Lots of circumstantial evidence; her testimony was a disaster; leaving the country pointing to consciousness of guilt and Doug Lloyd's high conviction rate make me believe a guilty verdict could happen. Fwiw, I like this D.A. It's about a guy's life and you can tell it matters to him. Juries might agree.

The idea of their entire evil family plotting his death is too horrific to imagine. The kids will be 18 in a few years and can reclaim their real name.

  24. So glad to see your post. I feel the same. When Jennifer said she wouldn't do anything differently, it took my breath away. And I realize there are too many children with parents who don't show up, J and J didn’t even try. Plus, imo, guns are a horrific aspect of American life - treated too casually. Hard not to connect them with a decided lack of soul. (Churchgoing NRA members are a case in point.) Peace.

  37. He definitely looks worse for wear, but there could be myriad reasons for that. He did tell his wife - multiple times - in a single phone call that he is guilty. It also looks like him in the bridge video. I'm absolutely not saying that these are proof, but equal weight needs to be given to inculpatory evidence well as exculpatory. Seems what's most important is finding 12 jurors who aren't predisposed to any POV in advance: it'll be tough - unless they change venues.

  42. I had no opinion when this trial began. At this point, the points of doubt are too many to count. Not sure if it's an actual conspiracy, but the prosecution seems almost vindictive and definitely closed-minded in its charging of Read. The judge's bias on behalf of the prosecution is clear, too. I'm sorry for J.O.'s family and loved ones, too. The truth seems far away.
