  3. Yes my dad gave me £20k to help by my first house on my own. I’ve set up a junior isa for my daughter so I can do the same for her. I was very lucky I got a good grad scheme straight out of uni so was earning 44k straight off the bat at age 23.

  21. I was in the market for the 2000, 2008 and 2020 crashes, it was very hard watching my rewards slipping further and further away but the recovery that follows these events, have left me in a great position, you need time in the market and a crash from time to time.

  28. Solid pieces of money advice, Mitch. Best advice I ever got was from my Grandfather about focuses more of time which gifts true wealth. Value others and building relationships. In building relationships, you are your closest friends and the money will follow as will the unfolding of your dreams.. Life is pretty easy.

  30. I'm 37 qualified to postgraduate & Chartered level. I move every 3-5 and on a 6 figure salary. I know many people loyal to one employer and on 25-40% less than me. Sadly corporates have turned us into a number / resource and loyalty pays for a rare few.

  33.  @MitchShoesmith  That's another thing, there are a few property youtubers encouraging people to buy out of their area and whilst it may be cheaper you don't have as much control. I live in Stoke and there is a LOT of outside investment. Sadly I also know the (poor) quality of the areas where renting is popular & property is the cheapest & the quality of tenants and the mentality of those types of tenants as well. Personally I say stay local to you especially to begin with in Birmingham which is more than big enough to find a property, you know the good from the bad areas from personal knowledge plus it's a big city has more going for it than other areas of the country.

Why because I never invested or traded until the pandemic and having passive income/savings/investments is probably a lot more important to people because of the pandemic, there will be retail investors like myself buying the dip of all the companies I love.   35. Great video Mitch My son is nine and from birth we opened him a pension, stocks and shares isa and premium bonds. Every month we put a little into each but in nine years they have grown incredibly. Our goal is now to continually educate him around money , finance and wealth but along the way we have really enjoyed learning ourselves. Our yearly goal is to fill our isa accounts firstly , that being said we do have a great Emergancy fund kept in premium bonds. Pensions we have set up and a little each month goes into them. This year the goal is to continue learning and growing. Many thanks Pete

  39. Many people get into financial trouble when they get a pay rise as they don't allow for tax and workplace pension deductions. Many people think that getting a £1000 pay rise means an extra £1000 in their pocket, whereas it'll be nearer 67% after 20% income tax, 8% NI & 5% pension contributions. One of the best hedges against inflation is to buy extra groceries each week. Especially if its on offer. It's surprising how that extra £10 spent on every shop on things like coffee, soup, beans, etc, can help in the long term, and will help see you through when the shops run out in times of panic, etc. Obviously longer life products such as in jars, tins and packets, providing you can afford it and have somewhere suitable to store it.

I'm still trying to decide if I want to buy to let, or just buy one at auction, fix it up then sell it on

  48. Good luck on your new venture. I think doing a monthly update on your property portfolio would be a good start and then go from there, that way you can gauge the interest without tanking your channel views.
