The inhabitants of Canada, Canadians, and so on. After WW1, there was a British Mandate called "Palestine", whose inhabitants (predominantly Semites of three main religions, Muslims, Jews and Christians) were collectively called "Palestinians".

I suggest looking into a dictionary, to see what "a nation" means. So if Switzerland can become "a nation", then so could the people who lived in the 1919 British mandate of Palestine. Did you know that the UN controlled Sanai was set up after the 1956 war to protect Egypt from Israeli (together with France and GB) aggression? Yup. After that war, the world decided that Egypt needed protection from Israeli expansionism. Ten years later, the Sanai isolated Israel from Egypt. Fine. Then, Israel started the provocations against Syria. Of course, comfortable in the fact of being far stronger than Syria, and that Egypt couldn't interfere in case of a war between Syria and Israel, because of the UN buffer zone. After Israeli provocation increased, Egypt therefore asked for the removal of the UN, in an effort to stop Israeli provocations against Syria. Note, the UN proposed keeping the buffer zone intact, by moving to the Israeli side of the border, but Israel refused. Israel didn't want the UN there. Furthermore, Israeli historians have already agreed that both 1956, and 1967 were "wars of CHOICE". The archives have already revealed the lies still being sold to kids on "History Channel*.

There was no negotiation about the economic use of the DMZ, and Israel therefore forced this issue with a unilateral decision. Israel could have stayed out of the DMZ If they had really been interested in a peaceful settlement of the economic use of the DMZ, they should habe negotiated. And pointing out that Russia backed Syria is bogus. GB and France, and later the USA backed Israel. It was therefore a proxy conflict. Same as Syria or Yemen is today (proxy war). Pointless bringing that up.

From 1980s on wards, the evidence for a "land grab" became so overwhelming that even Israeli PM Begin, and top generals like Moshe Dayan admitted that there was no immediate threat to Israel, and the motivation had been to gain territory.
