Hi Mitch. Sold all of, 100% life strategy and put it all in, sp500 ETF for the better performance. I am in the process of selling rental property. Then max out pension and ISA. The reason is no tax on profits. No tenants. No maintenance. No capital gains. Having said this I am a lot older than you and have made a 50% gain on the property which is a flat. The best of luck to you and your new venture. The only advice from me would be don’t buy a flat…you will get a much better return on house. Best of luck .MTM.

I will continue to invest as normal and hope things turn around soon. Thanks for the info Mitch 👍

Ok, sort of expected all that tbh. But how do they make money?

I have a lot invested in Shell Oil, great dividends since WW2 but coronavirus has screwed them

@MitchShoesmith snap! Bought an m140i before xmas. Had been investing ~50% income for the past 3 yrs since graduating. Haven't invested a penny since (rebuilding savings) but worth it for the smiles & stories.

Great summary mate 👍 I'm new to investing I'm 28 years old and wishing I started at 18 years old 😂 keep up the good work I've learnt alot through your channel

Great video, Mitch 👍 Lets hope the dip stays until payday haha

Well done brave thing to do it’s not for everyone as things sometimes go wrong. Look forward to seeing your journey on this product, thanks for sharing.

Great video. Very interesting, Mitch. Some some rotten stats at the start! The overriding message I took was the earlier you start the better. Even with relatively modest amounts invested instead of spending on crap, a comfortable retirement awaits.
4
Your timeliness for holding your investments are a big factor on your investment decisions... you seem like you have 3 maybe 4 decades ahead of you, others with maybe 1 or 2 may not be so comfortable thinking they could ride out a long drawn out bearish market which has sometimes followed a market crash
4
How did you find saving for your BTL mortgage? I’m currently in the process of doing this and seeing such a large sum of money sat that being eaten alive is gut wrenching 😂
4
Learned a lot! Thanks for making a video on this.

Also the S&P500 pays out dividends the uk version £vusa has a lot less tax than the American version $Voo for uk residents

Always keep some cash to buy the dip regardless of market sentiments. If you're young and in for years to come - buy the dip, ride the waves & repeat.
4
Do you plan to max you isa on trading 212 Thais year and each year going forward?

Great video Mitch very informative and helpful 👍

I feel like the future of NFTs is around building a connection and the metaverse could be a hub for that I think NFT ownership within videos games is a massive next step but it needs to be the right sort of game

I work 7-3 Monday to Friday and then some Saturdays and I think if I do any over time then I’ll add that extra into my investments I started my own dividend journey a few months ago, it’s not a impressive amount but I’m getting around £3 a month at the moment Then I do YouTube aswell and that’s around £60 a month So I’m slowly getting there I’m 25

Very helpful 🙌🏽

Interesting mannn, having the possibility of retiring early would be amazing! 4% is not too unrealistic either
4
Given that about 60-70% of global funds are invested in the US then most investors are well covered in the S&P500 anyway. That said I can’t deny I have a couple of small US satellite ETF’s just for the fun of it.

Stick to buy and hold strategy

US stock are looking expensive. Other regions are much cheaper and offer much better value. Im staying diversified in global trackers
4
Yes, it just becomes a part of your £20K allowance.

I wish to retire when Im around 60y. By that time I wish to have enough to spend 40k/year. Just start trading this week at 36y old! No time to waste then! Very cool video, cheers!

Great content as always Mitch!! Hope you reach your financial goals 🎉

Is there a limit you can deposit into the normal share account not ISA ,in one deposit ?
4
If you were investing in an ISA any money taking out is tax free. You will ‘only’ need to take out about 45k a year in 20 years time. To have the same lifestyle as someone earning 70k who’s paying tax, student loan, and National Insurance . As you said you would expect to earn more than 4% interest annually, possibly taking out more money on good years to pay for the next lean year. I then guess most people would want to do a part time job in something they enjoy to keep mentally active so Your true financial freedom figure will be far less than £1.8m. Unless you wanted to buy a bigger house…

Mitch Thoughts on gamestop?

100% of people, who follow an index with a monthly investment for long enough, will make money, regardless.

Great👏🏻

I wonder what is going to happend to berkshire after this duo will be gone. Buffet is like 92? Still huge respect to this guys that in this age they are still doing this.

Hi Mitch, great video. Do you know if it’s possible to set up regular monthly payments to cash isa? Can’t seem to find how to do it. Many thanks
4
That's a great start and I can see how committed and consistent you are. Well done! I'll be revealing my own portfolio for the first time in the New Year so its great to see how others do it. Keep up the good work!
4
Best time to start!

Great video Mitch enjoyed that! At the beginning of my investing life I thought about the S&P 500 but I ended up going for the Global all cap! I sometimes think about investing in individual stocks but I like the simplicity of the one fund that owns the lot
4
Loving the content as always mitch!! carry on inserting little memes throughout the vids.. spices it up abit
4
Sometimes, i wonder. Is incompetency a prerequisite for any success as a UK MP or government. Nothing seems to ever change that's pro uk
4
Balanced, informative: Thanks

Smashing it Mitch, assumed you had been at stock investing must longer! Would love a vid on your daily routine and resources, lots of info. out there so seeing where/who you pay attention to would be good. Keep it up fella!

"A god dam Christmas turkey shortage" Just about spat my mince n tatties out over that one! 😂

Hi Mitch, firstly love the content. Pitched at just the right level. I am a new investor (started on 1st Jan 24) I just wondered if you think I am doing my investing journey correctly? 😂 I am 55yrs old. I already receive a pension and am lucky enough to be able to work again growing a second DB pension for when I choose to retire again! I am lucky enough to own 3 properties that I rent out in the UK. I have started a T212 ISA in both cash and S/S. £5K in the cash ISA as my emergency pot. Then £15k in a S/S ISA. But I was always worried about being a tinkerer. So within the £15k 75% is in a the S&P 500. The other 25% is based on 15 dividend paying UK stocks that offer a bit of excitement seeing the dividends roll in every month. I am able to invest £500 per month into these stocks in the same proportions (75% and 25%). My plan is just to leave the S&P to grow and if I get the urge to tinker I can use the less expensive stocks to have some fun without messing it up too much. Thanks again and keep up the good work.
