While hydrogen combustion car is basically same as gasoline ones due to the fact that most hydrogen comes from natural gas and you will have to invest even more money into maintenance... So like... How the hell is your comment makes any sense here?

  8.  @chadpunte1731  I'm talking about actual energy storage plant, not a car with hydrogen tank in it... Hydrogen is quite bad when it comes to energy storage, this is why no one actually uses this method, anywhere... You have few hydrogen cars, but that's it.

Water isn't fuel, electrolysis requires shit ton of electricity, aka you will be wasting electricity to produce hydrogen which would be used to produce electricity to power motors... Aka most dumb idea ever. Will simplify things here, you need around 2kg of hydrogen to produce 1kg of hydrogen. Those numbers are not backwards. Do you see potential issue here?

  21.  @701983  I wasn't saying that your carbon tank is a balloon in literal sense, but both of those share quite few things. And it really doesn't matter how strong that tank is, after all you still have bunch of connections which can easily snap off. On danger scale I would oder things like BEV > ICE > Hydrogen going from safest to most dangerous ones. BEV's while being hard to extinguish takes quite some time to actually burst in flames, so you have quite a bit of time to get away. With ICE cars, will those can engulf entire car quite quickly, but still, its better than Hydrogen which would just explode and vaporize you on the spot.

  25. 2 cars in one, can you see potential issue here? Mixing multiple engine types isn't really a good idea, maintenance increases, reliability goes down. Why not simply go with full electric?

It seems that no one is stopping people who wants to claim that they have magical technology, so who stopping those with actual technology? And are you seriously saying that government prevents magical technology by having secret patents?... If i had cure from cancer and government said "You can publish it because we have secret patent on it", what do you think my next action would be?... I would have released all the schematics/blueprints on it accidentally/anonymously and that's that. What is more likely to be true: Government which is made of people who gets replaced every few years hiding magical technology or one single person lying about having magical technology?

  36. Combustion engines reached their peak few decades back. You might have got few tiny improvements here and there, but that's it, it wont go any higher than it is already. You might still squeeze out few extra miles by making cars more aerodynamic or making those lighter, but its not related to actual combustion engine anymore.

There isn't much of R&D to be done anymore, there are basic limitations of hydrogen which can't really be solved, like the fact that hydrogen is really bad when it comes to energy density per volume, or that thing where hydrogen will corrode metals. Hydrogen barely improved from the first car models, while BEV's keeps improving every single year with quite few battery technologies which could make any other transportation method obsolete.

  46. friendly advice, actually research how much pollution each technology creates from END TO END and realize that BEV's are the cleanest option. Old batteries can be recycled to lie 97%+ of its contents and then reused to make new ones. There is no issue currently with old BEV's in landfills, because there are non of those to talk about.

For example, did you know that each hydrogen tank in hydrogen cars have expiration dates printed on them? And hydrogen has that thing called "hydrogen embrittlement" which will, well, embritel metals it gets in contact with. So hydrogen cars are by its nature high maintenance and you can't escape that. Another thing, there is ZERO pure hydrogen on earth, 100% of hydrogen needs to be produced and currently most of it is being sourced from natural gas. It simply doesn't work as much as you (and me) would like it to work.
