  2. Just changed my plugs after 4 yrs on normal NGK,the tips were just fine,but on the white ceramic it had brown marks,like it was scortched,car ran fine thou.What can cause this?

Always changed my oil every year and less than 4,000 miles for 13 yrs,no issues....i still have the car now.It's a 2002 Yaris 2NZ-FE and it's always quiet,smooth and reliable with no issues at all in the years i've owned it. I rarely rag it ie floor it or drive really fast mad.Toyotas are great! P.S Thanks for letting us know the difference with the blue and black sump plug washer,i got the Toyota blue washer,i really assumed they were used once only.So mush useful info in your videos,much appreciated.

  8. My 2015 Yaris 1.3L Auto CVT came without a spare wheel,other models older came with them thou, so i got an emergency spare wheel lol It's gotta to do with getting better mpg. I get 58mpg before & after i got it.

  9.  @rightlanehog3151  58mpg (Gallon) UK. I get 5mpg extra round town too compared to old Yaris i had,2002 1.3L Auto 4speed Yaris. Road tax (RFL- Road Fund Licence...proper term) is £30 per year,old Yaris was £150. Much smoother & comfy ride too.

  12. I'm from the UK (London) Started to watch your channel when you popped up on my suggestion list a few of months ago. We are very thankful & humbled with the effort you put in your videos,incl all the advice you give us. My 1st Toyota was a 2002 Yaris in 2008 and owned it for 13yrs,it was the best car i ever owned,it was awesome!! I now have a 2015 Yaris.i've had alot of cars in the 30yrs of driving, I'm in the car trade (over 30yrs),i worked for Suzuki,Toyota,Daihatsu,Jeep,Chrysler,Vauxhal (GM),Volvo, Mitsubishi,Proton,Lada and Kia in the valeting dept, i have some knowledge of cars.as i do help our mechanics out,so often and they do pass on their experience too. Thank you.

Octane levels and lubrication aside, premium fuel has the ultimate benefit that is claimed by all the leading brands; it cleans your engine. Cheaper fuels are apparently prone to early ignition in the engine, causing damage and residue in crucial components.

  14. I have a question Amd,whan the car battery is flat and you can either jump start it with a booster or with a charger,is there anything we need to know how to do it.I know where and how to jump start the battery with a booster,just charging it up as it's an automatic.thanks.

  15.  @TheCarCareNut  Oh right,i thought there's a certain procedure as it's a hybrid,charge it like any other non hybrid then :) I have sold my 2002 2NZ-FE 90,000m for £1,000...not bad really.I'm off to my local Toyota dealership here in the UK this week,looking at a 2013 Yaris T4 59,000 miles for £7,000.Thank you for all the advice you've given to me and others on your channel,appreciate it.

  17. Amd, i had a 2002 Yaris 1,3L here in the UK since 2008 until 2021 with the original thermostat and always used Prestone coolant every 4 yrs & never had an issue (3x coolant changes). On every 4th year before changing the coolant it does lose a little of the bright yellowness/radioactive yellow glow. Love the videos ❤

  18. Never flush! Dealerships won't do a flush...i hope. I did my AFT CVT recently, he has a video on how to do it,i watched it & did it all myself, I purchased a 5L CVT FE fluid from Toyota for £42 for 5L. Did it all in 20 mins. I'm no mechanic by far, either, just need a 24mm spanner and a 6mm (i think) hex or allen key. I do a fair bit of maintenance,only simple tasks thou, i used a hose pipe & funnel for put the fluid in, no need for a pump.

  20. Had one like yours, 2002 1.3L 4sp auto here in the UK for 13yrs, just replaced the belt,brakes & exhaust. Water pump never done, just used Prestone coolant every 4 yrs & good decent oil (Magnatec 5w30) 49mpg best.

Nice set up Amd, just how i like it, i've worked in the trade for many years (but not as a mechanic) & you really hit the nail on the head with your business. You always get cheeky buyer who low ball you. 6 months ago i sold my 2002 1.3L Yaris 4sp auto with 90,000 miles here in the UK, sold it to a real nice bloke for £995,my asking price.I could've got £1,200 easy, i still keep in touch with the buyer, it passed it's MOT/ yearly inspection....i told him it would! He loves it!! Sold it at the right price, BUT i'll get time wasters & low ballers, not wasting my time on test drives with cheeky buyers who wants 400 knocked off. Had an inbox from someone who offered £600 lol This was ebay, i replied "lol Dream on". there's plenty going for £1,400 in worse condition & more miles! Had a few cheeky low bids & i told them i had someone looking at it, i'll let you know....which i didn't. I waste their time too lol

  28. I changed my ATF on my 2002 Yaris (UK) 2NZ-FE 5 yrs ago at 80,000 miles,now has 90,000m,should i change it every 4 or 5 yrs,as i do v.little miles.Thanks.

  30. ​ @jessebuenrostro2080  I've owned 2 Yaris's,a 2002 1.3L for nearly 14 yrs,they're great!! Only ever needed mid & back exhaust,front brakes,serp belt and stabiliser links,cheap and easy to do. The the 2nd gen is a good choice too. Do check if it has decent service history. Don't skimp on cheap oil, use a good well know oil brand & you can't go wrong every 5,000m.

Just done mine, i didn't need to remove the plastic cover or the wheel,but did anyway as i went through your step by step video....realized i didn't need to it,as i have space to tighten the 24mm from the top.I used a hose pipe and funnel to fill it up from the top with the hood open of course.My overflow tube was yellow by the way. Thank you Amd.

  40. Jeff,good choice. It'll be real reliable,Camry & Corrola are very similar in service costs,so don't about that. Enjoy the ownership, i can't switch from Toyota (14yrs ago) from now on,they awesome!

  41.  @TheCarCareNut  I've never over do the spraying,just enough to soften any residue,spray some on a rag too & then wipe.Oh btw, i just double checked my ATF level on my Cvt (2015 Yaris) & it's definitely not worth doing another ATF change,it's half decent with a touch of red still. It's spot on with the level. Thanks for all the responses and advice. The do's,the dont's with all the explanation to why really helps us,incl what to look out for & all the hints n tips are awesome!!

  43. This is why inspecting the PCV every 2 yrs,just to get an idea how dirty it gets,it's the most over looked part. I this do on my Yaris here in the UK.

  45. Do use WD40, i do mine 2x a year EVERYWHERE. Had a 2002 Yaris for 14yrs with no rust, the rear beam/bar was in great cond indeed unlike these Fiat 500's which fail it's MOT (Yearly inspection) when they're 8yrs old! My old Yaris only ever failed it's MOT (Yearly inspection) on wiper blades/windscreen wiper blades TWICE.

  46. I change my 2002 Yaris every year,regardless at 4,000 miles.Owned it for 13 yrs now and never had an issue at all.Quiet as a church mouse and smooth a silk still.
