  9. I work in municipal government, but my budget is actual REVENUE, not taxation, we're the water department. We make and sell water and our customers pay for it, that's our budget. It's about $800k in revenue, and I've aggressively cut spending and expenses in the 2 fiscal years I've been Dept Director, this year I'll have about a $200k surplus. What's my reward for that, a bonus? Being able to buy something I really need? NO, my reward for being that responsible is my surplus money gets stolen my the city and used to go on a different departments books to balance their budget, and I get f-ing nothing. It's frustrating. And at the same time they're jacking my budget surplus, I'm also being told we can't afford anything and especially not raises or increased starting pay to attract new qualified workers, oh heavens no. I'm looking at the numbers, I know we can, stop lying to my face. If I got a performance bonus of even 1% of what I cut from the budget Year over Year, I can guarantee our expenses would get slashed even more, but right now there's no incentive because the more I cut the more I LOSE.

We're debt free homeowners so it was nice to get a small kitchen renovation for free, and I thank Trump every time I put stuff in the new cabinets I installed. Soft close drawers AND doors lol. And a pan rack! Biden never got me a pan rack.

  25. I'm not religious but I wear a necklace chain as a similar token, throughout the day I'm reminded by stainless steel on my neck to be restrained, keep yourself chained in, be deliberate. It's like I've heard about a yarmulke or similar hat/head covering, it keeps you looking up and reminds you there is something ABOVE you, no matter how good YOU think you are.

  28. Slaves were expensive as F. Paying hundreds of dollars for a worker, in 1850, that's like having a housekeeper today you pay a six-figure salary. Only the super-wealthy had slaves. I'm a farmer in the Midwest today, and NO ONE has illegal immigrant workers because who the F could AFFORD them!? The only way to make a profit farming today is employing your children at little to zero salary. If the people who farm my property had to pay salaries we'd be losing money, so we'd not be growing food. My farm feeds thousands on the global market, but if it's not profitable, screw those people, they can grow their own food.

  32. People complaining about cost...what cost? All these troops are already on the payroll, and it's not like they're getting paid by the hour lol. All the equipment we already own, it's not like we rented tanks and helicopters, the only real cost is the fuel and maybe wear and tear. These are drills, formations, and training all these units would do anyway, they're just doing them all at once together in one place.

  33. Water is solely a logistics problem. We've never used more than 1% of the available freshwater on Earth yet, and freshwater only comprises 1% of the water on Earth. Our supply of water is for all intents and purposes we can conceive of, infinite. It's just not where we want it or in the form we desire. I pull hundreds of millions of gallons a year from the Mississippi River for my water treatment plant and it's not even enough to impact it in the slightest. The flow is 300K gallons per second on a slow day.

Illegal immigrants have no rights, but must follow the same laws. You want protections, become a citizen. Service ensures citizenship?
