I have a feeling they attack every 10 days with roughly what capacity they have to make these in 10 days - so they can continue such attacks indefinitely - in fact they will be able to do it more as production will increase due to more companies joining in as well as simple manufacturing efficiency.
6
So when is the next big offensive? At current speed Russia will not take Donbass this year!
6
@nuttywatty7443 Nah, once Russians have mobilized they will do quick advances once again. There are far too few M777 and Himars to have much of an effect.
6
@jjbiggmann5576 Umm, not first for Russia - they advanced inside Ukraine to Kiev in like 2 days. That is like more than 60km per day. They captured Kherson after like what - 4 days?
6
Well, some of it is. But a lot is truthful. I.e. Ukraine admitted itself loosing 1000 per day in Donbass alone. You usually would "lower" your losses so real ones are probably double. With 2000 per day on say all fronts, we have 60000 per month. Which is quite close to what Russians claim.
6
Yeah but no one would attack runway with a 1 million per hole missiles. Hangars with aircraft or similar make good target.
6
Ukraine can continue pushing - but so what? The attack is politically motivated for sure. Results matter. If Ukraine continues the push will they have results in say a week? Maybe few villages. Then Russians can counter attack and take back.
6
Its low everywhere. dozens of videos of UA troops. Videos of whole battalions disarmed. If your morale already collapsed all over the place, no need to worry about it collapsing some more.
6
Is it wise for so many troops to concentrate in Lisychiansk? I mean they will become liability even from logistic perspective. How Ukrainians plan to deal with that - or is it more desperation and crazy orders from the top "no step back"?
6
@fv5855 No one saw this supposed video of this supposed great Russia defeat - same as Ghost of Kiev. On the other hand a lot of videos showing UA equipment and their attack or defense show heavy use of trucks and armored cars provided by the west. This suggest that almost all of their Soviet stock was destroyed.
6
@N1315 Why would Russia end? They are winning a war in Ukraine which they should have started before COVID 19. Their conditions for winning are very modest while conditions for Ukraine are total military victory. US command some time ago said they do not see much of a chance of outright UA victory. Ukraine as country is totally devastated, a failed state with people running away by the million. How can they "win" anything now?
6
@kurtwicklund8901 Not really - there are many ski resorts near their capital - Teheran - i.e. Iran can and is indeed very cold in some areas. You can see snow capped mountains from the capital as well.
5
@marionschrotter7065 Pretty much any common plastic is quite cold resistant. We are not talking about Siberia here with their -60C arctic service vehicles - we are talking her above -30C. So no issues. When was last time you saw regular civilian cars have plastic shatter in cold weather? Me neither. My Toyota does not seem to "shatter" at under -30C. Note that -30C and already -40C is a big difference - not to mention arctic service of -60C (coldest rated).
5
Well, even in totally defensive war you need to counter attack a little bit to prevent your enemy from concentrating their forces. If you never counter attack you are done.
5
Sacrifices. They are desperate.
5
Reserves. Same as Stalingrad. Just send more.
5
Maybe b/c not even Live UA map shows that!
5
This is really strange - what is the aim of this in military terms? There is little chance to advance 70km to power plant or even more to take on Kursk. So take 10 villages? What for? Must be political.
5
They have less than 200 systems. Do they have ammo?
5
Actually without electricity it will be hard to do any weapon production.
5
No. It can just damage the roadway. They would need multiple missiles. The bridge is of little importance now give land links.
5
Congrats to Wagner. Lets hope this war ends soon.
5
These were grad dumb missiles. One could use Iron Dome style system but even the Jews would go bankrupt if all they did was shoot things down. I.e. it does not make sense to down grad missiles.
5
@AK-ns4kn Russian may be mentally in X century, but they state of mind seems to grant them victories and to these in XXII century defeats.
5
@StrawHat83 Not at all. I bet there are almost no Russian troops there. I would not be shocked if Ukraine punched into empty air - i.e. there are only screening forces there. Notice that few days ago UA forces crossed a river, went into town on the other side and NO ONE WAS THRERE! No one. So I expect more of the same - no one there.
5
@daffyduck780 Russian main goal is to stop NATO expansion - it is rather modest goal - not something that is difficult to do - all they need to do is keep pressure on Ukraine.
5
Lots of these needed for UA!
5
There is like zero confirmation of any aircraft downed over sea of Azov. Personnaly I see this as disinformation. I.e. No aircraft were downed. None were even there.
4
So what is jumping out of these automated vehicles - automated Ukrainians ;)
4
Much, much later. Russians are using very small forces and Ukraine is defending to the last man. Donbass should be all taken in 2 months +- 2 weeks. So that puts us into 2nd part of summer or even end of it.
4
I think it is mostly gray zone - same as that armored APC that went to the first line of defense - if you have an APC and you floor it you can get quite far.
4
Unlikely. Russians knew for at least 10 days of Ukrainian armor concentrating in Kharkiv. Also Russia had like zero forces deployed for at least a month - for at least a month Russia and allies have been moving super slow in Donbass. Question is why Russians moved out?
4
@rickden8362 LOL, but not even pro UA map shows they made it ;) We see what will happen but I am like 70% plus sure Ukraine will not last till next US presidential elections.
4
We seen some - they did push UA forces back - but we don't know for sure what is going on.
4
@p.arasit7179 Certainly it has proven vastly superior to Ukrainian reporting. I ignore all Ukrainian reports unless other sources confirm it - which is piratically never.
4
Moscow taken?
4
Finally NK has something others want to buy.
4
Dima has huge imagination. Traffic jam for 24h or less will not help UA. They simply targeted what they could. Rail line is porous. You cannot easily blow it up from underneath, energy will go through the holes.
4
Slim to none. Problem is Ukraine has no reliable weapons to take out these bridges with. Damage from HIMARS strike was so minor few people in a day could easily fix it.
4
This would be a risky, large operation. If I were Russians I would concentrate more on destroying UA armies in Donbass through encirclement operations. But on a scale of 100 - 200 km not far more than that. But who knows, Russia is not predictable.
4
Problem is there were no Russians on the banks of the river. There does not seem that the whole area has any ... Russians.
4
This info already outdated as Ukrainian troops surrender in Adiivka. Including coke plant. City is fully liberated.
4
Correct. These guys will fight till bitter end. And boxer wants to just advance his standing.
4
Question is did Russia only mobilize 300k or is it more than 300k? They can start wave 2 in January / February as wave one is ready for action. Another 300k. But is it needed? Or maybe better more troops but not needed than too few and needed?
4
@bdd2195 Why not? They can easily get insurance from non western countries. I.e. no interruption for India sales - insurance will be there.
4
@AK-ns4kn Yeah, but "deep push" was like 75km+ per day. This was like the "deepest" push ever in human history.
4
Finally! Khromovo has been liberated!
4
@Cornellzz12 So what - Russia is taking land slowly in areas where they want to take it. Loosing "extra" land is of only PR - and Russia cares little about PR - I mean they moved out of Kiev in 1 day not caring about what pp say. They do not care if some will call them cowards or weak. They just do cold military decisions. Finally Russia's costs in last 2 months have been next to nothing. So maybe they are planning to run this war for years, many years.
4
@philosophyintimesofcrisis7314 Because Russians live there. Is Kosovo part of Serbia? Land belongs to the people that live there.
4
Desperation.
