  3. Yeah, Sam got destroyed in that debate. And not because the other guy was right. But simply because he gish galloped the hell out of Sam, and most of his lies went unchallenged. And he kept repeating the same lies confidently, while Sam kept stuttering and pausing and struggling to get words out. I know that Sam was right. And the guy was a brainless lying idiot. The issue is, people who don't know anything who watch that will just see Sam being dominated. A bunch of my friends, who have nothing to do with politics (despite my best efforts to educate them) saw this clip and thought Sam was being humiliated for not knowing anything. For many people, who don't know jack about politics or how the government works, the only thing they see is one guy confidently making statements (which were completely false) and another guy pausing and humming and stumbling over his words (who was stating the facts)... and they see the confident guy as being correct because "you can't be that confident if you're not right".

  13. There are NO drawbacks to a higher minimum wage. It helps EVERYONE. Workers get a livable wage, have more breathing room for living. Can afford to spend more on non-essentials and luxuries. This in turn benefits ALL businesses. Grocery stores make much more because people can afford more food. The housing market does great because people can afford to buy homes. Car sales go up because people can finally afford a car and gas. Clothing stores do great because people can buy more clothing in general, as well as specialty clothing instead of just essential "for work" clothes. Entertainment industries (like movies, clubs, etc) would get vastly more business. Health of the nation would massively improve as people would be able to actually GET healthcare.

  14.  @nickthompson1812  That's NOT a drawback to a higher minimum wage though. That's a drawback to rampant unchecked capitalism where workers' rights are not protected. Any company that claims that they have to let staff go because they have to pay more is either lying (especially those billion dollar corporations where a CEO's bonus can pay the salaries of every employee for a year), or they're simply running a garbage business and shouldn't be running it to begin with. If you can't afford to pay your staff a livable wage, you have no right to own a business. Countries around the world hike their minimum wage (which are generally all much better compared to cost of living than America) and employment numbers go UP, not down. Because more people are able to AFFORD TO WORK. Which is a disgusting concept. But especially in America you'll find that in many places it actually costs MORE to have a full time job than it does to rely on welfare. Because they not only make starvation wages, but they have to pay for the commute, as well as worry about daycare and other things. For many people, staying at home with the kids on the government dime is more affordable than actually having a job (or in many cases 2-3 jobs, because pay is so pathetic).

  17.  @AM2K2  Maybe they meant it's stronger in term of infectious rate? So far early studies are showing Omicron to be about twice as infectious as Delta was. But about 10% (on average) less lethal. So it's slightly less deadly, but due to how much more infectious it is, many more people will end up dying. You're basically looking at a 180% mortality rate compared to Delta overall.

He also actively stops people speaking out against him. Employees get fired and hit with lawsuits if they try to say anything negative about him or his companies. He actively sues people who publicly speak out against him (much like the orange cuck does). He cancels Tesla orders to anyone who he's seen has said something negative about him. The idea that Musk is some sort of "free speech warrior" is beyond idiotic. He's just another racist prick who wants to control what can be said. But if Twitter's rules get updated, I follow the rules. I can complain about them, unless Twitter says I'm not allowed to, then I'd have to complain about them somewhere else. But Twitter is a PRIVATE COMPANY, that gets to set it's own rules for what it allows on it's platform. Follow the rules of get banned. It's really simple. But yes, if Twitter did turn into MORE of a fascist, far right platform (because Twitter and Facebook are ALREADY extreme far right platforms), then I'm sure many people would simply delete their accounts.

I know Hollywood has spread the idea of the "filthy peasant", but people back then DID bathe regularly. And they weren't filthy peasants dressed in brown rags. The clothes most poor people wore were often vibrant and colorful, because color was a way of showing status at the time. So they would make their clothes as bright and garish as possible. And much of the reporting (even Sam's take) is that EPIC is striking a blow against monopolies. That's literally not what they're doing. They're trying to hurt Google monopoly in order to strengthen their own. The reporting needs to be that this is one corrupt company with a massive monopoly attacking another corrupt company with a massive monopoly. Yes, it's good to weaken Google's grasp. Of course, the result is EPIC is now getting to tighten theirs. So it's more that control is moving from one corrupt company to another. The heart of the issue, isn't really being resolved.

They're not. They're trying to hurt Google's monopoly so that they can strengthen their own. This is two giant monsters fighting while we're the tiny humans underfoot. No matter which one wins, we lose.

  49.  @johnblunt6693  Oh, there's tons of reporting of the horrific practices of games companies. But of course, most media will never report it because if they do, then they're losing access. Kotaku's broken a couple of stories over the years. And I don't have as much of an issue if it's an exclusive made by the company itself. Sony can put out exclusives for Playstation just as Microsoft can for Xbox (though MS games on Xbox are also on PC for the most part). I mean, it's THEIR platform that they're making the games for. So if they want to push that, so be it. As for devs and their target audience... unless it's the difference between PC and console, the audience will largely be the same. PS and Xbox have the same general demographics. So if a company makes something console or PC exclusive, that makes sense. Though even that's been blurred in recent years. But most of the time exclusivity isn't the choice of the devs.
