Go back to the golden age of growth in the usa when it was 20x the median income in the company that the management team made. Put us back at those pre trickle down economics taxes that made it more profitable to invest in your workers .

I liked the look the first time I saw it. I just wonder what the trailer capacity is. That is more important to me than the bed extension system as I often use trailers.
4
An electric station wagon would sell in the USA. I suspect all 3 would sell well in the USA. Station wagons went out of fashion because the emmisions standards and safety standards are lower in light duty trucks in the USA than on cars. So manufacturers took advantage of that and made SUV that qualified for the lower standards. Any company that has station wagon and features the better range and safety should do well compared to the suv market.

@sourav jaiswal it will be a long time before a lack of demand forces Tesla to lower their prices. I suspect BYD will be in the USA before that date. Given the current inflation in the USA at 7% vs less than 2% in China for 2022 that will drive up the cost for all American manufacturers vs China. I think there is a good chance BYD will be under cutting Tesla in the next few years in the USA
3
I am pretty sure you have to manufacture the volume before you can sell it. To say they can get there by stable prices is illogical
3
Unfortunately the current administration put a 100% tax on them and the incoming administration is raising the import taxes more to keep them too expensive for you.
3
@markplott4820 they do now for years they only got by on government credits from other automotive companies to offset their pollution from fleet vehicles.
3
I would rather see cheaper shorter range cars
3
I don't understand how GM can do this without buying all the spark cars back. Because by law you have to provide repair parts for 20 years in the USA.
3
@paulbarros5149 except that with an EV you can charge it up while you sleep at home so you never have to go somewhere to fuel up like your ICE you apparently hate to take to the gas station. The reality is unless you drive 400 miles each time you leave home you don't need 400 miles range. I drove upwards to 45 miles to work for years in New Hampshire and always figured I only needed 200 miles of range on an EV.
3
Just learning slowly how dangerous it is. We need to welcome all who learn wind solar and hydro are the future.
3
The only way it makes since is that they finially figured out a production issue very late in the quarter. If that is the case the numbers for both will double this quarter. Otherwise you are correct something is seriously wrong.
3
Sure if we want the 1950 accident death rates
3
@Leafbinder someone doesn't understand the difference between raw numbers and percentage per accident. The vehicles today are far safer than the 1950s because they take the impact force not the drivers. Unlike the CT that doesn't take damage
3
Tesla's current 2170 cells in the form of the Panasonic 6752 units supplied in US-manufactured Tesla Model 3 cars have an energy density of 260 Wh/kg.
3
Now we need the growth in manufacturing capacity to fill the deman.
3
Hopefully BYD will sell a LFP powered pickup for a $40,000 or less and force the others to sell for less
3
A square peg fits better in a square hole. Round peg in square hole wastes a ton of space.
3
@dwaneanderson8039 very interesting pretty much the same idea as the super capacitor used with batteries for two different technologies in the same EV that never caught on.
3
Pricing customers out of the market doesn't lower the wait time. It only sets the priority on the wealthiest in our caplistist society.
3
@amateurwizard history is full of examples where a cheaper product replaced a more expensive one.
3
@1Snouser LFP doesn't suffer from thermal runaway no reason to think the battery company that was able to avoid the issue with lithium can't so the same with sodium
3
I live in NH and have never used oil or gas to heat my home.
3
Unless you don't want to support an oligarch.
3
Truth in marketing they could also bring back the firebird.
3
My issue with Tesla is the lack of support for V2H or V2G technology. If I spend thousands for a big battery I want to be able to use it as a backup power supply for my home when the power goes out. For that reason the F150 or Chevy Silverado EV look better than the CT to me.
3
Historically public comments have been just a procedural step. The government only listens to the donors demands not the public's comments. What we need is a 5 year program to end the demand for ff. Heat pumps and renewable energy are what we need to invest in not drilling.
3
@fredwinslow744 two exceptions doesn't change the fact that the majority of Republicans are pro ff and happy to brag about the dependency on the industry. My brother is very much in that category telling me the ff industry will be here forever and how proud he is of all the ways the make his life easy. I know far more Republicans in his camp than the ones who would buy an EV or solar panels. Most conservatives I know who would buy an EV or solar consider themselves independents now not Republicans
3
@fredwinslow744 I don't get why conservatives think the most expensive form of new energy generation is the correct solution. Wind solar and storage is cheaper than nuclear of any type so why would someone who is worried about saving money and wasteful spending choose the most expensive solution?
3
Let's hope the coal plant owners take the hit. Unfortunately I suspect the rate payers in most places will end up taking the hit for their poor planning. I suspect in many countries leaving the grid with solar and storage will be the most cost effective solution
3
@TheJoncic that is funny they clean up leadership in the union. New leadership fights for the working class and you try to use it against the union as a smear. Priceless.
3
Given how much Ford and GM dealers are marking up their trucks I suspect this could sell as you can actually hope to get it direct at the MSRP not 2x MSRP.
3
@hwirtwirt4500 funny how you stopped looking at the books when the company started making a 30% profit margin.
3
Just hire someone to haul it. That will be the most cost effective solution. As to long term leaving the battery in the car might be a good idea as at end of life it might be easier to deal with the EV than the batteries
3
The same 60 billion spent on renewable energy would do far more good than wasting it on nuclear power plants that are half a century old.
3
@iareid8255 I have off grid solar if your grid solar is expensive the power company is profiteering off you because leaving the grid and paying the bank a home equity loan cut my monthly bill in half.
2
If it is a 2023 the vehicle has taken a years desperation lowering the sales cost is just the reality of the situation. Try trading it back in at any other dealership and see what they are willing to pay for it.
2
These batteries should focus on hand tools. Things like chain saws and grinders would definitely benefit from better power to weight ratios and would have better profit margins than an EV as people would pay more for a smaller battery in their hand tools
2
It is about that they will pay for s duramax diesel.
2
They should save money with LFP batteries and go back to the prototype blue in this video not black. That blue looks awesome.
2
@xiebaiqin I hope it has V2H and there is some way past the political issues. I understand what you are saying about DC I can only hope the caplistist class wants trade to continue. I also hope it has decent towing capacity I need about 10,000 Lbs at 150 miles. Unfortunately it is demanding but it is what my small farm demands. If it would match a Chevy duramax for 15 gallons of fuel on a charge with the same trailer it would meet my needs without having to stop and refuel.
2
Horrible idea boosting stock prices comes from things that damage most companies things like stock buybacks instead of better employee pay or new manufacturing equipment.
2
If you use the same standard for an ICE you will never buy new
2
Sure remove the 100% government inport tax on then same as the ICE market. Let's see who win in a free market when the cost of a new EV is the same the world over.
2
@markplott4820 I believe Tesla existed for many years before 2022 without making that profit margin was the point. But sure limit your world view to one year. History is irrelevant
2
LFP and Sodium ion are the future.
2
So basically Elon wants to make the current energy crisis way worse with all his new demand
2
Those plants are half a century old. The same money spent on renewable energy will put more power on the grid for longer.
2
If you need transportation for 12 months you buy a used car
2
@davidhumeston5292 I was simply pointing out that we will be supply limited for the foreseeable future it is a growth industry no need to take that as defeatist
