  9. Thanks for the memories Vanessa. Lyme Park was a day out for us when I was a child. In those days I found the Cage frightening as it seemed to loom over us! A little later in life I rambled and hiked in Cheshire and the Peak District and remember White Nancy very well. I'm happy that your gas problem is now sorted out.

  16. Vanessa - you embody another tip and it should be your number one! That is your positive attitude and always facing things with a smile. This will get people a long way in whatever cirumstances they live! As to your children moving away, consider it a tribute to the way you have brought them up. I know from experience (both ways) that it's hard. We moved to a different country from our parents some 45 years ago; in turn a few of my children have moved to other countries. It's a lot easier to deal with it these days when there's Zoom and Facetime, etc. Good luck with everything.

  19. The peregrine falcon looks so majestic, looking down on the mere mortals below. The big freeze of 1963 changed a lot of things, personal as well as general. I was 17 years old and remember it well. Many people had falls, broken limbs, etc. and some were ill from the sheer cold. Not too many people had any form of central heating. So many things! I'm rambling. Sorry!!

  29. I'm also a "night person" - such a peaceful time to be able to work. Everyone who knows me knows that "I don't do mornings"! However, on the odd occasion when I do wake up early it's a whole different world out there! As always, I loved your vlog. Happy to see that Zephyr got compensated for the lost ball!

From looking forward to seeing you on the Manchester Ship Canal, to "heart in mouth" as you battled the winds of Storm Lilian and then sharing in your exhilaration as you progressed. Then the comparative tranquility of the River Weaver and the beautiful footage of wildlife. To top it off, laughing at Zephyr's antics and determination to bring that branch down to size. Wonderful.   39. That was quite a storm! I'm happy that you found somewhere comparatively quiet to moor. What a bonanza for Zephyr! All those balls. She was so pleased with herself. You know, I always feel a bit sorry for the herons and other fish-eating birds. They don't have time to enjoy their food. One or two gulps and it's gone!! A very boring way of eating!😋😋

  41. Your philosophy of cooking (and cleaning) resembles mine! I either throw things together and hope, or look at a recipe and then adapt it to what I have in the house. The most difficult thing is when I make something for someone else and they like it and ask for the recipe!🤔🤔 "Errrrm!! It doesn't have a recipe!!" 🥰🥰 Thanks for another wonderful video.
