Really sick people in Korea need to go to work and school but a fall off a swing in mother of mine and they treat her like a negligent abuser and now this dad is evil cause the kid fell off stairs and needed stitches? Call tell the working population are not the ones having or raising the kids.

  12.  @zsofiabacsalmasi2511  you are misunderstanding culture. When a child is in a predicament of sorts the parents show up an apologize for not raising their child well. For example a case that made international news. Korean Air executive (daughter) had a fit in plane and was gosh awful by American standards to flight crew ordering the pilot to return to the gate and sent one of the staff off the plane in NYC of all places. Some on tape. I don’t know where homeland security was after 9/11 and the 80’s hijackings American’s are rightfully a bit sensitive. Then there was allegation company people went to threaten and bribe family. Big mess. The Korean public was outraged. She was convicted in Korea of part of what she did and of course as typical of the justice system it was overturned. But her father came out and publicly apologized for not raising her well. Basically they are taking the blame publicly cause it’s is just reflex to do so. My child is sick, it’s my fault. My child did something, it’s my fault. It’s also a measure of hope. If I change, which is easy, all will be well. From western standards it’s hard to find fault with a couple of new parents following through getting a developmental assessment after noticing or being told there might be a delay by another before the age range of 3-5. This child turned 2 last month in the western age system.

In the US they help with utilities, activities for kids, school supplies and toys for kids, run a food pantry, food kitchen, fight human trafficking, help with practical needs after natural disasters and much more.

His character would have done three years of manidatory military, if he had gone to college he would be there another 4 years then he would have worked for years to save money to marry. If she Is 46 in Korean years she is probably 44 in western years so it's not unusual for her character to give it a try. She is a lovely actress and laughing her way to the bank with your criticism. She's not hurting for roles or recognition.

  23. Every woman in that house got attacked or harassed. It the end it wasnt made clear what happened to the woman he tried to rape and then stabbed himself with her hand on the knife? There was abusive behavior in front of the daughter. It could have been a nice drama that showed how abortion effects the husband. But they had to make the lesbian character a person who had a twenty year old crush on a straight woman and then had her stab the woman’s husband? It was totally self defense for her and a bit suicide on the part of the husband. In all the scenes all we see is the rest of them. What happened to her?

  24. The floor is heated so it's quite comfy. In the west the floor isn't heated and the mattress helps keep people warm. Also there are no outside shoes used inside a Korean home so it's cleaner.

  33. This is one relationship that makes this series great. A true friend relationship and lifting one another up. Also see it with the guy who runs the stay House. Nice contrast to all the self serving behavior of the kidnapper and rich parents and usually odd competition Korean dramas are known for.

  46. Having watched several historical dramas I don't know why anyone would want to be royalty in Joseon? It seems every reign is like that of what any potential marriage partner or Henry viii went through. From a modern perspective it looks goofy how little control the actual leader had. It seems his brother went mad because his mother was dethroned and executed later all from the actions of court ministers and fellow members of the royal family. the ministers haven't learned from the past. It just seems like a lot of people punished for no reason. Who is left to support the reign? And one family member does something wrong and generations are punished. Very North Korea. Would like to see the entire episode on YouTube in case I miss the live broadcast.

  47. I understand the mother in the first concern. All her life she had expectations to earn money and have that all important son. And now that she doesn't have to worry about her In laws or husband to put expectations on her she now has to fight her children. Her children are thinking the best for her, but I think they have to get creative. Visit her in the market. Help her sell the fruit by working the stand while another sibling takes her to lunch with a few of the grandkids. They need to care for their mother on her terms. It's wrong to push a senior out of their livelihood and take control of their lives away from them when they still have to ability to reason for themselves.
