  3. They are talking about Ukraine's minor advances in the south, but not mentioning Russia's advance in the north, where Kupiansk is nearly encircled. More decisive things are happening in the north. As for still saying that Ukraine needs more artillery shells, did not Biden say they are short of artillery shells, and cluster bombs would do the job ? In short, the expert is covering up - as he has been all along. Ukraine's elite force supposed to exploit a breakthrough has been thrown in, to make the breakthrough, while the units meant to create the breakthrough have been withdrawn to save them ! That is passed off as stroke of genius. The war is lost for the west.

  4. Regardless of Bell saying the counter offensive is about to gain pace, the real situation assessment was given in Vilnius. Zelensky went on a desperate begging episode to NATO to save him by admitting Ukraine into NATO so that US troops could be sent immediately to save Ukraine. The US reaction was to veto NATO membership and say there is no road map till Ukraine wins. These actions prove both Zelensky and the US know the war is lost. Ukraine now has to soldier on, as the time window before the muddy weather sets in is short, and they have to gamble and throw in the rest of the brigades and hope they can get more money from the west for next year.

  5. Decisive months of battle ahead which will lead only to Russian gains. Russia has the initiative, Ukraine has lost too many soliders in Soledar and Bakhmut. Soledar has fallen, Bakhmut is encircled. Even the Americans are advising the Ukrainians to pull out of Bakhmut - so they have some save troops left for American training ! Once Bakhmut falls, Donbass will be completed with the capture of Sloviansk and Kramatorsk. Then the Russians will be ready to move to central Ukraine. This expert is trying to live off the past, he recounts Russia did not succeed in capturing Kiev, he claims Donbass front has remained static etc. We can see the effort to gloss over and try to present a brave face for the west. Russia has neutralised the Himar led Kherson offensive. Zelensky's tall talk of taking Crimea by last December was just vain boasting. Russia on the other hand can mount a major offensive. For Ukraine, this time round, it will be difficult to defend. Ukrainians forces have been attritioned and depleted in the Donbass, so they are not in a position of mounting a significant counter offensive. The paltry western tanks will make as much difference as the Himars. The west is staring at the writing on the wall, but cannot admit it. Ukraine cannot push back Russia the second time, Russia will prevail.

  6. The UK is not a major power after WW 2. Overnight its power disappeared, the Soviet Union and US emerged as superpowers. The UK got out of the EU and is now desperate to show relevance . The only way it can think of doing it is by showing extreme zeal in aiding the US. It is a vassal. Its decision to send tanks is only symbolic, 60 tanks from the west is not going to change the outcome. The war in the east and south Ukraine is already lost, and a few tanks can only prolong Ukraine's slow death, but that is all.

  11. Better than say Russia should have invaded Ukraine earlier, it is better to say 'Ukraine should have returned to neutrality earlier and avoided fighting a proxy war it has lost'. Now, the west has given up on Ukraine, it is asking Ukraine to negotiate. Ukraine will have to cede territory and accept neutrality. There is no other way. Russia will not ceasefire till Kursk is completely retaken, and all of Donbass is taken.

Ukraine's independence was on condition it gave the nukes back and it was a neutral state. Ukraine unilaterally reneged on the second, so its sovereignty is cancelled. Get it ?

Why would NATO respond hard after the event of a nuclear strike on Ukraine, when NATO countries will be incinerated if they respond ? The US will save its skin. At the beginning of the war, he said he would kick Russia's backside just as Britain and its allies (France and Turkey) kicked the Tsar's backside in the 1856 Crimean war. It was a crude comment, unworthy of a Defence Minister, the sort immature Zelensky would make. Russia is a superpower since the end of the world war 2, and it is impossible for Britain or NATO to kick Russia without the Russians breaking the teeth of their opponents.

The amount of land, 27% or 20% does not matter, the problem is Russia has also reduced whatever remains to an unviable rump dependent on EU aid. Get it ?

  36. Who directed Ukraine to go for Kursk and why ? What was the objective ? The US directed Ukraine to go into Kursk. The reason is to offset the setbacks on the Donbass front. The objective of the Kursk offensive which is unstated was to capture the Kursk nuclear power plant, and then force Russia to negotiate. It would have been difficult for Russia to risk a fight at a nuclear plant. But Kursk city was too far, and the Ukranians got bogged down in some settlements, and Russia hit the supply lines from he air. They have also now fortified the nuclear power plant. So Ukraine cannot march onto Kursk city. Meanwhile Ukraine's scarce manpower and equipment are not available for Donbass, and what it sent to Kursk is being destroyed.

The Lithuanian fellow says NATO is the most powerful alliance in the world - the one that competed to run away from Afghanistan 2 years ago and the one which did not have guts to send troops to Ukraine after encouraging it to fight Russia. The weakest countries boast most about NATO. The main presenter is so pompous she tries to put on a positive spin about everything. She says Finland and Sweden are the ultimate signal of unity - but Turkey held up the celebration (look at her wicked choice of words). The meaning is Turkey is a spoiler to NATO group think.

  40. NATO will have to call a meeting in Spain and have a unanimous agreement. While Article 5 says an attack on one will be an attack on all, it does not say the response will be unanimous. Article 5 is written by Americans and it carefully leaves an escape clause for itself - it says members may respond as they like including and up to war. But it does not commit all members to war. If the US does not want to die, which would be the case, none of the Europeans would not have the guts to fight Russia without the US.

  41. The condition that Russia allowed Ukraine to become a sovereign state was that it would not join any military alliance. This was enshrined in Ukraine's declaration of independence. However after the US instigated coup of 2014, they changed the constitution and put NATO entry as an objective. They reneged on an agreement which is a flagrant violation of the international rule of law. Hence, Russia decided a correction was needed. Ukraine as a sovereign independent state poses no threat, but joining a military alliance that is there only to threaten Russia naturally brought a reaction. Ukraine is a suicidal failed state, run by US implants after a coup.

  49. Ukraine was assured it would be independent only if it gave up nuclear weapons. It had no choice. If it did not want to give up, it would have remained part of Russia. Get it ? No point claiming if only Ukraine had not given up nukes.... Next, the Budapest Memorandum did not foresee that one signatory, the US, would engineer a coup in Ukraine in 2014 and usher in a govt. that would conspire with the US to threaten Russia with NATO bases. The Budapest Memorandum says in case of any disputes on security, all four parties would have meetings to resolve it through negotiations. When Putin asked for security negotiations in 2021 for Russia, Biden declined. Hence, the US, UK, Ukraine reneged on the the Budapest Memorandum. The US thought Ukraine could defeat Russia by arming it. By 2024, it became clear that Ukraine had lost, so the US would like to go back to negotiations. Since the US, UK and Ukraine spurned negotiations to avert war in Dec. 2021, it follows any future negotiations will be on Russian terms. Those terms are : Ukraine has to cede what it has lost AND it cannot be in NATO. There can be no NATO or EU peacekeepers in Ukraine, as they took part in the war against Russia. If Ukraine does not accept, Russia will not negotiate and the war continues. Get it ?

  50.  @rodolforios2830  Russia entered Ukraine because Ukraine unilaterally sought to violate the condition of neutrality it agreed to in its declaration of independence. If they had not agreed to this condition, Ukraine would not have got independence.
