declined. Bad luck :(
6
Crazy to see some of the returns there! Another great vid Mitch!

60 here. mortgage all paid off. 400k house 3 new cars all paid in cash. 100k in stocks and funds 100k savings. pushing to be worth 1 million on me 65th birthday. saving about 4k month and making about 2k month from investments.

It'll be a rocky 2021 but i'm thinking long term so if there is a crash it'll give me a chance to double down and purchase more shares of the stocks I already hold or possibly invest in new stocks I felt were previously too expensive.

fav UK finance channel 👍
6
Haha, what perfect timing. I'm literally in the process of installing it right now!

Dont forget to enjoy life and live. My mother died to early with a huge portfolio. She didn't even had the chance to enjoy it.
6
I’d be really interested to see this continued over a while! I’m also new to investing so would love to see a video on how to diversify and what to look for
6
Thank you for raising how hard it is for single people. I live on my own and it can be hard, but in the north i can just about cover my expenses for 3 months of bills. Keeping out of expensive debt is really key. But finding a permanent iob that allows progression is even harder. I dont know how people in more expensive areas cope 😢
6
Just keep investing
6
Still waiting for a crash lots of financial you tubers keep saying it’s going to happen, if you talk about it long enough it will, sooner or later it will happen, I am just going to keep dollar cost averaging the S&P 500.
6
Hi Mitch, would love to see more property videos and how to get started. Definitely something I wanted to get into after I graduate uni👍
6
I read up a little more on this, it seems that in the very worst case scenario HMRC will be collecting tax on previous dividends you've received from fractional shares too. On the better side if it still goes through, only the broker, the nominee will be liable to pay. They'll either remove fractional shares all together from an isa. I feel like it probably won't go through though The UK already has one of the lowest investing rates that has even extended to not helping uk stock exchange companies. This legislation wont help

Just what the doctor ordered.Very clear, simple to understand explanation of this product. I wonder if you might do the same for Bonds or gilts. I've watched a few videos on this subject but I'm still not clear about how they work. They certainly don't seem to be simple.I don't see where the attraction is in Bonds. They seem so volatile.
6
Im technically an 'A' although I'm not sure I'd class myself so highly as so much of that is equity in my home which I'm not looking to sell anytime soon
6
Great advice & very well delivered. ETFs are my choice, however a small amount that you are happy to gamble with on individual companies can always be a bit of fun! :)

“Those who wear nike tops can expect an additional 7.3% return per year” - Warren Buffet 2015
6
Good tips at the end Mitch. When we're younger, it's better to invest in ourselves first so that we have more disposable income to invest in our ISAs
6
Had one stock in particular that for a period suffered big style at the hands of short selling. . Share price suffered accordingly and still never recovered to the price it was before the short sellers got stuck in. Definitely not something to be seen in a positive light if someone wants to borrow your shares
5
Cheers for the advice! Really appreciate it.

Great content Mitch, the likes of you and Damien Talks Money,James Shack,Chris Bourne and others have opened doors to investing for us all,if only we were taught this at School, but thanks again keep up the great work.
5
Keep going Mitch! You’re crushing it!!
5
Thanks Mitch, had a good year and finally made it over the £25k assets. Thanks in part to channels like yours. Merry Christmas and all the best to you and everyone here for 2024!
5
Nice video Mitch, getting to £100,000, is probably the toughest journey for most investors, but once there it seems like a free ride, compounding is your friend and you will have your freedom, sooner than you think. I was surprised to see bonds in there, for such a young guy. Anyway Mitch good look with investing, in 2022 and the property search.
5
Brexit, C19 and the Tory dealth cult looking to reopen as they've run out of ideas. Triple whammy. Fully agree something is coming, but I can't see it until next spring.
5
If you are a long term investor not a gambler ,you don't need to worry, if you have a strong believe on your portfolio, you need not to worry, I entered in February when most of the stocks were all time high, now my portfolio is 35% down, but I am long term atleast 5 years.
5
@MitchShoesmith Would love to see how you research and find new companies to invest in. I feel like I’m not able to find stock without a hint from YouTubers or friends. I want to be more independent in finding and research stocks to invest in
5
Good stuff Mitch. However those pie charts that show % chance of making a gain over various time periods - a better indication would be the % chance of beating inflation over those period Would be interesting to see, and at the end of the day thats what really matters right?
5
What you have to remember, is the market always returns to all time highs, don't be part of the 90% who don't believe this, you have lost nothing until you leave.
5
£100 a month would be an awesome extra income stream, and a more attainable target.
5
Isn’t the dividend yield on Apple wrong? It’s around 0.71% as i can see.
5
Great vid as always Mitch, say hello in your discord some time.
5
I look st it like s computer gsme starting backwards (hardest level first) - year one . Getting easier as time goes on , easier levels later on life :)
5
@MitchShoesmith truely appreciate your honesty and I’ve enjoyed the content you’ve made so far, here’s to a prosperous future 😎 for context to what I originally put, I work in the customer facing side side and i earn £38000 and discretionary bonus quarterly
5
Interesting video. I wouldn’t make the FTSE a core holding but in my view it’s not a bad one way to diversity from tech heavy S&P 500. Won’t shoot the lights out but expect increase over time.
5
Cant wait to see my Palantir falls to 5$! :D
5
Great video, Mitch. Good to see an update to your portfolios 😊
5
I'm 28 and I'm just into grade A.
5
It’s two different types of ISA, ie you can invest into a stock and shares ISA and then a Lifetime ISA in the same tax year, but the 20k limit is still in place across both. So if you were to max out your lifetime ISA allowance (£4000) then you stocks and shares ISA limit would decrease from £20k to £16k
5
I do both with a bit of my pay but i absolutely put more into my investing portfolio than I do into my standard bank savings account
5
My take is this (plagiarising a lot of wise advice)..'When others are greedy be fearful, when others are fearful, be greedy'. I cant wait for the next S&P 'crash'..to me...its a huge sale! Either way I dont give a shit as my time horizon is over 20 years. Low fee S&P ISA..Avoid headlines, dont daytrade gamble (unless you have a PHD in Daytrading)...keep it super simple then simply 'index and chill'...keep it unbelievably simple!!
5
fantastic video ! needed this ! great video
5
Great spreadsheet… thankyou
5
Congratulations, just started my investment journey 2 months ago, dipping into it when i can, currently trying to save for my first house along with having a toddler, working full time aswell as studying for my degree. Cant wait to see my portfolio grow over time ! Keep up the good content mate
5
