  2. Depends on the state, f your boss, skip all that union BS, go take a one week class to get your backflow device testing certification, you now have a license to print money. Find a local city with a mandatory backflow preventer ordnance. Look around, see those HUNDRED THOUSAND HOUSES over there, EVERY ONE needs their backflow preventer certified YEARLY by YOU, for $50 a shot, and the job takes 10 minutes. If I wasn't running a water treatment plant I'd be doing that right now. I've known guys that had that as their sole business, on their own, $100k cash a year with like $3k startup.

  3. The biggest Be your own man lesson I've learned in life is sometimes the best thing to do is NOTHING. I take charge of social situations by WITHDRAWING my attention. If the group VALUES me enough to ask what I think, I'll offer, but I won't volunteer because no one takes unsolicited advice, I SURE DON'T. Sometimes me NOT taking charge IS me taking charge, I'm watching to see if you ever realize you're doing it wrong lol.

Isn't it interesting how women value children so little now because it's SO easy for them to get kids, yet most men I know see children as the most valuable thing on earth because from our perspective it's something impossible to get because we'd have to deal with women to get them. All the men I know with tons of kids seem to hate women and kids, all the childless men I know, including me, desperately feel left out and want them.

She's like what do you mean, why would a divorce mean you can't date me? I reply, because it's proof right up front YOU DO NOT consider marriage a serious or lifetime commitment, if you did you'd still be married and not hitting on me lol. Wow, there's women EVERYWHERE...and they might as well not be there because they're all in earbuds, can headphones, sunglasses, I said hey, hi, hi, how are ya, great weather right? to dozens of people with no response before I gave up. It's the Midwest, I'm used to it being way more friendly, welcome to the Big City I thought. But yeah, I wonder that myself a lot, I spend all this time in the gym closed off, I'm in my own world with noise cancelling headphones, you could be screaming in my face you want to do whatever I want, I won't hear you.

  17. If I made that for a year I'd retire. My expenses are about $15k/year for my farm and home, and I'm debt free at 40. I'd work 2 years, save $300k of that and I'd be at escape velocity, and that's before interest lol. My taxes are the only expense that I could lose anything real by, and they're $1200/year, and I've already prefunded that for decades. I'm choosing to work now. I could choose differently at any time and retreat to my paradise and be FINE.

  20. I spent Christmas with my siblings yesterday and, interesting to note, not once did anyone's career or degrees get brought up once, because we were there for the KIDS. They're what everything is about so it was all about them. Until I have my own, they, my nieces, are my family future, so I'm all in on investing in them. Hey, it's a more noble cause for my life than just work/gym/try to get laid, right?

Tell that to men and its ALL they'll care about the product. This looks terrible, but got lucky wearing it last week so its on me for life now. This cologne is better because it got me more attention. Virtually all advertising to men is 'get this specific product, get pussy'.

  27. The step up is called inheritance. I went from $20/hr to 8 figure net worth, all I had to do was be the sibling willing to move home to care for dad that signed everything over to me. It's my birthright he worked his whole life for, now it's mine. That's the goal.

The sole way I would agree with him is my own situation, actually, I have built up a skillset and license level that's in extreme demand, water treatment, BUT I'm tied to this area because I'm caring for my dad for his end of life, he's 84. I attend to him daily along with working full time. I make $22.50/hr. If I could move anywhere in the US, I'd have a $50/hr job tomorrow, and I've been offered that. If I wanted to leave the US I could make 7 figures consulting, there are entire nations overseas building new water plants for millions of new people, the next century is an industry bonanza. But I can't access those opportunities currently. If you can move and it's shatteringly more money for the same work, that DOES make sense. If I could work from home for my same salary that would be a giant raise because I have a 30 minutes one way commute, ditching that would reclaim 30 DAYS A YEAR of just eliminated driving time to and from work, and the fuel cost. Math, there's lots of it. Cost/benefit analysis should be mandatory education.

Because otherwise you'd say spouse/wife/husband. It's A TITLE YOU EARN. Render it.   30. As a child of normal times, I'll be 40 in a month, I learned growing up that the thing about ridicule is participating in it is also a tacit invitation to BEING ridiculed yourself. That was understood. You don't dish out what you can't take. Don't be a clown if you don't want to get clowned ON yourself. And if you're being a cruel asshole to people, that give most people in their mind permission from you, via your behavior, to treat YOU like a cruel asshole, and that should not be a surprise or outrage to you, we learned to realize "Oh damn, they're right, I have been acting like a dick, you were right to call me out. I'M SORRY I ACTED LIKE THAT" and life goes on. No one needs to be canceled, no jobs have to end, no self-deletion necessary.

  31. I've been living with my 83 year old dad for several years now after his wife, my mother, of 59 years passed unexpectedly. I'm 40 and pretty much given up on family life, taking care of him takes a LOT of time and work, on top of a full time career, so yeah it's like that some days honestly, he's helpless, I get a giant 'sonny do' list from him, and it's like having a spouse with all the work and effort, and zero benefits. He pays me, quite well in fact, but it's not worth what I'm missing out on. DAMN ME for being a good man and a dutiful son. Here's to hoping a good person eventually helps out my life instead of being a disability in a world that doesn't appreciate dedication and fidelity.

  48. LOL, as the only brother of six sisters, my old school dad made me kind of despise women. He was a 101st Airborne Ranger, and all they had to do was fake cry and whatever happened had to be MY FAULT because his GIRLS had to be innocent, they're girls. I love all my sisters but they taught me so much about women it makes since I'm 40, single, childless, not really dating. I've also had a lifetime of hearing them tell me how they treat guys behind their back, and that was an education, wow. Women are terrible, I hear it from men and women.
