For anyone still don't want to wear masks because you are told it wouldn't work or for other reasons, I just want to say, masks do work, just look at the countries in Asia where everyone wears it, the virus spreads slower there. It helps to protect everyone, the key point is asymptomatic infected people spread the disease while they don't know it and we simply don't know who and where these people are, so we must all wear masks when we go to supermarkets and other crowed places if we have to be, very important!!!

  23.  @williamlynd9045  Yes, people need to get real, there are 80,000 people got infected in Wuhan, a 11 million city, and that is under the condition the city is quarantined in a way unimaginable to the West, think about London, if 80% of the population of London get infected and pretty much all at the same time, what will happen to the NHS and the disruption it causes, so at least if we are doing something now that is disruptive with huge costs but we could save many more lives.

  24.  @davebox588  The people coming off the plane from these countries are one of your sources of exposure, as long as you go to work, take the bus and tube, go to school you will be exposed to them, so shut everything down is the only way to avoid exposure but that is not what the UK gov is planning to do any time soon is it?

Until the coffins started to pile up in churches and army truck had to be called in like in Italy, the British will not take it seriously, when their loved ones start to die in numbers they better don't complain that they are not warned, some people are so stupid! The shocking nearly 10% death rate in Italy is not enough to wake them up that the UK is just the next Italy in the making!

  31.  @MrSparrow12345  Most of us are doing our best to stop the spread by staying in, but what is the point we the good citizen get locked indoors while they let infected travellers walk into the communities without any checks and enforced quarantines like the other countries are doing? And it should be compulsory to wear a mask in supermarkets and workplaces, it is proven to slow the spread, and of course the promised mass testing is not happening either, there is just too little being done by the government, these liars fail us big time!

This virus will spread a lot easier and faster if Western media keep lying to its people not to wear a mask, many many people got infected not wearing a mask in China as droplets could hang in the air for a short time, so in a crowded or confined space, anyone not wearing a mask would be at risk, it is pure ignorant to advise people not to wear a mask at all. This is just irresponsible.

That is not CCP's lies, that is your imagination, most of China's 30 some provinces have no new cases for over a week now, Wuhan's cases are getting smaller day by day, people in China can see this themselves and most of my families there have started working gradually partially because they don't want the bounce back of numbers when full movements starts.

The point they were in sheltered hospitals is to quarantine them collectively away from their non infected family members but they were still monitored by medical staff in case their symptoms worsen, so no that is not herd immunity approach, the herd immunity IS rubbish, no country but Britain has promoted it as a so called scientific approach, to be blunt, it is only to cover up the incompetence and defeatist attitude of the UK government, it is irresponsible, everyone who has common sense knows it is the wrong approach.

Cut the social gathering large or small but still keeping the school open, this doesn't make sense as school is a perfect ground for spreading especially when children probably belong to the most asymptomatic group of spreaders, so they will continue passing the virus onto the parents in the house who are working from home for example or grandparents who are isolating.

  49. China has just developed tests that will produce results in 1.5 hours, UK tests needed to wait for 3 days and now got new tests produce results in 24 hrs, should have done this earlier, be proactive before it is too late.
