Not gonna lie, the final stand of Constantinople gave me chills

Plz do fall of Byzantium

Am I the only one that got the "mines of Al Kharid" joke? 10/10 for subtlety
107
I can't wait to watch this, your stuff is always really good

The way you presented this and dissected all the evidence is honourable to the point that I really think you could be on mainstream TV and change the way others present paranormal cases. So so many do not keep logic and are so obviously biased but you ensure you do not take biased slants to the evidence and fully represent both sides. This is how documentaries on subject matter are supposed to be presented. You are a credit to the field and when I can I'll donate. This is a joy to watch and will be my go to video for anyone who asks me about SWR. Please try to produce part two, I wait with baited breath.

Thanks for putting out the overwhelming kind of documentary that challenges the notion that Youtube (and streaming in general) can only be a waste of time. From your videos and others, I've been compiling a History of the World, from the start of the universe until the far end of the heat death, focusing on the past 100,000 years.

As someone from the US but family history that’s mostly German (Ostfriesland, Mecklenburg, Westfalen, Hesse-Darmstadt), I have struggled to understand all the history and changes in rulers. Thanks for helping!

Probably because of 0:28

A mention of Blas de Leso in the jenkin's ear war would have been great. The British were humiliated ion Cartagena de Indias

Finally a good YouTube recommendation 👌

That was insane how much information you managed to cram into this series, Danke!

louis14 nevers said (it's not prouven) L'État, c'est moi (I am the state) but in his death bed he said Je meurs, mais l'État demeurera toujours (I'm dying, but the state will always remain)

Hi, I'm Mexican and study food history. In Nahuatl, the "L" at the end of a word is silent. So Xitomatl would be pronounched "Shitomat" and not "ShitomatL".

"the infertile Charles II" That's one way of putting it. Another is that he was essentially inbred and as a result was severely mentally handicapped, physically impaired, and so sickly that he was expected to die at just about any moment. It was a miracle that he even managed to survive as long as he did (he died just shy of his 39th birthday).
97
Thank you for your hard work and all the quality in-depth analysis on your channel!

"I recommend you watch all my videos...twice" You gotta pump those numbers up. Those are rookie numbers.

Great subject for a Campfire episode. This was a very spooky story for me as a kid. When I first heard about it as a kid in the 90's.
96
This is by far the best video you can find about the Byzantine Empire on YouTube! You have my subscribtion.

I'm a simple man with simple wants; I see a new Fire of Learning video, I click.

The days of cable history documentaries is getting ready to fall.
95
I didn't knew i wanted to know about this but you got me hooked in less than a minute. I had wondered about certain fruits and vegetables being introduced to different continents through trade (like potatos and coffee). But never the strawberry itself.
95
Do livestock and Fertile Crescent! Also, I'm fascinated by the evolution of many foods from wild ancestors to calorie producing beasts.
94
I love the use of maps in your presentation style, particularly when explaining periods where borders were very volatile. I wish more documentaries would do this, It's great for understanding events in context of what was going on elsewhere.
94
The french equivalent to the first example of "to count your eggs before they hatch" is "il ne faut pas vendre la peau de l'ours avant de l'avoir tué", ie: you shouldn't sell a bear's pelt before killing it
94
At least we have dariy queen.
93
The only thing I absolutely HATE about your videos is that I seem to find them really late at night, but since they are SOOOO good, I have to finish them, leaving me to stay awake way too late.
92
As a modern native of this historic island I'm very glad you made this video. I love the history of this place. I've been to Knossos dozens of times. Here in my hometown, Herakleion, we even have a street named after Sir Evans. We would go on school trips as kids to Knossos to see the ruins and play with the peacocks. Yes, that entire area still has peacocks for some reason, you'll see them hanging around the ruins and escorting the guided tours.

A glorious project I must say, was a lot of fun to work on, and build!

America has a modern day monarch, No really, Burger King

Who here Often imagines Himself as a Viking ?

No, they downgraded to 350% Did I said downgrade? I meant upgrade

This was some seriously great sleuthing on your part Fire, I've looked into the Skinwalker Ranch numerous times and I've always felt that some aspects were being played up/played down depending on the motives of the people involved. Really impressed with how thorough and meticulous you've been on this one. When those responsible for reporting the facts also happen to have motives of their own regarding the information I become immediately skeptical as to the veracity of the claims so having someone take the time to look at all of the different angles to this decades long mystery while having no stake in the ranches success is something that's definitely appreciated. (I wouldn't mind a part 2 down the road) Just subbed, great channel!

No history of my country can be covered completely without what is arguably the most important part of our culture. The Great Australian Shitpost.
89
Please make more videos like this! The campfire playlist needs to be about 1000x longer
88
These documentaries are amazing. Thank you for taking the time to make them!
88
I love these 'History of Food' videos. I'm always happy when one comes across my feed.

Please do the history of al-andalus

When I was 13, our Latin teacher would march regally into the class-room. Mrs. Hoyle. With a face such as the Anubis Dog one sees on Egyptian statuary. You DO NOT WANT to mess with this person. "SALVETE!" she would greet us.... "Salve MAGISTRA!" we would intone as we stood up. Since then I see Latin everywhere. I am of Spanish / Portuguese decent and speak also Italian and French... Walk in the Park
86
I find your campfire series to be your most fascinating, keep up the good work man
85
Hi, In the end of the "collapse of Rome" video you recommended this and other video's as they kind of picked up where that video left off. That was really useful and triggered me to keep watching. I would love a video that picks up where this one left off, essentially you'd then have Europe covered from 800BC until modern age. This creates some more structure. I will be watching some other video's from this channel now, and if they end up being as good as these you'll have found yourself another patreon supporter.
84
it‘s seriously a blessing whenever you upload
84
Comme d'habitude, ce fut très intéressant. Merci!
83
Don’t mock UHTRED!!! You Arseling! But yes, true.

As a big fan of history and a life long learner I can’t express how much I appreciate these. Mind blowing how much quality historical content there is on YouTube. Thank you.
82
Ive just begun trying to learn French, good timing with the vid.

I am a humble man, I see a Fire of Learning video, I click.

You're right, it must've been truly terrifying to be in the front row, knowing you could be scythed down at any point. Just how bloody terrifying were the officers that you would rather face near certain death than face him?
