  13.  @michaelpettersson4919  Taiwanese distinguish themselves by calling themselves "Taiwanese" same with Chinese from Singapore are "Singaporean" or "Singaporean Chinese". "Chinese" usually just means mainland Chinese, that's why they don't use it.

  14.  @mah7961  no they don't. But the culture of showing off and gambling is so rampant it's inevitable. Chinese also attach your self worth to how much money you earn. That's why they are shameless in asking you your salary. Because they're trying to figure out how much respect you will be afforded. So putting out an image of "success" already guarantees you will be in the hole whether you actually succeed or not remains to be seen.

  27. Kpop and K dramas dominate Asia. The only thing that China produces that people tune into are their historical dramas which after a while all start looking the same like Bollywood films.

  28.  @poledancemay  Taiwan is just China if they became democratic and were introduced to more progressive values. But when I went to Taiwan, I also saw uncivilized behavior. For example, when I was in the train station, random people were sprawled out on the floor waiting for the train to come. At some point you just have to accept that this "Chinese behavior" is innate in them no matter where they come from.

  29.  @DD-rs6mn  They're talking about values. Japanese value quality and craftsmanship and the Chinese don't. Before you say otherwise, name a Chinese company that has lasted for a hundred years that has become synonymous with quality? I can't think of any of the top of my head.

  31. If she truly wanted to keep the oil for recycling, then why not put it in a separate receptacle? Why throw it in the garbage to get later? I don't understand their lack of logic when it comes to this. It's truly bizarre. Restaurants in the West have containers for oil that has been used because it can't be thrown down the drain by law since it clogs pipes and is harder to filter out even in the treatment plant.

  33.  @dannyzero692  Not true, China has multiple ethnic groups that also vied for power. Ever heard of the Mongols or the Manchus? They weren't Han Chinese but they were able to consolidate power at a point in time.

  37.  @freeman10000  Yeah, Chinese food isn't even that hard. All their dishes literally have soy sauce in everything, maybe oyster sauce and Hoisin sauce. There's not a lot to it.

  38. When compared to Taiwan, Mainland Chinese don't have a lot of sub groups with interests. In Taiwan, you have gamers, motor cycle enthusiasts, fitness enthusiasts, volunteer groups etc. China does not have any of those unless they want to make it political as usual.

  47. Except the actual owners aren't in China. They are in the US, so in essence they can just relocate the "farm". Maybe they shouldn't piss off the owners if they want jobs.
