  1.  @THETRUTH-BR  That's a naïve stance of someone unfamiliar with China. It has a historic role of non-intervention outside of Asia. Other than being a powerful trading country and potential superpower, there's not a lot of soft or hard power options available to Beijing because it's no going to use military force or economic sanctions like the US, UN, and EU does. The geopolitically and diplomatically neutral states and NGOs are mostly in Benelux Europe, the Hague, Swiss, Finland, and UN organizations. The CCP is more aligned, economically, culturally, and politically with Moscow. It could influence its junior partner: Russia, but Beijing leadership have no credible leverage to bring Ukraine, US, EU, and NATO to negotiate any settlements of a European War.

  2.  rui edc  There's an American proverb that goes, "F-around and find out." It the CCP or Russia touches anything with an American flag on it, they'll lose the entire hand. If you don't want Mainland China or Russia to become a radioactive wasteland, then don't toy with a nation that much more powerful. Unlike, Russia and China, the US has something called "allies." If Russia and China had real allies, they could be taken seriously.

  4.  rui edc  This distant future fantasy talk is getting boring. If any of your opinions and claims were true and accurate, then you'd have valid examples. Right now, it's too premature to suggest either Russia, the CCP, or any other group of nations are comparable to the US hegemony. If you want a real life example of the nation that dominates global affairs, look at Ukraine and Taiwan. The future of both of those nations are dependent on who's in the White House, not the Kremlin or Beijing. That's real power projection and no other state can exert that kind of geopolitical influence.

  6. The thumbnail about the world running out of weapons is ridiculous. Ukraine has weapons systems from all over the world. Most of them are Soviet-Russia era, and without modification are incompatible with newer weapons from the West.

  16. It could be different. I mistakenly thought that Poland and Hungary were similar and didn't fit in the EU, but now there more pro-Ukraine and anti-Putin than Germany. Poland's location and history explains why they take border integrity so seriously, but if they didn't want to be part of the European Union and NATO, they would have never joined.

Why would they not do anything when they have the opportunity to see Russia from destroying itself, its reputation, and its economy? No one in the West ever claimed that Ukraine, as a non-NATO country, was ineligible for economic and military aid.

If there's any credible proof it would be good to see it, but the lab release wouldn't explain it being concentrated in the Wuhan Meat Market, instead of the lab and family members of the Virology Lab scientists.

  37. That's an impressive pledge from Germany, and it's comparable to the leadership in confronting Russia that has been primarily from Washington, London, and Kyiv. Berlin and Brussels will be crucial in defeating Vladimir Putin. When the EU-Russia trading relationship ends, including the dependence on Russian gas, then Russia will no longer have enough government revenue to finance their war to exterminate Ukrainians.

  45. I keep repeating it daily and starting to sound like a broken record, but the German-led European Union is an emerging superpower. Russia is using its energy resources to hold the EU hostage, but ultimately the EU will survive and transition to another source. Russia will have fewer customers, and its new trading partners will know what to expect when there is a dispute with the Kremlin. There's short-term pain for the West, but the Russian economy is virtually gone and they've lost decades of accumulated wealth and economic growth. This strategy of economic warfare has already destabilized the Russian economy and weakened the Ruble/U$D exchange rate. This miscalculation will end up hurting the Russian and Ukrainian people the most, but when the EU is less dependent on Russia for oil, the Kremlin and its corrupt Oligarchs will never have the opportunity to hold a superpower hostage again.
