Bums me out that the full episode is behind a paywall now.
6
Associate Supreme Court Justice Brett "I like beer!" Kavanaugh has entered the chat.
6
That little jump cut at 0:55 - I suspect that unlike his meltdown over the 60 Minutes interview, old Bankrupt Donnie doesn't have a problem when his buddy Leon actually edits her speech.
6
I too will vote for anyone the Dems put up because I'm not voting for them. I'm voting against Project 2025 and Trump and the people using him for their own ends that he'll bring with him. I just wish they'd picked someone else to be Biden's VP in 2020 and had been building that person up to run in 2024 instead of putting all their hopes on Joe Biden. I hate to say it but I think were hosed.
6
@ttacking_you Generally I agree with going high, but in the face of Trumpism I'm okay with the insults. But I'm vulgar asshole.
6
I've got two words for you - false flag. Especially now that Hegseth was confirmed.
6
Don't worry, they won't.
6
I didn't see it as a dig about the size of Trump's junk at first, just Trump's weird accordion-hands gesture. But if it was a joke about his little buddy that's even better.
6
From my experience many conservatives always talked a good game about being the party of family values, morality, and respect while being the worst people.
6
Kakistocracy - government by the least suitable or competent citizens of a state. But yeah, a constitutional shit show sums it up pretty well too.
6
Just because Christie's not running any longer hopefully won't mean he's going to stop beating up Trump and his enablers.
6
There's a vulgar and racist term that I've heard others use that I suspect describes Time Scott pretty well.
6
I was just looking at that numbers from to '00 race the other day and noticed the same thing about New Hampshire. Ralph really screwed the nation with that campaign.
6
These videos have become one of my favorite things from The Bulwark.
6
@bagofholding Exactly! The deep ignorance of his voters is wild. They really proved Carlin's "imagine how stupid the average person is" joke correct.
6
We've been moving forward an awful lot these past few centuries regarding technology and knowledge, but when it comes to the ways we treat each other it seems like we mostly go in circles, repeating the same old mistakes. Even when the class system changes we continued to adopt the problems of dominance hierarchies. I don't know what it's going take to stop that (other than proof of there being extraterrestrials, and even then I don't know if that would do more than add another seat at the table) but sadly I don't see it happening any time soon. Sure wish it would, though. It would be a lot easier if we could all just get along and play nice with each other.
6
1.7% and dropping lower every day.
6
Apparently all you have to do is say that you accept Jesus as your lord and savior and have a priest forgive them for their sins every now and then and all's right with the big guy. Helluva a religion you got there. Oh yeah, and no pets because apparently animals don't have souls. Hard pass.
6
Yes she is!
6
Like Charlie said, Christie, as much as I dislike the guy, needs to stay in there as long as he can because he calls out Trump better than anyone else will. Haley is weak tea compared Christie's double-shot of espresso performance.
6
@hw-rg7gn cult/political grooming -- potato/potatoe (thanks Dan Quayle). It's all part and parcel of both groups.
6
And not vote for him again.
6
I'd qualify that as partisan Americans. There are those of us who don't have a team, are not fixated on sports, and are sick of the political foolishness and theater.
6
Talk about being a regular show. It has it's own theme song and everything.
6
I don't know if he's fully in the closet or not but anyone who gets that upset abut the LGBT community and topics almost always has some feelings that they're repressing.
6
You're confusing immigration with a second Trump administration.
6
That's a signpost up ahead: your next stop: the MAGA Zone!

When they tell you who they are who they are is deplorable. If they couldn't vote for a Democrat or for Kamala or whatever fine, then stay home (like the Democrats and other people who voted for Biden in 2020 did). Or if they simply had to vote then there were several other choices on everyone's ballot. But they chose to vote for an adjudicated sexual offender and convicted felon. If that's not deplorable I don't know what is.
5
The fact that there are so few problems for the people spreading lies and driving extremist narratives is a big part of the problem. Freedom of speech but also consequences for spreading lies an misinformation should be the standard.
5
Even if he isn't we'll have to listen to those who idolize him just like we do with Reagan Republicans.
5
The only exception I have for that is if they have an medical degree and are accredited, practicing health care providers. But even then the patients should be the ones making the actual medical decisions, not the medical provider and certainly not some unqualified judge or politician.
5
@danielwallin8178 Game recognize game.
5
Can't spell felon without F Elon
5
Trumpublicans
5
That's funny. I just wrote the same thing in another post. Great minds!
5
That's so MAGA.
5
@MarcosElMalo2 My impression is that from the time of FDR up through the Civil Rights movements there was a period of growing social and economic equality that Reagan and his "government is not the solution to our problem, government is the problem." ideology sought to overturn.
5
I don't know about the Boomers but being from Gen X most of the people I know from my generation are pretty self aware and considerate about trying to do the right thing. But maybe that's just the kind of people (liberals, progressives, and other non-specific counter-culture individuals) I gravitate towards regardless of which generation they are a part of. Maybe the more conservative members of the Boomer/Gen X groups are more like you describe, in which case that seems like more of a Left vs Right thing than a generational thing.
5
Anyone who likes people bullying other people is a crap human being whose parents did a terrible job raising.
5
@Tahir_Ali The OP is referring to the article Tim is talking about at 4:05 from Jonathan Turley complaining about Biden's great great grandfather being pardoned by Abraham Lincoln during the Civil War for getting into a fight and injuring the person with a pocket knife. Turley suggested that President Biden is genetically predisposed to commit crimes as ‘something of a family trait acquired through generations of natural selection’. So if that's true of Biden due to his ancestors than we should hold others to the actions and guilt of their ancestors. The OP is being silly and making fun of Turley's terrible argument.
5
I beg to differ - I absolutely do NOT want a celebrity, an autocrat or a dictator in the White House, Congress or my local political offices. Maybe a celebrity would be okay if they were doing it from a sense of civic responsibility and not out to stroke their own ego and enrich themselves. And they'd need to govern from the center and not have fringe ideas and extreme ideology. I like my food to be spicy - not my politicians.
5
@danaeward3260 The system does reward the awful much too frequently. Maybe Ted Johnson is right just in the wrong direction.
5
@curtisblake261 Religious and Conservative zealots the world over make life miserable for the rest of us. Liberal zealots aren't great either but there seems to be a lot fewer of them and they usually want things I can get behind like freedom and equality for all, so they're generally less of a problem for me.
5
The definition of the psychological form of projection should have Trump's picture next to it.
5
Hell yeah! She's very much the total package - smart, successful and sexy. If that makes me a sexist jerk then I'm a sexist jerk who is voting for Kamala/Whoever (still hoping it's Mark Kelly).
5
I hate to quote W but in this case - bring it on!
5
It's deeply messed up that the people who enforce the laws are so often above the law. Understandable but deeply messed up.
5
It's wild how proud she is of being incompetent.
5
It's the Trumpublican party now - all the way down.
5
True believers. God help us.
