  11. I've got two houses, and my annual bill for both (gas and electric) is less than £2500 per year, so how can she charge £4000 for ONE? Furthermore I have a Nest system so I can control both when I'm not in one, or either. Saves a fortune.

  20.  @Brian-om2hh  You're lucky enough to have a charger at home. Most people don't have a driveway, garage, dedicated parking space and by your own admission do little mileage. Evs work where I live now (Norway) but the charging network isn't in place for such a large population as the UK at the current time and the lack of availability for home charging with so few having dedicated parking to set up a charger. I do have a charger at my UK house, but most aren't that lucky

  50. @Tapper1969  The point implied was that public services aren't affected by inflation, or have no influence on it. That isn't true. Public services require goods and services (or don't you think so?), they are subject to inflation and in many cases are in direct competition for goods and services with the private sector. I didn't say public services cause inflation directly by existing, but they are affected by it, and they can help fuel it through demand pull inflation, especially when a country is experiencing zero growth.
