@hamzamahmood9565 They are launching more BECAUSE OF THE POLITICS. Their costs per launch are overblown, and their launches are mainly for their own satellites. Russia would destroy those launch costs, and it eventually will, when there will be a free market yet again. But until then, Musk will be getting subsidized by the US government (which costs manyfolds more to the US taxpayer), he will be the king in launches.

Didn't actually see it. I only saw dust/ sand. I don't think you would see much bits of it, as it would literally just dissolve as far as I understand.

Great video, thank you Thunderf00t

@theScholar74 Yes. There are 3 designs - 3 rocket, 3 engines and 2 boosters as far as I know. If I understand correctly, the: Starship V1 - rocket v1, booster v1, engine v1. 30 - 50 tons (not supposed to work).2022. Starship V2 - rocket v2, booster v1, engine v2. 100 - 150 tons. 2025. Starship V3 - rocket v3, booster v2, engine v3. 200 - 250 tons. 2027? But so far not a single design was proven...

I've calculated that the price of going to Mars right now theoretical per person is around $10 billion , the projected cost of going to the moon is 1 billion, going to the Earth's orbit/ ISS is ~ 100 mil. So it's close to one order of magnitude (x10), so for him to make the price of going to Mars at $100k he would have to reduce it from current price by 10 000 times... Which means by Elon pricing is 100k to Mars, 10k to the Moon, and 1k to the ISS... which is impossible.

Thank you Tfoot. My island of sanity in this almost insane world.
2
Same lol. I was half expecting it and was kinda ready for it to some degree... but not to that level of derangement degree lol. I was hoping he would make a video on SpaceX update or something...
2
@RustyDust101 the point is that you can't extrapolate from 1 data point. and 2 data points gives no meaning to the data, as it's a linear graph. You need at least 3 data points to extrapolate and make an estimation. And ofcourse the more data points you have the better.

* cough * government and special military * cough * satellites * cough *
2
I mean I don't really mind it. Whatever floats your boat, as they say. But it just wouldn't work in the real world.
2
@zachb1706 It wasn't though. They rely on it being reusable. Having half of your ship burn off in the atmosphere doesn't speak reusability to me. ( you need to completely replace the ship).
2
@mherr77m Shuttle and Starship are of different designes but they face the same goals of reusability. Their problems are actually quite similar, delivering a large thing from space to earth and therefore even heat tiles are the same. It's shape and it's metal composition is different yes, but the idea is the same. And if we are being honest with ourselves, shuttle was a much more successful program than Starship... judging just by the results...
2
@pldaniels it did not land intact. That's the thing. They've literally missed every single goal. AND didn't test to the the highest specs. Just a reminder, they' didn't reach full orbital velocity yet ( though I admit it was within 1%) but they'd have to face much higher speeds of reentry into the earth atmosphere coming from any other planet or the Moon back to earth. So they've practically tested the lightest possible reentry condition and even that didn't go according to plan: 1 Engines failed. 2 Camera feed failed. 3 Tiles fall off. 4 Flaps and metal burnt off. 5 Not landed at the expected site. 6 Telemetry wasn't working correctly. 7 Had to jettison upper stage ( not full reusability). 8 Also tower damage more than expected. etc etc etc and that's just from the top of my head... But just to be clear, this rocket IS a test rocket. So supposedly it was "designed to not work" from the get go. So right now we are waiting for the "V2" rocket design. Which is the one that is "supposed to work"... So all of this talk is irrelevant until we actually see how the supposed "V2" design of the rocket works... It supposed to deliver stuff to the orbit and supposed to work the first time, and it's supposed to launch next year... So we shall see how it will go... only time will tell...

His body language too. It communicates that he is lying , and he is ready to go into full defense mode with some more lies ,but being surprised that nobody had caught on to him yet.
2
Apollo program was being done first time in the human history. This time he is working on the shoulders of giants.
2
It's not silly, it's just difficult and expensive. But the rewards is many folds exceeds the difficulties that it would bring to the human kind.
2
Thanks for your message. 👍👍I completely agree with you.
2
@lastofmygeneration He is right on some stuff only the other half is there just for the sake of h, 8tin on Elon for the sake of it without any objectivity.
2
@ pretty sure I was first who had watched the whole video to begin with. His points were mute. i. e. he didn't even understand what Musk was saying with his argument with an astronaut. That Musk could have done it earlier, and he proposed to do it but got denied by the previous admin. If they cared for their lives, they could have done it earlier... And that point completely flew over Tfoots head.
2
@JamesBrown-f9g We are not his fans. You are confusing his lovers with Tfoot h, 8ters... which is pretty much the same thing, the other side of the same coin. We are not part of the either club. We are looking at things objectively. And objectively because of his h, 8 now he has an Elon derangement syndrome.
2
@werrkowalski2985 Yep. Something like that obviously already in place.
2
Ok, so you are now officially a Russo Phobe. Obvious dislike is obvious.
2
@FunkySpaceLord I presume it's the freedom of speech win. And I am in 100 % support of it too, and I wish he would bring it here too. Since most of my messages are being censored... It is absolutely an NK style distilled bubble, of what is not allowed to be said on y. t...
2
@ I would GLADLY 100% take it please. I would even take the "non free" Chinese or NK "non freedom of speech" compare to what we have here now. Did you hear me? more than half of my messages are CENSORED. I'm not saying about 90% of what I want to say and I'm still being censored in more than half of the cases.

Someone needs to calculate whats the probability of it combusting. My rough estimation that it should happen once every few years (depending on many factors), so it should occur in the next 2 - 3 years. Good thing (I guess) is that that tunnel will only kill whoever is in that part of the tunnel at that moment... so theory ...not that many... unless it goes massively south.
2
What's that got to do with anything? And how is this relevant.
2
@DarkMatter2525 He wasn't talking about Musk though. He made it about politics. The election, Trump and etc. and sprinkled in some Musk into it...
2
@rebeccaaaaaaaac I think we are all saying that it's our cup of tea UNTIL he got an Elon derangement syndrome. It was fun to some degree too, especially when he was busting hyperloop and roadsters etc. however it had crossed every red line at this point. That instead of objectivity we get just pure and adulterated Elon h, 8 with no objectivity.
2
100% 👍
2
No live stream for this launch?
2
Not just that he is not an Amerocan... He is a Brit who ran away from his own country and made his home country turn to s. Not a good look for him, lets be frank about it here.
2
In came out as a Russo phobe just a few months back. So you can ignore his points about Russia and Slavs in general as he is clearly clueless about politics. His best bet is debunking con men where he can prove it and point to their lies with physics. But he is clearly clueless about politics.
2
Now wait for fearthers to accuse you of disproving a your theory because your result was 31k instead of 40k lol.

@ you don't agree that he is spreading leftists agenda that brought the US and the people ( the majority) to it's knees?
1
@ 5 of my comments in this thread alone got removed. I can't even defend myself. ☝👍 Left can only win because c. Ensor every single opinion outside of their own. Austrian painter would be proud of them.
1
@ "Woke" represents the leftists ideology. Russian communists of the early 20th century were also "woke". They obviously didn't call themselves that. But they were acting in the modern accords of the woke ist agenda. Which is the exact same modern but an evolved one of the modern day. It's just convenient to call it that for what they call themselves by themselves. Just like the communists did. Doesn't mean that they are communists themselves but they adhere to the communists values.
1
@WarlockX4 He had bet on him going bankrupt in 5 years like a few years ago. So according to his calendar it should be 1 or 2 years more. But he obviously isn't going bankrupt now, so now he is even more mad, so he will be focusing on him even more lol.
1
Will there be a stream?
1
@Diviance that's precisely why you have b10 labs inside ex soviet states like ukr. .You get free specimen for you experiments, and because it's drenched in corruption you can get away with a murder. ( There has been many proofs, but they obviously get immediately silenced and censored...)
1
That is actually very scary of what he has said. Because he is basically inviting NATO to start a nuclear war.
1
@ That's only the beginning. But that's not the point. That's tens of billions per year... Like no matter how you slice it. That's alot of money. You can do alot of good things with just a billion dollars for the US, I promise you. And if you can't, I am willing to take that job myself. Give me 1 billion and I will promote and make sure that the good will of the US is being seen and heard all around the globe. Like I don't know how to tell you guys that, but 1 is alot of money. Installing a water well in some random African village only costs 1 to 10 grand. With one million you could literally install one thousand of those and promoted the good image of USA and promote peace and democracy etc. I could give plenty more examples of how to do it... The point is, it is absolutely doesn't have to be 50 billion. That money was used for money laundering schemes. That's the entire point, and not for doing good things or promoting anything.
1
He had ran away from his country many years ago. And now just ' itting on other countries politics that are trying to fix it lol.
1
by whom?
1
@joshieecs My beliefs are based on the evidence. I don't get it, do you disagree that those lab's exists? Do you disagree that they work on the viruses? It's not really a secret and pretty much an open to public knowledge. The only speculative thing here is the pathogens that they are working on atm and their progress with them, you won't find any of the secret stuff being researched in a public domain for obvious reasons. However there were leaks by whistle blowers... you just have to listen to them.
1
His information about Russian nukes is completely wrong and concerning. Since it's basically an invitation that he uttered from his mouth for NATO to start a nuclear war. And that can never be a good thing (especially for him) . But if you had to know Russia has revised and modernized all of it's 100% of it's nuclear arsenal recently.
1
windrose5988 ehh so how did that Mars colonization by Elon Musk go? we've already established it? Like Elon had promised us? or how's the deer moon program goin etc? He did not accomplish many thing with his Space X. Main of which is a very cheap orbital deliveries. It is not... it is more expensive than the Russian non reusable ones. He hasn't achieved anything outside of actually launching his falcons.
1
@kingbugs3558 how is it not proved??? look at all of the previous elec. where did all those votes come from? and where did they go in this elec. ? just disappear? It was an obvious fraud.
1
But they already do have reusability on their Falcon rockets though. So it does work. Although admittedly you would still need to calculate your actual costs per launch. As just making it "reusable" doesn't just magically makes everything cheaper. As you still need to do maintenance checks... get it off, on pad , replace the parts that you need to replace... etc. so you have to pay for it. And from the way it looks, even with reusability, he can't get it less than 50 mil per launch. Which means that he wouldn't be able to make Starship less than 200 mil per launch ( which is 10 times less of what it currently costs now, around 2 bil per launch), which is the exact amount of money for a proposed Russian alternative called "Yenisei" ( and $15 billion the full Russian moon program) rocket, which is a non reusable normal rocket. So his "cost savings" by using a "reusable" rocket are quite dubious at best.
