@rustynuggets What video do you mean? All the videos Jimmy has done on this issue include Aaron or his colleagues at Gray Zone. It's at the center of the controversy.
4
@rustynuggets A question for you, just a hypothetical: suppose a woman boss deliberately flashes a male subordinate, in the modern workplace, 2021. We stop the frame right there. Who harassed whom? Just curious.
4
@rustynuggets You'll have to ask Ana and Cenk why they quickly pulled down the defamatory video and why Ana tried to threaten Dore to get him to stop talking about their smear. Only Ana can tell you.
4
Did you listen? Is the information incorrect? Lol
4
@Drew7s It's not confusing at all. A person can be fired for making the joke Jimmy made. This is a fact. He acknowledged his error and apologized. The person targetted by a joke like this does not usually have a viable lawsuit for sexual harassment on the basis of that single joke. There might be exceptions. In this case in particular, Ana would not have had a lawsuit. People have explained to you why.
4
@alphasylpheed3861 WHEN did this allegedly happen? It was relevant, in 2021, to their dispute concerning Aaron Mate's journalism -- how?
4
I confuse Ben Shapiro with that guy on The Big Bang Theory, or whatever it's called.
4
CaliforniaCheez You are out of your mind. Guns can be regulated. Texas has a gun safety and marksmanship standards for CC licensing, and a person has to be 21 for concealed carry. Where do you get this nonsense that a MINOR has a "constitutional right" to carry an AR-15? Then I guess every school shooter did, too.
3
CaliforniaCheez He is a deeply delusional 17-year-old high school dropout who has never held a real full-time job, who confuses the Internet with reality, has been credibly accused of hitting girls, and of course has no father in the picture. And you're egging people like that on. THIS is who should show up with major firepower? "To help?" Newsflash: real security guards are of age, trained, licensed, bonded and insured. If any adults put him up to acting as security, or provided him with that firearm, they should face charges.
3
@msimon74ify Apparently, support for lynch mobs has not died out.
3
At-will. They can tell you on Friday not to come Monday and escort you out.
3
This started with TYT's smear of Aaron Mate. Also, do cagey, dishonest people write their apologies out on paper? They don't. We all know that.
3
A lot of Israelis are opposed to Netanyahu. That's what this is about.
3
Oh I get it. Signalling troubled marriage. Took me a while.
3
They are only 12 or 13? My father didn't give me Everything You Always Wanted to Know About Sex But Were Afraid to Ask until I was a high school graduate.
3
This is a "meeting?"
3
Well, some of us had two married parents and were very close to them. Should we diss those who didn't? Should we say they don't really understand family life?
3
@jesuschrist9933 "Self-defense" does not apply to all the charges brought, only the most serious. An investigation will be needed to find out whether he provoked others. You cannot play a role in creating a danger and then claim you acted in self-defense to protect yourself from that danger. So they need to find out exact the time line. Also, they did set bail. I don't see anything political here, except on the part of people who praise Rittenhouse for killing "scumbags."
3
How is trans even an issue in a typical workplace? Are you a therapist, a social worker, a high school teacher, a personal trainer? Do auto workers or electricians or roofers or construction workers have to worry about this now???
3
@ashleyjohansson230 Oh my goodness are you behind the times. That may have been true back in 2014, though I doubt it. It may even have been true in 2019. Today? Whoa.
3
@petergonzalez1719 I was just sense oared for mentioning three stories banned from social media that turned out to be true. Guess which ones? One of them resulted in Intercept-founder Glenn Greenwald having to quit that journal on principle, when they sense oared him. Another had something to do with 2021 and begins with the letter before w.
3
Because it makes sense to carry large guns to protect . . . unoccupied, parked cars?
3
@rdub5999 No, a 17-year-old cannot join the military without formal parental consent and without a high school diploma. And you think the military does not impose DISCIPLINE?
3
Listen, that's the picture of a guy who has no idea how to use Twitter. Or other "modern" things.
3
Who is this? Some fool like Vance, who is obsessed with what other people do in their personal lives?? And even more obsessed with what someone else might think about them and their most personal choices -- or tragedies for that matter?
3
Sure. A warning is standard in many fields and has been for decades. They get performance reviews that flag their problems long before they are canned.
3
They disabled the down vote.
3
@janeztomazic5546 Thank you. I don't care for this mudslinging. Whenever someone does something really wrong (like, say, TYT -- or Gov. Cuomo), the playbook is to cook up a workplace "sex scandal." Mate should sue. Then they will all shut up on the advice of counsel.
3
Wow. And I thought TYT's progressive viewers were against holding people at Guantanamo. . . . I'm for giving Guantanamo back to the Cuban people.
3
I guess a lot of people didn't realize that asking Putin why, if all he said were true, he didn't attempt to stake a claim to Ukraine 20+ years ago, was seen by Putin as hugely aggressive. How does anyone miss this?
3
Back to Howard Stern Hour.
3
@pariah_carey Show me a burned down city. A small one is fine.
3
💯
3
@longshot7253 If you're talking about the Sandmann settlement, the amount was undisclosed. Sandmann did not do anything to subject himself to media attention. His life wasn't a matter of public concern. This story most certainly is a matter of public concern because Rittenhouse has been arrested in three shootings, and reporters have a First Amendment right to express their opinions about what happened.
3
Do you mean the misleading excerpts TYT shows? Ha, ha, you're a riot.
3
@rustynuggets If Ana needs money, she should auction Jimmy's note.
3
@rustynuggets Nothing. It's a diversion from Aaron's reporting of inconvenient truths about Syria. That's exactly why Ana brought it up. As diversion.
3
@rustynuggets I understand. You can't find war zones on the map. But a manufactured sex scandal that ended years ago is always fun to get outraged over.
3
@thrillhouse1980 No. This is about what was done to Aaron Mate, and everything else is smokescreen. It's like arguing about how bad it is for Bill Gates to ask a Microsoft employee on a date and graciously accept no as an answer, when all the while Gates was spending a lot of time with Jeffrey Epstein, and spreading out millions on Epstein's advice. Not to mention a whole lot of other things Gates mucked up.
3
@thrillhouse1980 Oh REALLY? Perfect. Now we know what credence to place in your comments.
3
@thrillhouse1980 Well, Ana thought Aaron Mate, an award-winning journalist who worked for The Nation and Democracy Now, was important enough to smear. Then, when Jimmy defended Aaron, Ana thought it was serious enough to throw some years old sexual harassment allegations at Jimmy. We would have to ask Ana why it was that important. I'd love for her to be asked by Aaron's lawyers, at a deposition.
3
@kbcmighty Or at least it explains why they didn't fire Jimmy or reprimand him on the spot. Let's say her story is not pristine. 😅
3
@Drew7s Um. Jimmy gave her a written apology and a small gift. I think he agrees his joke was inappropriate in the workplace. Why is she bringing it up now? Why didn't she deal with it then? Maybe because of what @kbcmighty said? Possible counterpoint? Can I go to work in a sheer slip and then sue the harassers?
3
The reporter on the ground is Aaron Mate. Just a little heads up.
3
Maybe you ought to listen to Glenn Greenwald. You might understand how people who care about truth and a free press and civil liberties view this incident. He does not make it about personal drama.
3
Your feelings get to decide who gets to go to university, or be released from prison?
3
@nxbis Oh gawd, this really was the funniest post of all. That is hard to do.
3
@mikec3971 Most people are not at either extreme, are they? And suppose she were abysmal? This is just one job. So what? That was precisely my point: their approach made it sound as though she had something wrong with her. Vague does not mean neutral or objective: on the contrary, it lends itself to drawing worse implications than a straightforward approach. Sorry, I don't go for Newspeak. Find better scriptwriters.
3
She should go into law.
3
@jmpXor Especially the bit about not wanting to get Jimmy fired. She just subtly tried to stir up trouble in Jimmy's marriage, and only brought this incident up after smearing Aaron Mate, who JD defended, of course. All in all, I hate mudslinging, especially based on alleged sexual harassment, when Ana's career was never held back because of it. Aaron Mate should sue TYT. It's calmer and more civilized. It also makes people shut up on the advice of counsel.
