The quality in your videos is simply amazing! It's insane how you can make such a captivating video about smoke alarms of all things. This video was super informative and enjoyable. Hope to see more from you!

Pulled me in. Never heard of this dude. Definitely never consumed anything related to smoke detectors. Only thing close might be chemical safety board videos, but it's been many months. Anyway, showed up on my feed tonight.

Brilliant exposition ! Many thanks. NOW I KNOW WHY MY 2 DASH CAMS SAID 'NO CARD' WHEN I USED THOSE SAN DISK ULTRA PLUS 16 GB cards. Wish I known all this before. Excellent work Car Cam Central !!

Oh yea!!! Another review!! Awesome. Happy Turkey Day.

I'm impressed how much research, source and content you put into videos which truly makes them a masterpiece worth watching. Concise and clear information. Also, if I saw someone in a garden with a teddy bear strapped in a chair hooked up to a car battery I would question his intentions

Very well done Andrew, thankyou, this video was not only educational and informative but entertaining. I've been a subscriber for many years and from a fellow content creators, point of view, I think you're inspirational. Also you've helped me personally, with advice via email, in the dash cam era. For that also, thankyou š

Yesssss. I've been looking forward to this review for a while. Thanks so much!

Wow, you really are very thorough, especially the effects of hot temperature. That's important to me because I live in southern California, where sun is out all the time.

Watched several videos now, and this guy!!!!! Every video is so great, such a quality review, so well put together! Amazing

This is both entertaining and informative. Keep up the good work! However, the fact that the IIHS does not consider lightweight vehicles as safe is indicative of a larger problem, wherein cars are being designed to be dangerous to other motorists, as well as those outside of motor vehicles due to excessive weight. Ps. Nice Canadian rubles :)

Awesome job on the research. If I may suggest another topic, how about innovations on road design for limited access roads (e.g. the Autoban, US Freeway system, Canada National Highway System).
9
Man, youre doing an excellent and honest job here! Highly appreciated! Thank you very much!

I was in a highrise condo fire in 2009 in Chicago, it was on the 36th floor of a 42 story building. We were told to stay in place unless in immediate danger. The building was older and thus didn't have sprinklers. The elderly resident of the fire died, but only other injuries, no other deaths. The injuries were because the fire actually busted out the windows and into the units upstairs. Staying in your apt may seem scary in the moment, but it was definitely the right call for us. https://youtu.be/Zv6z2Yy6khI This video was really cool and informative, thank you!

I live in Japan. Periodically the power company comes out and checks for leaks to ground in the whole house circuit. They also replace the electric wires from street into house every 8 years. On a related note, none of this stuff is needed if the power company does not ground one side of its power circuit. An ungrounded power source will not shock you if you touch one bare wire. We are discovering this basic fact in off grid solar installations, which only need to ground solar panel aluminum frames for lightning..............

To be fair, the US electrical system sucks a lot

This is the first video I have seen of yours and I am incredibly impressed! The presentation rivals TV shows but it leaves the corny, corporate feel behind. I know it probably took an incredible amount of time and effort to make this video and I wanted to let you know that i think it really paid off!

I was in a low overlapping head-on, like your fatal flaw. He popped out of the fog and I hit my breaks and immediately slid so I switched and punched the gas. That made my tail swing out more and the angle of contact changed at the last possible instant and I spun when we connected. I slid sideways out of the seatbelt and was stuffed into the rear passenger footwell headfirst. Totaled both cars. I guess I should add I got charged for criminal negligence because I was passing a few cars going very, very slow. Too slow for conditions, but fog has a way of changing to soup in an instant. I was found not to be. Mostly because I had the car 3 days and hadn't had time to take off the very bald tires that were on it and that was the first time I drove it in the rain. I tried to slow down and get back in my lane. But like I said, I just slid immediately, like I was on ice. I was stuffed the instant I hit the breaks. A consequence of not being rich more than any culpable intent.

Thank you for the effort you put into these videos, the quality is insanly good!

Iām really happy I ran into this video, Iām interning with a city this summer and was doing work in one of these just a few days ago, the coolest part that I noticed when looking at the one within my city was the āgrit chambersā. These chambers are at the inlets and allow for the sediment to settle in the camber instead of in retention pond area. These chambers are also used throughout the whole city to keep sediment from going into lakes and rivers.

I'd love to see how the IIHS stacks up against the more strict Euro NCAP tests

If you end up jumping into trees you might want to ask for ten bucks back since youāll need bandaids š

Ā @P_RO_Ā the Thing is most People dont Stop the Videos and read every Note and asume Things are based on the Narration of the Video and thats what got me confused there. Sure after reading in properly and understanding the Graph it was right. The Comment was meant to be a friendly "Hey something seems off to me" and others might be confused but this was still a great and informative Video.

I'm glad you guys do recommendations for hot weather as well. I live in Texas where it easily gets to 100+ every summer and I'd rather not have a battery swell and explode in my car lol. I bought the G1W-C a few years back due to your review, and it hasn't failed me yet. But I think it's time to get something with better video quality haha.

Just started watching, can already say it is because of the GFCI protection.

You didn't mention that Nader's book was later found to have been full of false information and outright lies. I just find that an amusing sidenote. It was very influential in bringing car safety to the fore.
8
I hope other reviewers were like you. Very informative and efficient. No words wasted.

I'm an MEP/FP engineer, and this is spot on. Sadly combustible structure is making a comeback due to it's low cost and deregulation.

A lot of being safe on the road comes down to being observant & watching for situations unfolding. Sadly to few people do this. It does make me glad though when I make a mistake driving & I visibly see other drivers react showing they are paying attention. Then the next correct thing to do is correct for my mistake in the safest way possible. VOLVO & Euro Encap are the other two main crash test authority's that have come up with some really cool tests. I always look at crash test safety when getting a new car, looked at it for my partners car to so he would have to best chance at survival if the worst happens.

Things you learn. I always thought the local park just flooded due to poor drainage without realize that it was flood control at work. Great video.
7
Absolutely essential viewing when looking for a dashcam. Every quesition answered, every feature explored, myths busted and solid info throughout.

A few of the buildings were I lived in Toronto had pressurised hallways that were marketed as keeping cooking odors out of the hallways, I had often wondered if they would keep the hallways clear of smoke as well. Now I know thank you.
7
andrew doesnt always post often, but when he does, they are gold. No BS, no intro music, no sexual appeal or only fans. Just good info and visuals.
7
ā @P_RO_ What are you even talking about? Try to look things a bit more objectively, not emotionally if you are trying to learn something. If you are using one perspective in an explanation/argument, changing that suddenly for one graph can be confusing. There is a reason why this is not the only comment about it and why even on the creator's side a tester pointed it out. Overall it's a good video, no one questions that.
7
Andrew, you make it difficult not to hit the BUY button! Thank you for your thoughtful reviews.
7
He was just drowned under some rainwater. They should have built a dam.
7
Great review. I would love if you can review the A129 duo PRO. The 4k version of the duo viofo cam. Have been looking for reviews on that, but no one does a better review than you! Greetings from Trinidad and Tobago

I am currently condo shopping, this video will give me a lot of important things to look out for!
7
One of things that's also important is the consistency and sensitivity of the building's automatic fire detection system. This past summer, I lived in a newly constructed apartment building that has per suite fire detectors, automatic fire doors that are opening during normal use but closes when the system detects a fire, insulated fire escape elevators, and many other advanced features. The only problem is the overly sensitive fire detection system kept triggering and ordering whole building evacuation from people smoking weed in their apartments. After the third such evacuation, 90% of the residents no longer evaculate, which meant the state-of-art automatic system in advertently caused more complacency due to an incorrect setup.

Amazing, this video was crammed with information density. So many different examples and diagram. Really using the visual medium. Had to slow it down to 1x speed.
