  3.  @jonathangrayson9626  but what's the POINT of getting better? Ask yourself and BE HONEST, look at all the things you do in life that lead back to why?...to get laid. Why do I work, why do I have a career? So I can have money, for....clothes and cars and a home and ALLL the stuff we buy, but why do we buy the stuff? To make yourself more attractive to the opposite sex and reproduce. If you strip away all the things you do just to get laid, you'd be alone in the woods, growing your own food, making your own clothes, not working, not learning, not doing anything really. If I knew for a fact there was no one out there for me, I'd do that in a second, I'd abandon society, because all of it is solely for sex and kids. Think about it really, it's all you do all day, we're that conditioned. You need this car, why, because it's popular and it'll get me attention. Wear this shirt, not that plain but functional one. Eat at this restaurant but not that one. Be nice to that person even though you hate them. If you stop caring about getting laid, you have to disengage and remove from society, it's the only way. You can't leave the game while still living in the game.

My new boss, Zoomer, forced my workplace to close for Thanksgiving "So we can be with our families, since I had my son I realized I want to spend more time at home...", and meanwhile we're all childless guys older than him, and I broke the news to him some of us want to work the holidays to get away from the homelife. Not everyone's family is the rosy picture you have, brah. Going to work is the escape for some of us. It's all for the BUDGET, if we work we get paid double time instead of just holiday pay. We normally run 7 days a week/365. This was the first holiday we've had no one working in the 9 years I've been there. We operate a water treatment plant, and being closed that day meant the next day's guy had to work a 16 hour shift to catch up to demand.

One of my older sisters worked for a local school district...turns out she thought their family was struggling so she embezzled tax money, and got busted, arrested at home, the whole deal, barely avoided prison. That's when it came out her husband, basically an adoptive father to me, my brother in law, revealed he had a sizable hidden savings account he'd been building his entire life that no one but him knew about, that he was keeping in reserve IN CASE they ever did actually struggle, BUT NOW it's gone because it had to go to fing restitution and legal fees. I love my sister and she's always been so responsible so it was a huge shock to the family, and was a felony conviction that changed her life, all for NO REASON. They didn't NEED the money...she WANTED the money, and was willing to steal it from kids, sheesh.

  8.  @therollingstone9701  My brother in laws last wife kidnapped his two sons and absconded with them to the UK, no extradition for custody. Nothing he can do. That was THIRTY YEARS AGO, he's never seen his two sons in that time, he has great grandkids he's never met. So yeah, talk about abusive vs Kind-hearted exes lol.

  10. Can we clarify, what does attention from women MEAN? I keep hearing it. TO ME, attention from women would be them touching me and asking me out. So for me, 40, rich, in shape, I get ZERO female attention, and I never have. Am I supposed to be looking for more? If she doesn't tell me in words I don't assume anything, never have. Whereas I'm straight forward and direct, hey I like you, I'm attracted to you. Can we get some actual instruction please, some of us with great loving fathers got nothing BECAUSE we had great loving fathers, who never dated lol. My dad's advice for dating was never stiff a hooker, never get married and never have kids SON.

  12. The dowry is the INCENTIVE to the man to give up his freedom and choose the bride. The garter belt taken off the bride by the groom is thrown to the men like a bouquet to see who's getting married next. Women get walked down the aisle, they get a man, their father, to HELP them along that way to the altar, but the groom walks that aisle ALONE. She can only read her own issues into the symbolism, she misses the other sides of things.

  18. I tried to stand up for a woman in trouble once. Here's how that worked out: Junior year of high school, homecoming dance. I'm leaving, and down a hallway I see the following scene playing out, young woman I've known since preschool being held against a wall by her throat by her boyfriend, she's begging to leave, he's telling her she's not leaving, she's crying. [She is white, he is black, this is relevant only later]. I "do the right thing" and walk to them, put a hand in his shoulder and tell him to let her leave if she wants to leave. He grabs me and throws me down. I get up and tell him again to back off. He lets her go and she leaves. I leave. Fast forward to the follow Monday, I'm called into the superintendents office, with the police there, I'm expelled and being charged with assault for grabbing the guy. It's his word against mine, he's a star basketball player and I'm just a regular fuckup, so no one cares what I say. Of course she refuses to say anything. He even accused me of 'attacking' him for being black' I ended up going to court, getting probation and community service, being expelled for a full half of Junior year and having to make that up to graduate on time, and learning the strong lesson of doing the right thing is often a bad idea. I hate to say it, but I wish for my well-being I'd just walked away and thought oh well, she choos to be with him, that's what she gets, and she stayed with him through senior year BTW.

  19. The difference is, you could choose tomorrow to suddenly want a family, and have like a dozen kids, and everything would be good. A 54 year old woman does not even remotely have that option. I had a coworker, retired now, who started his SECOND family at 60. He has adult kids in their 40s almost 50s, and now they have a little 8 year old half brother with the 20 something he married, I think it's inspiring. I want kids, but I'm ONLY 41, for men these days that's still relatively young, for women these days that's ANCIENT, I look at women near my age like "UGH? HER?"

  23. True, but the POINT of getting on the grind and making money IS for hookups and even dating success. If it wasn't, most men would be unemployed loners. If I had zero hope at all about it, I'd be in a cabin in the woods, coming to civilization every few years to vote in elections, or self-delete. If you stop and ask yourself through the day "Why am I REALLY doing this task" and you'll find a HUGE part of your day is filled with things you're doing to look good to other people and improve your life, love or otherwise.

  24. I have flowers growing in my farm, I'd hope a good woman would be far happier receiving those because they mean more. I know eating food I raise myself means more to me, tastes better, feels better, than anything I've ever bought, just like home cooking is almost always better than anything you get in a restaurant. It's the thought that counts isn't just a cliche. Here's an example, I'm an older brother, and I kept all the cards my little sisters made me for my birthday growing up, and it's their favorite gift now as grown women with families to get the card they made me on that birthday back for their birthday a decade later. Because it shows I took the effort to keep it and cared that much.

  25. I grew up that way and my sisters are keeping it alive. The simplest meal, knowing someone made it and went out of their way to get it to you makes it taste the best. Recent example, I griped in our group chat I had to work late, out of nowhere older sis says she made slow cooker beans and ham, and she'll bring me some IF I can wait for her to make fresh cornbread to go with it...uh, YEAH, do all that. If it was me that's not a meal I'd choose normally, but it was tasty and it made me FEEL better knowing someone cared enough to do that. That's what modern stranger women are competing with. If she doesn't love me as good as or better than my own family already does, why the fuck would I invite her to join the family as my wife? That would be stupid, that would be a detriment.

  28. I'm 40, haven't inherited yet but it's all in my name. 100 acres of property, neighbors sold half as much for 2 million last year, so yeah on paper I'm a millennial millionaire. It's way cooler to have my 100 acres paid off free and clear compound in the country than a pile of cash to be honest. I'll never be homeless or have to pay for a home, that's a massive advantage, huge safety net.

And if you look back on that era, there's lots of literature and media (yes it's just entertainment but it reflects the society of the time it's made) where you see the idea of "She's just my mistress, she's not my wife.". Mad Men portrayed this somewhat. Don caroused and womanized, but he always went back to and loved and supported his wife,kids, family. And he kicked hoes to the curb, because why? Because they're flings, not his family. I'm not saying this is a good example, commendable, or even acceptable, but it makes more sense than what we have today, with the crazy divorce rate, the abysmal marriage rates, and the infinity supply of single mothers.

  31. My brother-in-laws previous wife kidnapped their children and fled to England where she has citizenship. There is no custodial extradition with the US, but the UK authorities granted her a restraining order against him that prevents him from even entering the UK. She's had his kids for almost 30 years with no legal recourse. He has GREAT-grandkids he's never been able to meet. That's the kind of education I got from other men lol.

You can live a great physical life in a hospital bed, paralyzed, unconscious, as a vegetable, but you say that's the same as having food, water, nourishment, it's all you need. The body can be fine while the mind rots in misery. The mind has astonishingly different needs than the body.

I really pissed off a beta high school friend of mine, because he basically said I had to 'man up' stop being 'controlling' and do my duty to love and support a single mother and 'grow my family'. I retorted that I want kids, MY OWN kids, and that now that I'm a bit older and wealthier, I can afford to buy new, so why would I buy used? He really didn't like that, but he's a single dad who firsr wife divorced him, second wife widowed him (tragic) and now he's looking for a new single mom lol.

All I'll say is doing similar actions at Menards, never has anyone but other men offered me help, and I always take it especially if I don't need it, because I understand it's a huge thing to go out of your way to offer a stranger help, that takes caring and initiative, and I'm learning to be a good receiver of caring. Women never offer that caring so it would feel weird to receive it.

  38. Thank God my state has none of that. Unless you are legally married, you can live together 50 years, have a dozen kids together, it means nothing, you're even less than roommates. A tenant leasing from you would have more property rights. Zero marital property, nothing common law, cohabitation isn't even a legal definition in my states laws. And divorce? You as a man can just file the papers and the court will divorce you regardless of the other partner, they have no say. You want divorced, boom, done, you're single now wether she/he wants to or not.

You have a house together, start looking because the state seized and sold it in your divorce, you're BOTH homeless now, equally, fairly, and YOU CHOSE IT. Retirement?   42. My brother in law had his kids abducted by his previous wife and they went to the UK. That was 30+ years ago, and he's seen them ONCE in that time. HE HAS FULL CUSTODY, but the UK doesn't extradite in custody cases, so he's just screwed. He has great grand children he's never met.

  50. FOR WOMEN, you should specify. For men that's not the case. I have a coworker who gave me a new lease on life when he started a new family at 61 years old with his early 20s wife. It made me realize I'm not on the same clock as women, I have actual time. I'm only 39 now, my best years are just starting as a man. Now to marry and knock up a 25 year old, here's to 2023!
