Russian defense forces have liberated 5 villages in the last 3 days. So what, if they do not develop their offensive till Oskil river.
2
Wow - Russians are on the move!
2
If bridges are small - they can be bypassed by pontoons quickly. Also I believe Russians simply moved out of that area - i.e. there will not be any counter attack as Russians simply ... left.
2
Maybe. There is zero confirmation of it - just some UA claims. But as author says, they may take it in the next 72h or... maybe not. We see.
2
There were 37m Ukrainiams. The 40+ number includes Russians in Donbass and Crimea. I estimate Ukraine now has at very most 26m people. Probably less.
2
Range is same as other NATO stuff as barrel is the same, so 30km for standard rounds and up from there. It's nothing special at all.
2
There is still no confirmation of a loss of A-50. Nor even damage to IL-22 - the images we have are from Ukraine... not Russia.
2
The total number delivered is over 200 since 2022.
2
Spot on. I expect a cut of at least 1 million. The more the west is sanctioning Russia the more everyone else sees it could be them.
2
So many ways to destroy Ukrainian forces in the salient. So many. Should they finish them X way or Y way or both?!
2
@mediumch Problem is Russians have quit using Izium as axis of attack at least a month ago, maybe even more. Like 2 months ago. Last attack from Izium was maybe 3 months ago. I think Putin is shrinking the operation. I.e. they do not have forces to hold as much land as they currently are holding.
2
Somewhat. A lot of lost aircraft would have had limited military value. Personally I think it's way less. Through i also estimate UA total of air worthy equipment as way less. Same for Russian losses. UA losses are higher but not say double.
2
@craigjenks9064 Few channels count units - which ones are engaging based on position / equipment use. Based on that they count what is not used - some say 2 some 3 - so at most 3 brigades are not used yet.
2
By 15th maybe they enter Pokrovsk. West is saying it is to be taken in two weeks so when it's not they can say Putin failed and is spinning.
2
I do not see much sense in UA invading Russia - where will they go? Do they think they can take Belograd? What is the aim other than PR stunt? Russia does not need to move a lot of troops there - just slow them down and draw them in.
2
Only for these that know. Most hail it as a victory. Besides, who cares Ukraine lost 10x as much - important is they killed few Russians.
2
@TrusePkay Sure it did - most recently with the Taliban.
2
I wonder why Russians for at least a month now, since Lisichiansk are doing very little and are just in the defense. Are they simply waiting for winter? Russian advances in Donbass are super slow. Front lines are manned by like no one. Why would they do this - do they want to draw Ukrainians into the open?
2
Both sides lie - Russians lie just a lot less. Ukrainian numbers are out of this world while Russian numbers are just high. We have far more video evidence now of UA losses.
2
@MrNeoEvolution Russia has way more artillery in the area and M777 can be taken out by counter battery fire. They are not mobile. Any defensive action with use of light infantry is heavily skewed in Russia's favor. Massive UA casualties.... In war of attrition it's another gift to Putin.
2
@Olegstuff21986 For sure they would play for TIME.
2
But what does it mean they destroyed 4 S-300 systems - like 4 radars? Whole battery of S-300 is a lot of vehicles - plus they have lots of spare vehicles. Ukraine started with something like 250 S-300 systems. These were spares and assigned to batteries. Unknown number was unworkable.
2
@nativesugarshack9328 They can try to swim across the river to Lisychiansk.
2
We will see first mobilized units in few weeks. I expect things to calm down by around November. Russia is unlikely to start any offenisve operations this year. I expect winter offensive of 2023.
2
Remember the massive gains Russia did at the start of the war? That is how. Also large numbers of troops. I am wondering WHY Russians pulled so many troops from Ukraine. What is the reason for this?
2
@Mandolin_Rain So whom is on exercises in Asia? Ghosts? Who surrendered? Why we do not see these pp - did Ukraine Nazi kill them? Russia won the war - the fight right now is how much Russia won.
2
Russians are now speeding up. We may finally see real collapse with Russians moving 10km per day, every day.
2
Lol. Why not 3000 or 30,000😆
2
I bet North Korea increased ammo production to absolute max many months ago anticipating they may have some sales coming. Russia of course should by ammo and any useful drones.
2
This was expected at the beginning of this year. Expected deliveries sometime in 2024 if Ukraine lasts that long. They need to as Ukraine has no air power left by that time.
2
Regular cars are not mobile enough to do the trip. You would need something 4x4. These are not in huge supply - so feels wasteful.
2
Poland said not to Leopards.
2
Russia needs to send in the army units that have conscripts. "Emergency use" - or declare war. Mobilize. I have no other idea how they can continue to advance with so few troops. US mobilized for Vietnam.
2
Well, even if UN run the referendum the results are already known for both regions. 95% of Ukrainians moved out so vast majority of what is left is pro Russian.
2
@bjorntorlarsson From a hill you can see easily enemy movements. Sure drones and such help, but from a hill you have quite wide field of view & its always available and cannot be shot down. Its like having an island is better then aircraft carrier for area control.
2
There are not too many of these - its masses of light infantry crossing on boats - there are videos of that.
2
@MrRoyalbeers Not at all - it was a huge network - 250 systems for S-300 alone. 13 batteries of S-300 deployed and spares for another 13. 1000s of missiles. That is a LOT of stuff to trash. Good thing west did not send much in a way of replacement.
2
Seriously? Ukraine plans to attack across Dniepr when Russia goes for Kharkov? How stupid UA is?
2
@wacsonlawand7567 Russia is behind China, US, India and Japan. Germany is behind Russia. As per world Bank. So Russia is world's 5th largest economy. Economies listed by size.
2
@KSmithwick1989 PPP is economic size. They are behind China, US, India and Japan. So they are 5th largest economy. In few years should be 4th as they are catching up to Japan. We are NOT looking at pre war but 2022. Russian economy is posting best growth in Europe - so we want latest data.
2
@KSmithwick1989 They are ahead of Germany World Bank (US) Russia is at 5.33 (2022) while Germany is 5.31 (2022) This will be more in 2023 as Russia has predicted growth of around 3%... while Germany is well under 1%. We will see this continue. In the next few years - maybe up to 10, we will see Russia pass Japan while India will try to pass US. Germany will be passed by Indonesia. Essentially Asia is passing everyone in the west & Russia more and more is classified as "Asia".
2
@KSmithwick1989 The 2023 data will be much better as Russian economy posts healthy growth while Germany stagnates. We are not talking about per capita - just absolute economy size - or one would start saying that China is also spread around as it has over 1.4B people. One could point out Ireland is like record holder with PPP 2x that of US per capita. We are talking total size - Russia is growing fast and as per my source is already bigger. Other sources that count "shadow economy" have Russia ahead by 10% - like 0.5B. Of note is also somewhat healthy growth of Russian economy vs. German total stagnation. Heck, looking at last 15 years Russia is the fastest growing economy of Europe! And that is with sanctions. Imagine no sanctions... Russia would be close to US in growth.
2
@ragnarthegr842 Well, the ball is still at play. We see what happens. It is strange that Dima noticed like two weeks ago there is lots of UA armor in the area of Izium and Russians did not.
2
@marionschrotter7065 Build in Ukraine with what exactly? They have no people, no electricity, no money etc.
2
Transnistria needs to be ready. Ukraine can indeed invade. Have plans for quick mobilization & defend every meter of your land.
2
This is the end of Z man. Trump spoke the truth. Z man lives in a division. Z man is a product of European propaganda. The EU should take care of him and the Ukraine project.
2
We have them now but not widely deployed yet.
2
I guess Russia can respond spade for spade and explode some stuff inside Ukraine using saboteur / terrorist groups. Its difficult decision on how to respond - respond spade for spade or respond with say standard military stuff like shelling etc. Russia can always simply deny explosion or sabotage inside of Ukraine. Question is... what to target?
2
Russians are not interested as they are winning. Price of peace is very high.
2
Maybe - depends - either they are in terrible situation or are actually in good situation. Depends how many troops they have left. If they have large reserves then yes, UA is going to get smashed bad. But do they? Does not seem so.
