EVs are not working ? I did not know that. Driving EV only for now 9 years, through Europe, long distance, cheaper and better. Well I thought they were. If only someone had told me that EVs dont work 9 years ago. I did not know that they dont work. How do I explain that I did > 250tkm in EV cars that do not work. I am devastated, I do not know any of those ICE guys who know better. My fault

Great interview, Steven is a golden nugget!

I'm a truck driver owner operator. I have delivered to all of the automakers. The Big Three are some of the worst places to ever deliver to but rivian is the most inefficient. The industry standard is to have you be unloaded within two hours or they begin paying detention. Rivian has every single truck with every single delivery wait a minimum 3 days and I've heard people sitting up to 7 Days getting paid the entire time just waiting to be unloaded in the Warehouse.

the biggest signal imo is Elon putting his money where his mouth is. He wouldnt be announcing the volume production of the robotaxi for 2024 unless they were EXTREMELY confident in FSD. Very bullish

Great to see both Gali and Dave Lee back with their Tesla content! Both were there long before anybody knew what Tesla was about.

I don't understand the focus on the stock. I only focus on the company. Short term: not so many developments. Long term: all fine.

Love the long format for a high-quality guest like Jordan

Watching this on my lunch break at the Kato Rd. facility. As great and exciting as it is here, it’s good that you put your personal ambitions first. You may have found yourself stuck in the golden handcuffs later down the road unable to pursue your other goals. I took the opposite approach as you delaying my career life, also touring in a band and doing a lot of international travel until began to feel lost in life. Contributing to Tesla’s positive mission for humanity helps me feel excited and motivated despite the long hours and hard work. My tesla journey is just beginning. And I’m sure it’s exciting for you as your post-tesla chapter in life unfolds. All the best!

I feel like Karpathy's sabbatical is due to a huge breakthrough with FSD. I feel like they may have solved it but they need to do a bunch of manual work that doesn't particularly need his expertise but will take a few months to complete. He will be back to put the finishing touches. That's my guess.
87
Don't overthink it dude, just do whatever is most natural for you. We're interested in your thoughts, the optics are secondary. 🙂

All you US citizens watching this video, especially those who voted for Biden and probably expected better, do what I cannot do as a foreign citizen: write to your senator, your representative, the WH for all I know, and tell them how wrong and potentially damaging that all BS is! The world cares!... and watches!
87
Thanks for your honesty and direct appraisal. It is a joy to hear about the "inside" of a company I am so heavily invested in.

I knew dealer inventories grew this year but wasn't aware problem was THIS big. Truly huge. And with that, GM restarted dividends (which was covered by MSM) AND quietly announced a $5b share buyback (equiv to $68b for Tesla, relative to market cap), in a year when they took a $2.5b DOE loan to build a battery plant with LG. Reminds me of pre-bailout years when they milked the company dry and when it failed they were too big to fail (their debt meant others would be pulled under too) and government saved them. Sad. Great catch, Farzad!

Cory is a first class technical presenter. He is very good at conveying automotive complexities in clear and logical terms. I think he is a big reason why Monroe has really taken off on YouTube. Sandy, the industry guy who has seen it all, with the old school gruffness and hard truth deliveries, with Cory's modern flowing presentation style. (and know how). It's amazing to listen to people who rip stuff apart and redesign stuff have to say about Tesla vs the people who see a body gap and talk about how Teslas are crappy cars, and a total fad, yet they have never owned or worked on one. As a customer/investor, I just use bs like this to strengthen my resolve. I'm sure Tesla employees have long done the same. At the end of the day, it's far better to be the ones responsible and not get the credit (everyone knows the truth anyway, even "them"), than to get the credit and know that you don't deserve it. Of course, having known some union employees, they'll probably have themselves fooled, but they will be the only ones.
85
If the goal is to have your members work less, I think the UAW will easily see this within a few years. Try zero days per week.
85
12.3 is amazing. My first three drives have had zero disengagements. They have actually done it!!
85
You should title these kinds of videos, "Latest Elon interview - just the good parts". Then you'll get a lot more clicks.
85
Last night was amazing. I am so proud to have been part of it in a small way. I'm watching what I missed, but I can say this... waking up this morning was different. Tesla and the PEOPLE IN TESLA are AWESOME and our Community is AMAZING. So much of what we said in streams and on Twitter was dead on and they were so many BIG DREAMERS. Tesla is like no other and the Tesla Community is a WORLD WIDE FAMILY of people working for A BETTER TOMORROW.
85
One thing GM does better than Tesla, government relations..
85
This is one of the unspoken benefits of Tesla: The coalition of like minded individuals who appreciate truth, tech and abhor Bullshit.
84
You are absolutely right. Elon and Andre would not spend time away from FSD unless they were 200% sure it was working! Love your thoughts! Thanks.
84
Thanks for having Stephanie and I! Great to talk.
84
I wanted to go to buy a Ford truck and they are still charging “ market adjustment “. I don’t care if Ford isn’t directly responsible . Hope they go bankrupt
83
If AI becomes really cheap and easier to train, this means a whole lot more people are going to be testing it out and even building their own versions. Accelerating tech has just accelerated a whole lot more. How much will our world change by the end of this decade?
83
This is exactly what the world needs more of at this moment in time. Respect, friendship and conversation across cultural/political divides.
82
Ford, Toyota, Hyundai, Kia all have had significant physical recalls in the last 2 years. Tesla's biggest recall was for fonts. The future is now, the future is Tesla.
82
Sandy & Farzad, what a fantastic collaboration! You guys ROCK!
81
Spot on bro. The hypocrisy is astounding. Lobby w one hand, backstab w the other
81
I drive for Uber and/or Lyft appr. 50 hours a week. Both of these companies actually charge 60% of the total amount. That is, on one year's worth of rides that I made $41,000 on, the amount charged to the customer was $100,000. This is from year end tax statements given to me by both companies. No doubt, Tesla could run their networks much more efficiently. I can only hope Tesla only takes 20%! Let me know if you'd like to discuss further.
80
Congratulations on becoming a father. You'll love it. Happy times ahead. Love the channel. Thanks man.

Half of America want a Tesla, the other half does not yet know they want a Tesla.

All valid points! I think Mary Barra has made a lot of promises to investors and now the time has come to put up or shut up and when all is said and done she will ultimately pay the price by losing her CEO status at GM. You can only string along investors with promises and shiny new concepts for a short time before they see the writing on the wall. Her days are numbered IMHO. I give much credit to Ford's Jim Farley for being open, upfront and honest about the struggles ahead.
79
I've worked pretty intimately with the big three (union employees and middle management) in the past and I can tell you they will never compete with Tesla, their demise is imminent. I cant go into details, I really wish I could, youd be shocked how those companies actually run.
79
Yes, in contrast to Tesla that builds it's cars in the US with US workers on high wages,GM has decided to do it on the cheap and pay lower wages(I would think) to another country and at the same time take away jobs from the workers in the US.This just shows what a desperate financial position GM is in.
79
Comparing Tesla to legacy auto is like comparing lightning to the lightning bug.

as a Romanian (which we speak the same language as moldavians) and as an automotive engineer of more than 10 years, i can confirm the video looks real. That Tesla is driving on FSD in Moldavia. I don't know exactly how, cause the driver just stated he uses a special box to make it work. The Tesla was imported from USA, it was damaged and repaired and it had FSD originally. I think it was somehow 'hacked'. apart from that i know for a fact (because i was several times in Chisinau, the city it drove), that the roads there are horrific. And the driving there is VERY chaotic, i mean very. A lot of moldavians drive very chaotic without any regard for signs. As a romanian with more that 15years as a driver i sometimes am scared to drive there. I was trully shocked Tesla handled it that well. But maybe i am biased a little being a Tesla shareholder.
78
Sandy's enthusiasm is infectious and is probably why he's so popular. Not to mention, he's a walking encyclopedia of engineering principles.
78
There's been alot of "final nails" over the past few years
78
Brilliant synopsis of the Legacy ICE melt-down! I totally agree with your analysis...in fact, we are inside of the industry EV disruption right now, which explains some of the craziness in the markets. This is an excellent and factual media piece that deserves much respect! I wish this could be aired on CNBC!! Great work, Farzad!
77
The wife test is the ultimate Turing Test for self driving
77
As far as affordability, I was able to get into my first Tesla by buying a used one on their website! FSD, fully loaded all wheel drive…I have Tesla insurance and it’s cheaper than what I paid to insure my 2003 Subaru!
76
Great chat with two legends!
76
Whenever TSLA stock price is down, I can always count on Steven to restore my confidence in holding TSLA.
76
"If there's one company that can do it, it's Tesla. If there's one leader that can get us there, it's Elon. If there's a workforce or talent (pool) that can ultimately execute on this, it's the team at Tesla...I'm super confident that, if this is the path that Elon wants us to go on...then it's going to get done. It might not get done tomorrow, but it's going to get done"
75
For an Ai voice it’s not bad. If I was new to Farzod I might not have noticed but since Ive listened to you a lot, it was pretty obvious
75
Everyone should be free to speak, freely. And remember, it is ok to disagree without invoking hate or anger.
75
You didn't mention the (up to) $40k tax incentive applied to commercial vehicles over 14k pounds.
75
Farzad…..many bar owners would be willing to own that cab for a ride home for patrons! Small bars are hurting largely because they are easy targets for police.
75
Tesla may not ever reach 1,000,000 employees, unless you count Optimus robots as employees.
