@jlvandat69 If your guess is Russia will lose the war you obviously have no clue whatsoever. Your own government has just acknowledged Russia already won the war.
2
@john.8805 You should go and look up the greatest 1000 inventions in history if you don't think Britain has been punching above its weight over the past few hundred years.
2
Not what the experts say. Why do you think HIMARS has become almost irrelevant in Ukraine? Because interception reliability has got so high.
2
Sure. They have thousands of aircraft and have lost around a hundred since the start of the war but have only fifty pilots left. Do you also believe in the tooth fairy?
2
Looks pretty deliberate propaganda to me
2
@VisibilityFoggy Shortly before this invasion started, Zelensky was talking about joining NATO and acquiring nuclear weapons (in Munich October 2021). Kamala Harris was at the same conference and raised no objections. Putin drew the logical conclusions.
2
There is a recent video of Shoigu inspecting dozens of brand new T90s and Russia still has thousands of tanks. Obviously they could have put some of these in a parade.
2
@Scriobh Might be a different video if you only saw a dozen tanks. Dunno some years they have lots of tanks some years they don't. Not sure what the pattern is. Russia blogosphere speculating they would be criticised if they put lots of tanks on display instead of actually using them. Anyway nobody with a brain disputes the Russians have thousands of tanks so the whole discussion is pretty pointless.
2
Huge land grab by Israel. Apparently that's fine within the US "rules based order"
2
I'm not convinced that Africa can control Europe but it's certainly true that a more balanced judgement (which you're never going to get with Zeihan) would acknowledged the huge change in geopolitics that relations between Saudi Arabia and Iran are improving. Cutting out the petrodollar brings advantages to both oil producers like Saudi Arabia, Russia and Iran and oil consumers like China and India. Although Zeihan would love for the US to be able to flick the sanctions switch at will, the rest of the world says no.
2
@brad6523 I thought Zeihan was pretty interesting and read one of his books until I started hearing about stuff I know a lot about then I realised he's full of BS. Like 80% BS.
2
@Gargoiling Maybe I'm biased, I speak French, German and Russian but to me, if someone is telling the audience about Russian politics and can't even pronounce the names of the most famous personalities - or even large cities like Voronezh then you know automatically he has no credibility. I was impressed the first few hours of Peter Zeihan content I saw but when he started talking about stuff I actually knew something about I realised he's simply a neocon conman. Out of curiosity I looked into his track record and it's not great.
2
@Daniel-CMelinte In what sense is Scotland looking shaky? There was already an independence referendum, the preference to stay in the UK was overwhelming. The EU is much more likely to break up than the UK.
2
@relaxletgo7105 What is the economic implosion in the UK? Have you actually compared UK growth over the past few years with EU countries? It's pretty similar. Germany is in recession right now, the UK is not.
2
@frommeralfred Sure France and Italy are net payers but Germany pays half on its own. There are lots of reasons to be outside the EU and especially outside the Euro. The tendency is for anti-EU parties to get stronger over time in all of France, Italy and Germany. So if you think nobody other than Britain will ever leave, I'd like to point out few people expected Britain to leave either.
2
What like those famously low birth rate Somalia and Afghanistan?
2
Here's a clue on his great insight - he can't even pronounce the names of some of the most important personalities in Russia - hardly an obscure, unimportant country. Also, check out some of his earlier predictions - it's not a great track record.
2
We know that's you Peter posting from your fake account
2
@TorianTammas I speak French German, Czech and Dutch, also at a basic level, Italian Greek, Slovak, Polish and Spanish, I've lived in Netherlands, Czech Republic and Germany. What lack of knowledge about the EU are you referring to precisely?
2
@mbak7801 Total myth which came about because firstly, in the first two years of the war, the British had a lack of artillery and the French had relatively more - since pre war they had a much bigger army and secondly Lloyd George hated Haig and created the French are more competent narrative to reign in Haig. In reality, both French and British went through some crap generals before they found good ones and by the end of the war, the British army was pushing through Belgium whereas the French did almost no attacks because their morale had broken in 1917. In fact, the French army got close to falling apart.
2
Yes this is obviously true and what's more everyone in Britain knows it. But it's typical of Zeihan's takes on anything outside of the USA. Confidently delivered superficial rubbish
2
Ukraine is likely to collapse this year. Talking about stretching the war on for five years is just ignoring Ukraine's massive manpower problems and the fact that its economy has already been destroyed.
2
@Quickshot0 Ukraine can only produce stuff which can be done on small scale and distributed, nobody sane is going to build a large munitions factory in Ukraine. Especially now the Oreshnik demonstrates that going thirty metres underground isn't going to save you.
2
What you're telling me covid didn't come from a wet market after all but might have actually come from a lab funded by the US gov doing bat research on similar disease just a short walk from where the first case was detected?
2
I was initially impressed by Peter until he started talking about stuff I know something about then I realised he's 80% full of B.S. but with very slick delivery and plenty of confidence.
2
@triumphstagdriver Lake Wanaka (80% sure)
2
@booopwappp1323 Nah North Sea oil will be around for decades yet. Demand will keep increasing and the price is climbing. Yes the easy oil is gone but there's a lot left and the value is increasing. The point is this report was covered up at the time it only became public decades later. They lied then, why would anyone believe they're telling the truth now?
2
@darthkek1953 If the Democrats picked Kennedy, they wouldn't be the Democrats :P If they don't switch from Biden soon it's going to be too late. Seems all the other choices are pretty divisive too. Robert Kennedy might be the best candidate by far but he'd tear the party apart.
2
So about typical for most of his videos.
2
@baxtardboy His background is Stratfor which is a CIA linked consultancy. He's basically a propagandist for the Washington establishment with a history of making outrageous and unsubstantiated claims. I assume Washington would oppose Scottish independence in case an independent Scotland went in a NATO sceptical direction.
2
Wrong, the Moriori are not Maori. Genetically quite different and they don't consider themselves Maori.
2
Plenty of videos online of young teenagers and guys who look 60 being pulled off the street in places like Odessa and being bundled off to the army. The Russians have paraded prisoners like a 15 year old conscripts and a 60 something year old conscript. Ukraine is now looking at conscripting women. Meanwhile, Russia still only had one mobilisation phase.
2
Numbers don'#t lie but Zeihan has the numbers wrong. Demographics, health and energy - the situation is way better than he makes out. Far from Scots moving to London, Londoners move to Scotland to escape the crime and housing costs.
2
@michaelbell362 If you think Zeihan's takes on American politics are deranged, wait until you hear what he thinks about Ukraine :)
2
@pyrioncelendil If you think the Russians are getting their shit kicked in, perhaps you should widen your sources beyond Western propaganda
2
LOL
2
Russia currently has the drone advantage everywhere except around Pokrovsk. According to teh Ukrainians themselves.
2
Do you have any evidence for this half trained Russian narrative? The Russians burned through some expendable Wagner/Storm Z convicts early on but nowadays? Russian casualties have really dropped off this year.
1
Genuinely funny how the USA thinks it's the "good guys". The Biden administration started this war by insisting Ukraine should join NATO despite even its own ambassador warning this was crossing a red line for the Russians. Also staging what George Friedman called the most blatant coup in history by overthrowing the democratically elected government which for completely sane reasons wanted to keep Ukraine non aligned.
1
If (when) the USA turns to shit, Russia and China will be busy doing their own thing. For Russia that's the Baltic, Black Sea and Caucasus. For China, it's the China Sea, Taiwan and Africa. They're not going to need to or be powerful enough to get heavily involved in the Americas.
1
Except that these numbers come from the Ukrainian ministry of truth and their NATO allies. The Russian soldiers think these claims Russian losses higher than Ukrainian losses are amusing. Who are all these dead Russians? Mediazona can find around 40,000 from the entire war. And look at when they died - current losses are running at a trickle. The really high losses were when they were throwing expendable convicts into the Bakhmut meat grinder. Where Russia was firing 90% of the ammunition so what do you think Ukrainian losses were like there?
1
@niklasklein8704 Not ten times cheaper. US defence companies have enormous stock valuations for a good reason.
1
Nothing more ridiculous than Americans, representing a country formed by colonising calling for the decolonising of geopolitical enemies.
1
Defend themselves from whom? Those huge German armies on their border? Or the Russians on the march to Warsaw just as soon as they can take Sieversk after three years of trying?
1
Yeah like what Trump had first time round. He's learned his lesson.
1
@waxwars9183 Which is why the US military can't reach recruitment targets. Even though they're realised woke commercials aimed at women don't work and have started targeting white men again
1
@joshjones6072 The exact opposite of what's happened over the past thirty years.
1
@JohnnyMotel99 Putin took over a country which was falling apart, you don't have to like him to admit he turned it around.
1
@kurtniznik8116 It's really hard to get Russian citizenship. Not like Western countries where parasites can just turn up and get social welfare.
1
@SamuelClemens-o6q Why do you think Russia is running out of money? They've just raised their defence budget for next year.
