I got the A129 for Christmas and love it the image quality is better then I expected night and day when through my rear window 5% tint you can still see great and for $200 with several accessories you can't beat it I'm very happy with it

Funny how the people who care about me the most are the ones who pay for when I die or get injured.

Found this video through Reddit, never watched your content before - but if your future videos are engaging as this, I can't wait. Learning about niche interesting stuff like this, presented in a nice way is really great to watch. Keep it up my friend!

Nowadays protecting the vehicle is often just as large an issue for the insurance companies as bodily injury, which is why cars that are expensive but safe don't have cheap insurance.
4
@Lam I found it clear enough in your labeling it as "escape time". However there are many people who are seemingly averse to reading these days, and a graph or chart will be what they focus on so they might miss it.

Wow, a revolution in tire making machines

Hey good to see you guys with another video. Thanks for the great work as always 👍

18:58, LPL is James Bond confirmed.

How do you 'only' have 105k subscribers?! This channel is massively underrated. Your format is so informative please don't stop. The other commenter nailed the reasons why.

perfect timing, about to relocate in few weeks. thank you andrew!

Love the effort you put into production and scripting. I know how much work it is to juggle life and creative outputs like this — excited for your next one, no rush :)

Quite good stuff. I like how you provided the references in the caption. I look forward to checking out your channel. Subscribed. Cheers

Long time no see

Great video but its unfortunately only North America focused. What has been done over in europe is not even mentioned in a sidenote...😢
4
Thank you for the update! I was waiting for this

Kinda forgot to address the issue with busting the door down via the hinge side. Very simple and cheap solutions for that but a high security lock doesn't do any good if the other door jamb is more vulnerable
4
What an in-depth review! Thank you for making this video.

Awesome video! I use to live in an apartment and would always wonder what the best plan of action would be!

I love your videos dude. Keep it up, i promise youtube will love you as much as we do!!!!

What an informative and indepth look into this topic. Would like to see more on this, maybe with a collab from one of the folks you mentioned

Such quality production, you're killing it!

Great video got the Black Friday special for $93.00

Another awesome video Andrew! Thanks!

Superb video. Deserves way more views

Great video for those that didn’t already research car safety! Regardless, I’m not buying anything newer than 2006 and I’d rather die at the steering wheel of my 1996 Daewoo Tico than replace it.

I love your content Andrew, but the graphs you used to illustrate the difference in reaction time of the alarms was confusing to me The way you presented it makes it unclear what the"smoldering fire escape time" means. On first look it reads as if the photoelectric TOOK 35 minutes to alert while the ionizing took 4. What I assume it means is that the photoelectric gave 35 minute of warning before the smolder turned into flame. Just food for thought on that data presentation, loved the video

Thanks, Andrew. I have the VIOFO A119 v3 on my wish list. I will buy through your link when I am ready. Cheers from Winnipeg.

Do you have a preference or recommendation of the V3 vs Duo? I'm debating getting the rear cam... but it seems the V3 has newer tech in it. Would there be a noticeable diff in image quality between the 2?

Can my daughter use this camera - as a "backup camera". The question is - can she hit one button to cause the FULL SCREEN to show the back camera (quick/easy)... then switch back? thx for you time on doing this review - very helpfull!

@Lam often you can tell by construction. If the stair well has large windows and generally is more for looks it’s likely more of a convenience stairwell. Often it won’t go the full heigh of a building either. It also potentially will not have fire doors which leaves users prone to smoke, fire, explosion, etc. I haven’t seen too many personally but I have read about them in my fire fighting textbook before. I am trained in NFPA fire fighter level one and two. If you have more questions I would definitely answer them. I’d even send you my number, privately of course. I love talking about this stuff haha. I’m very passionate about fire safety. Love the video by the way. Very informative.

"Business Expense Dessert (Hello CRA)" is one of the funniest things I've ever seen in a YouTube video.

Based on your excellent review, I am considering this dual cam setup. Is there an alternative to the rear windshield mount as I drive a convertible?

7:20 Only in Canada would the graffiti artists leave the depth markers in place ...

10:54 Steel-toe boots??? Safety first.

Best Dashcam review in the entire Youtube. This is the quality and information I was looking for. Really like the way you come back and update your review on changes and failures.
3
My V2 has been performing perfectly over the last 1.5 years. I’ve been sending friends/family your excellent reviews. Thanks!
3
Great job Andrew! I'm looking forward to more videos. (still miss the unbiased dash camera reviews)
3
Oh wow! I never even knew about how it could be safer to stay put! Very cool video!
3
John Padilla yes, but not at night. 4K means more pixels and each pixel will get less light in night environments. But for day driving 4K is a lot better.
3
great video! The humour sprinkled through the video was an excellent touch!

I would love a tree test. Currently that seems to be one of the worst crashes to be in, because it is a pretty small structure, that does not move an inch. So you have a high resistance and small area of impact And trees close to roads scare me tbh.
3
Thank you for the review. You are the best - trustworthy.
3
Oh wow, it was so cool to randomly find the inspiration for the Storm Drain location from Mirror's Edge!

You know you've made it on YouTube when Andrew Lam features your videos on an explainer for why Japan doesn't usually use grounded outlets

When I started to look at dashcams I was totally confused as what to buy. Andrew's website was great in analyzing the various makes and models. I focused on what he has to say about the Viofo 119v2. I went ahead and purchased it and after a few hiccups to install as the instructions are too clear it works great. I had to use some intuition to solve my roadblocks. The picture quality, sound is the greatest for the price. I don't need anything more and it has options that I don't even use. I went ahead an purchased a second one for my other car. Have been using both for four months and very pleased. Great work Andrew and crew. Keep up the good work.

12:07 fire services can actually employ makeshift overpressure zones. We have dedicated fans for that. On top of that our station usually sends a team to set up the correct ventilation requirements for this as part of the scouting in such buildings. Another reason why you should not try to leave through a smoke filled staircase, we can make it safe, even older ones.
3
I needed this so bad because I am going to start driving soon and need one
3
Are you still standing behind the A129 Duo? I'm ready to buy two systems for both my vehicles and want to ensure longevity and reliability.
3
I like the immense study into all of these. Great help.
