  1. I mostly use Esso here in the UK (Unleaded 95Ron,normal run of the mill fuel) as it's closest to me,there is a 97 or 98Ron but that's Super Unleaded ie For performance vehicles. I don't often use Shell or BP ,but i do use it if need be.I very,very rarely use supermarket fuels.Used Esso so much in 30 yrs of driving,my 2002 Yaris which i've owned for 13 yrs had 90% of Esso in the 13 yrs of owning it,never had an issue with it nor any other vehicles i ever had.

  6. My 2015 Yaris is on it's 2nd front original pads,i'm glad the last owner continued with using Toyota pads,the feed & brake wondeful. My old 2001 Yaris needed front pads,i used a different brand....didn't feel as great thou. Well chuffed with genuine Toyota brake pads.

This brings me back to 1989-1994 when i worked for Suzuki and Toyota,Suzuki was worse....as in the were like hard wax sealer/protector over the paintwork,had a tin of wax remover,but it was such hard work removing it.Had to fit the spare wheel holder and spare wheel on the 4x4 Suzuki Vitaras & rear seat belts! Loved peeling of the plastic off the body/paint....lovely feeling.The smell of new cars is sublime.

  10. Here in the UK i had a 2002 Yaris (1NR-FE) 1.3L 4sp auto with 65,000m (with 10w30 for 1st 4yrs then 5w30 onwards) for 13yrs! 90,000m when i sold it. Utterly reliable & a brilliant car,just exhaust & brake pads over the years, did the serpentine belt once 2 yrs on with reg oil changes,Prestone coolant every 4yrs with the P/S fluid,brake fluid only once 6 yrs into ownership, changed the auto box straight away with TYPE4 fluid twice in a week as explained below on my next Yaris. Had no bad rust at all as i sprayed everywhere with WD40 3x a year,the rear beam tends to go out but i looked after mine.....many other cars fail it's MOT (Yearly inspection). I really used copper grease on wheel nuts & contact surface of rotors & rear drums regularly,brake fluid spray properly the WD40 the drum springs. But the road tax was £150 a year thou, it was tough! Best 49mpg just ONCE. Now got a 2015 Yaris 1.3L CVT 88,000m FTSH (Full Toyota Service History)...£30 a year road tax 😃 with 88,000m best 58mpg a few times. Did the CVT fluid straight away.... twice,got a 5L genuine fluid Toyota FE & drained it x2 in a week,it holds 2.2L on each drain & i got the 5L bottle at £65. Servicing is cheap & the ride comfort is much better. Only 1.5L here in the UK is the Hybrid i think, but they're like £2,000 more! Don't go for the real high spec Yaris unless you can afford to replace anything that goes wrong! UK spec can be over the top! I got a lower end Icon model. I didn't like the look of the MK2 Yaris but happy with my MK3,drives smooth as silk! Not poky of quick as it's a fuel efficient car,the CVT does have a power button which is handy.

Decided to service it myself,went to my local parts store with what's needed,i wrote on the paperwork/receipt the miles 7 date when i did the oil and filter,plugs,filter etc..... i did that for 8 yrs. New owner liked that and purchased it,as the car idled,ran & drove perfect! It was a 2002 Yaris 1.3L auto with 90,000m here in the UK. I still speak to the new owner,it passed it's MOT (yearly inspection) last month. I told him it would pass the next MOT.

  13.  @kimdavis5631  Saw a video where an owner didn't change the plugs since new. Got 75,000m,engine light came on,running rough,scanned it.....was the coil! So new coil,1hr labour & tax,owner decided to allowed 4x new plugs,as they were v.bad. Gotta be over $200 easy. Just cause of not doing 4x plugs,worth $20. Insane!

  14.  @kimdavis5631  Diag was with ignition no.4 & swapped it to no.2 then scanned it, issue code went to no.2 coil.....it was the coil. If plugs isn't changed at that miles, the coil or coils will screw up. So you're paying for it to be scanned, parts & labour then tax, for the sake of a set of 4x plugs at 50,000m/4 yrs, madness! Wanna be cheap it'll hurt the pocket! My father never changed his oil filter for 4 yrs, just the oil maybe every 2 yrs if that!, engine failed, never saw that car again lol Money lost for an engine does not compensate for oil & filter change 4 times . Max for 4x oil changes with filters would be £130 in todays money, this was in the late 70's. Sold it for scrap! No brainer.

Worked for Suzuki UK for many years,we "Waved" (Gave for free) a wiper blade for a customer once,he was a nice bloke.One strange experience was after a service,a customer returns and mentions "Why was i charged for a screen wash top up,my screen wash bottle is always full" told him it was part of the service and the manager gave him a concentrated sachet of screen wash,told him that's all we can do.The guy wasn't trying to scam us,was just a querry/concern.hewent away ok,no issues...Oh yeah! heres another one, another customer got their car in for something,can't remember what for,came in with ZERO fuel/petrol in the tank,mechanic said i can't test drive it as it'll break down...i had to put £5...roughly a gallon of petrol in it,fuel station was just over the road....but i put £3 in it instead of £5 lol I found out after getting fuel,the customer said to staff that i'm not wasting my money and petrol for your road test....the lady customer didn't ran out fuel when i watched her driving over the road. Some customers are strange.

  17. Awesome! Just don't drive crazy in it, i assume you don't as it reached 400k. Owned a 2002 1.3L 4 speed with TYPE4 fluid in 2008 (65k) & owned it till 2021 (90k) , i only changed the fluid once roughly around 2016 with 2x drain & re fill with a 5L bottle costing £60. I still talk to the new owner i sold it to & it still drives sweet with 106k.

  19. A mechanic told/showed me many years ago to rub the edges off the shoes & to lightly sand the surface too. I've never done the job myself EVER,too risky for me lol Great advice Amd as always....i'm just not good with fiddly things.

  21. My non hybrid 2015 Yaris CVT 90,000 miles gets 55mpg ave on the motorway here in the UK. Fuel prices are approx £7.80 a gallon! Mental! I did do the CVT FE oil myself of course at 90,000m,did it twice as i had a 5L bottle from Toyota for £59.99, each drain was 2.2L. 1st drain was real black,2nd drain was still black,but not as bad as 1st. Still shifts smooth & sweet. Hybrids are twice as much as normal petrol cars here,for the same make,model,year & miles.

  22. Great video Amd! Just remember folks there are more & more vehicles on the road which will strain the engine/gearbox etc, to me that comes under "Severe driving" which you need to look deeper into you owners manual.

  26.  @PhyuckYew  Toyota's CVT are very reliable,just change the fluid with the proper Toyota FE CVT fluid. I did mine 6 months ago with 90,000,then last week with another drain & refill. I'm from the UK,so it comes in a 5L bottle for £42 and 1L £12,it uses 2.2L per drain,had some left over,but kept the bottle inside my house in the warmth,not in the garage/shed which could cause moisture inside. Only a quarter of the CVT fluid is in the CVT sump,2nd drain i did the fluid was a little more redder than the 1st drain. So worth doing twice in a year. Next drain i'll do will be in 3 or 4 years.

  28. Amd...Question - could you use 5W-20 instead of 0W-20 for 1NR- FE? (2015 1.3L Yaris) The price difference is £5 for a 5L of Valvoline here in he UK.

  30. I still remember back in the day when these MR2's came to our dealership, it was a very futuristic car! But not as futuristic as the Previa! I still loved the Mk1 MR2 which looked different to the US version....the rear spoiler really helped made that car.

  31. Read the owners manual! My 2002 Yaris says 4.5000m SEVERE driving/9.000m normal driving. Majority of us drive in heavy traffic,stuck at traffic lights etc FACT.Here in the UK many people got this 12,000m oil change in their heads lol Don't know why.I've always done mine at 6,000m MAX,use decent quality oil but half decent cheap oil filters every year guaranteed.I've used Forte engine flush in 2009 with 67k,it did a brilliant job! Engine ran much better,nicer exceleration etc,i have the same car today still driving sweet as a nut with 100k.

  36. Kelly Quezada Hard wire kit is cheap enough and worth getting,it's easy to fit too....look on youtube. Best advice i'll give you is it to set it at 5min record intervals and look into what "Class" the SD card is and "Make".Some car cams only like Class 10 or 8 or 6 and some don't like more than 500gb SD card. Do some research to save any future head aches...1440p is the choice to get.

  37. @4.54 My old Yaris 1.3L 2002 didn't go into 4th gear in the cold weather,i owned it for nearly 13 yrs,but 2 mins of driving it was ok,went into 4th no issue after that. Never had any transmission issues with my 2NZ-FE 4 speed, So anyone out there,this is the norm,i concur with Amd.

  40. My mothers drive belt was like glazed,glazed as in it was really shiny and also cracked, wasn't changed in many,many years on a Vauxhall Astra 1994 here in the UK,only had 55,000m I think i was the original drive belt,so a 26 years old glazed drive belt lol

  44. At Toyota we sold loads of the MK1s & 2's in the UK,we had one v.rare Mk2 in a rare yellow with an auto....only 2 in the UK we were told. Years later at a non Toyota dealer i only ever saw 2 Mk3's in stock. I didn't think the MK3's were that great personally.....BUT i heard they were one of the BEST handling cars for the money. The Lotus Elise was very good but real pricey thou.

  45. I'm from the UK & never let my local dealership touch my car! I got a good trustworthy local Jap specialist to do mine. I wanted to buy a Yaris at the dealer,walked about the yard & no one came out so left,next day walked in again,no one about but in their offices on their phones or internet, i left then came back a day later spoke to the help desk who said someone would come out. Someone came out 5 mins later & spoke straight away to someone else....i thought ok so waited 5 more mins then left. I then emailed a different Toyota dealership about a car i was interested in,no reply for 4 days,5th day got a response just saying it was sold....like wtf. Why did a reply take so long? I complained harshly & got a Yaris from a smaller independent garage for £1,000 cheaper! Runs sweet to this day. Got 2 letters from my local Toyota 2 weeks after all paperwork was filed & in my name saying to bring my car in for a service as warranty runs out that year.(They get an update of new owners you see) ...i ignored both letters!

  46. Wow! What a dilemma Amd. 😯 Let us know what the customer decides to do with it. INFO - I had a 2002 Yaris 1.3L 4sp auto here in the UK for nearly 13yrs (66,000m when i got it & 99,000m when i sold it....has 104,000m as of today) & i changed the coolant every 4yrs with Prestone,changed it 3 times in my time. 1st flush was with deionised water to get any old coolant out properly. My old Yaris has never had the head off/head gasket issue,water pump or even a new thermostat....it was 6yrs old when i purchased it (2008) ,it hasn't even had a thermostat in those early 6 yrs either! Sold the car on 3 yrs ago to someone who i still talk to & still no thermostat/head gasket replaced. Regular oil changes every year with Castrol Magnatec & it's still purring like a kitten today. Problem was when i sold it the road tax was £185 a year it was £175 a year prior typical UK greedy government wants us out of old cars. It was £175 a year prior.....as of today it's £255 :hand-orange-covering-eyes: My new 2015 Yaris 1.3L CVT is only £30 a year (prior year was £25). Fuel consumption of old Yaris was BEST 48mpg & new Yaris 58mpg. I did make a good move getting a newer Yaris. Just DON'T believe what it says on the coolant.

I'm from the UK & did my 2015 Yaris 1.3L (98,500m) by filling it up with a garden hose & a funnel, there's room on top of the engine to insert the end of the hose & poured it that way...a bit slow but it did it. If a hose can fit at the top it uses gravity so no need to buy a pump like we see in some other videos.

  50. I take off slowish to normal in my non hybrid,i was behind a Yaris hybrid and it accelerated reaaal slow,i was pretty annoyed. Drivers here in the UK will be very annoyed if hybrid drivers take off slow,not a good idea over here,road rage is common. It does get cold here after mid Sept - March,not many hybrids in the UK really. My non hybrid Yaris 2015 1.3L CVT tyres are 175/65/R15 & i put 35 PSI all round, i get 58mpg on a long run,which is awesome!
