why can't Musk invest in South Africa, he could do wonderful things if he kept his nose out of US and EU matters. So much energy and opportunity wasted!

I listen to this pod on the sly while at work everyday, Roland's tribute made me weep at my desk. As much as I "enjoy" this podcast I cannot wait till the day I no longer need to. Sadly isn't not on the horizon so this podcast continues to be so, so relevant and important.

The last time Trump tried to blackmail Zelenskyy he was impeached, this time it's on live television. How is this possible?
4
same, couldn't stomach it
4
don't forget, during Trump's first term the WTI oil price dropped to negative $37 ($-37) per barrel. 20 April 2020

spot on

Hmmm, Swiss neutrality. Someone correct me if I'm wrong but a position of neutrality favours the aggressor not the offended
4
And let's stop referring to Ukraine as ex-soviet bloc!
4
Is there still too much emphasis on conducting a drawn out war (which favours Russia) instead of looking for a knock-out blow? Moscow was undefended when Progozian was marching to the Russian capital.
3
Isn't Zelenskyi cleaning the corrupt house the previous guy left, it was rife under his term
3
I think everyone saw it coming

Slava Donbass, Slava Ukraini.

Tragic 2000 Russians die every 2 days in Ukraine when they could surrender or rise against their officers

From Francis' description today and I expand on it here. Biden and Obama failed Ukraine first time round, Trump cuddled up to Putin and empowered him. Biden is still asleep at the wheel and cannot stand up to Putin and is holding back Europe and Ukraine at tackling Putin. And Harris doesn't have the personality or an original thought on the matter. USA (Biden, Trump and Johnson) is complicit in the war lasting this long and hasn't given Ukraine the tools at critical moments to win. Can someone remind me is Israel enjoying their THAAD, US troops, aircrafts and pilots and support whilst committing genocide and not working to bring back the hostages?

Maybe the US should produce food that's edible in the UK and cars we want to drive, not hormone laden beef and Ford Rangers.
3
Great interview but sound quality makes it hard to follow, could do with some soft furnishes in the room
3
Free news with great content- it's not a lot to ask, how's your attention span?

I listen to this podcast everyday, this episode although far reaching from the regular "on the ground" formula has really hit the nail on the head, great forecast to the American psyche, the election, traditional family values and how they relate to the Ukraine war. Excellent work team and thanks to the guest speaker too.
3
Estonian PM should call out the names of the leaders, politicians and countries who don't pull their weight and expect others to defend them.
3
@richardwilson57 just don’t mention the sovereign wealth fund, or what happened to it. Where are all the Russian engineers, scientist, aircraft carrier crews? Oh yeah, in the ground!
3
Good work chaps, I particularly😀 liked the correct use of "innit" at 5.06
3
Unilever- another example of profit before ethics. Same to be said for luxury car brands, Porsche, BMW, Land Rover, Ferrari who sell and ship their wares to Russia-friendly nations and ports there they are then shipped in en-mass. Disgusting and disgraceful.
3
I can account for Neil's Yard cheeses they are all excellent! Dom, hmmm must try harder.
3
I think they are welcome but there is a training lag and compatibility issue with NATO systems. Playing the long game, no rush.
3
great point
3
I dunno but it's really pissing Pooh-tin off
3
I heard the helicopter wasn't wearing it's Hajib correctly and the morality police intervened
3
I'd love to see Zelenskyy say, "no Donald - come to Ukraine and see the destruction, hear the bombs fall, hear the sobs of the families that have been murdered and listen to the people who support me and my leadership". Zelenskyy won't let Ukraine get screwed.
3
It would be interesting to know how the Ukraine could put the fear of God into the Russians before their Spring offensive. Thinking of the Iraq and Afghan fleeing IS and the Taliban, they both had western weapons and training but ran away without fighting when the enemy reached the horizon. how can the Ukrainians learn from that and replicate it?
3
listen to Jake Broe, he quotes reports of North Korean that have already defected and attempted to go AWOL.
3
dude where's my Beriev A-50? where's your Beriev A-50 dude? dude where's my Beriev A-50? where's your Beriev A-50 dude? dude where's my Beriev A-50? where's your Beriev A-50 dude?

What's stopping Chinese soldiers or China forcing Uyghur to fight Europeans?

Still listening intently from Auckland NZ

great line !

too slowly

Dom brings up a point, should countries closest to Russia fear nuclear war more than those further away i.e. UK, Turkey, Spain. And the answer should be no. Nuclear war would impact (no pun intended) EVERYONE on the northern hemisphere. So the best defence to a nuclear war is a strong united front, not bickering like wimps, weak links.
2
Can we apply the "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" saying when it comes to ISIS's attack in Moscow? How about a single-serving friend? How about a one-nighter fling? Or a holiday romance?
2
but russia could retreat out of ukraine just as quickly
2
bureaucrats can lead
2
Regasification I think Dom
2
Heart breaking the story from Sudan, This crisis needs more attention and it has to stop.
2
Mark Rutte will be a terrible head of NATO, he's been a lot of the dead weight that's drawn out this war. a terrible decision
2
this must be some sort of Russian trench joke??!?
2
Sounds also like European leaders want to rely on France and UK to provide security that the US won't without contributing to it also. Sickens me to the stomach.
2
It's about time NATO revisited the non-fly zone idea, the early argument of fear of escalation is dead. Why rely on 6 trained F-16 Ukrainian pilots when there are hundreds across Europe? Its another drip-feed idea.
2
I sometimes get the impression The Daily T and Ukraine: The Latest have opposing views on the conflict and political affiliations. Roland was also on this pod recently, maybe the daily T is fishing for more listeners??
2
Ruth Deyermond's interview is really enlightening (even for regular listeners)
2
With the level of "help" Ukraine is receiving from the West there needs to be an open GROWN UP debate as to what the rest of the world will do AFTER it lets Ukraine lose and how the West will stem the further spread across the Baltics, Georgia and Poland
