  8. Hydrogen combustion engine was invented in 1806, you can download blueprints from internet... This is 218 year old technology... No one is going around and taking out people who claims to have magical technology... Some people simply lie about having magical technology...

  9. Because hybrids are not practical, maintenance costs are quite high on those and you need extra space for all that extra stuff. You can't just combine multiple cars and expect it to be the same as pure ones.

  11. Or... This might be a wild idea, but just listen... Or he lied?... Its physically impossible to use water as fuel... This is not how physics work. What you actually heard is someone using water, then performing electrolysis to extract hydrogen from water and then using that hydrogen as a fuel for a car. So it wasn't running on water, it was running on hydrogen... On top of this, you have to put in a lot more energy into all this process than you will get back from it, so you can't have electrolysis on board of your car. Its 2023, if something like that ever existed it would have been shared on internet straight away... Yet people like you think that there is some sort of lizard people government who tries to control something what was already published to be a thing?... Why the hell all these people with this magical technology never releases blueprints or even explains who all it works? Why its only a empty claim?

  15.  @Bengiatare4real  It's fine to have personal hobbies, you can keep those, just like people can still ride a horse or own old school blackberry phone with physical buttons, but those are exceptions and not the rule, same thing will happen with cars, i don't need to hear your car 10 blocks away, keep that to yourself, play a video game if you really want to hear that special sound of yours and be the rainbow man or something.

  17. You do know that you can charge your car at home over night while you sleep?... And usually to charge BEV from 20 to 80% is like 20-30 minutes, not hours. Please do basic research next time.

  18. And this technology you are talking about, what is it exactly? As you would need some sort of median to store that hydrogen, if it low pressure then you will need something lime metal lattice, which is heavy. Otherwise you would need to chill it down to -252C

  25. I mean, you are not wrong, lithium is history as we had it for quite some time and it looks like new battery technologies are being created which lowers lithium usage or removes it entirely for better solutions.

  26.  @philliplopez8745  At this point we have like a dozen really cool battery technologies, issues is that most of them ends up only being viable on tiny scales or have some huge drawback somewhere, like tiny amount of life cycles. And yea, I have seen that video from Munro you are talking about, if it does what they promise it to do, then it could be huge game changer for entire EV industry.

  28. First of all, update your memo, at the moment BEV's can be recharged in like a half an hour, or like 15 minutes if you are doing that from 20 to 80% or like... You know.... Charged at your house over night while you sleep... There are even batteries in the works which should be able to recharge from 0% to 100% in like 15 minutes.

  29.  @701983  Honestly, both of you are wrong. First of all, there is so much water on earth that it would require few million years if not more to have any noticeable impact. Secondly, it would actually "drain" earth from water. When you convert water into oxygen and hydrogen, well, you only need accident which releases that oxygen or simply realize that due to how small hydrogen molecule is it will tend to naturally leak from any form of container. So any hydrogen which escapes container will rise up and way into space which will be picked up and "blown" away by solar winds, so no hydrogen, no water going back into circulation. But that would take long long long time to do any serious damage, redirect few water asteroids and you basically replenished any lost hydrogen for next few thousands of years.

Wait, does that mean that we could solve rising sea levels by producing hydrogen and releasing it into space?! {It's a joke} So to sum up, we will not drain earth or flood it, change will be more or less unnoticeable and irrelevant either way.

  31.  @701983  That would only tiny bit slow down water "loss". Not much to consider here honestly. I think it's cheaper and more economically viable to just make hydrogen on the site than to try dig some from underground.

Which is more likely "One person creating scam video about magical technology" or "There is magical secret society of lizardmen who steals secret technology AFTER it gets mentioned on social media"? But at the end of the day BEV's creates least of that, even with partial renewable sources. "OR just use a bike and walk when you have the option, just be reasonable with your travels will help" Or not? Car provides quite a bit more convenience than a bike, and this is not a solution to current problem, its just suggestion to use your car less.. Doesn't really impact that fact that car needs to be cleaner than it is now anyways.

  42. Why do you think there are zero mass produced hydrogen cars with combustion engines? Because those are half the efficiency in comparison to hydrogen fuel cells, which are already expensive to fill up.

  43.  @piero17sb  Burning hydrogen will ALWAYS remain less efficient than hydrogen fuel cells, this is just how physics work, so there wont be a moment when going with combustion engine is a good deal for anyone who doesn't want to pay arm and leg for their fuel and for maintenance.

  44.  @piero17sb  Much lower in infrastructure? Are you sure about that?... Because it's the most expensive infrastructure for any type of fuel out there... No cheapest, but most expensive one. Maintenance cost will be high too, as for example every single hydrogen tank has expiration dates printed on them, yes, not by mile driver, but by time. And due to how corrosive hydrogen can be in general you will be paying big bucks to keep that car running. Main waste from hydrogen cars is production of hydrogen and it needs crap ton of energy. This "real" car will be as popular as Blackberry was with its physical keyboard. Hardly anyone even remembers that company anymore... Times change, we don't need cars which can be heard from 10 blocks away just because YOU want to hear that sound. If you do want that sound, then buy a video game, put on headset, turn volume to 150% and enjoy it. Hydrogen cars will not be a thing, and I'm not even talking about combustion ones, I'm talking about the more practical fuel cell ones which are the only ones being produces, and for good reason. Hydrogen is already extra expensive and going with 2x (at minimum) the cost is just insanity even if you like the sound.
