Definitely not funny. And I'm sure there are some exceptions to this, but I think that most anyone who is smart that is taken in by Trump's shtick either isn't really all that smart. Or else they agree with his beliefs and, like Trump, they are fundamentally deplorable people even if some of the time they act nice in order to function in society. When you get them alone or with like minded people that mask drops and they'll say the most horrible and degrading things.

BTW - agnostic not atheist...maybe even a Deist.

And while I know Mr Cohen is talking at 40:37 about president Xi when he says "...we've got a problem with a autocratic leader who is aging who sees himself as having a historic mission who is prone to make some bad decisions um and I think we've underestimated the extent to which ... he's made some terrible economic decisions uh he made some terrible decisions I think during COVID..." but it sure sounds like another person who wants back in the White House. Adding another negative to the equation will only make things worse.

George is the best sales pitch man in podcasting - he's right there with the products being advertised. George Conway - showing us how it's done!
5
This is one more reason among many others. It's bizarre how all the problems with Trump don't disqualify him with his enablers.
5
And a both convicted and self-described sexual predator. Pathetic that more voters didn't see these things as disqualifying.
5
It's easier to understand if you realize that many people suffer from cognitive dissonance and are being fed a steady diet of fast news and lazy opinions about things. There's also he problem that it's easier for a lot of people to demonize things they don't understand than to take the time and try to figure it out, developing a nuanced position about a complex subject or about things that make us uncomfortable. And this second problem is something that exists on both sides of the political isle which makes people on the other side of the aisle crazy and only drives both sides further apart. And now for what some will call the conspiratorial part. Western nations have adversaries that have organized groups in their government that are actively trying to sow discord and division in our countries. Our intel communities do it to them as well so turn about is fair play - but it's part of the problem and it works.
5
@AlerieHightower They're the real problem. Even if/when Trump goes away they'll still be out there just waiting for someone even worse.
5
I hope we get to see a reckoning for all of this in a couple of years.
5
This should be title of his biography. Or at least what goes on his tombstone.
5
also critical thinking skills or any deep or even mildly complicated thoughts.
5
Maybe by a bit, but I'd argue we need to change what we're spending those defense dollars on more than increase the funding. We have too many other things that the federal budget needs to go towards in addition to defense spending. So unless the fed is going to raise taxes, increasing defense spending any appreciable amount is going to be tricky.
5
It's one thing to "hold your nose" when someone votes, but if it makes someone feel ashamed to vote for a candidate that's when it's time to either find a third party candidate or just skip that election cycle.
5
As do a number of the Red states.
5
But how do you know Otto Hahn, Fritz Strassman and Lise Meitner weren't possessed by demons? (I hope people get that was a joke, but it's YouTube so I'm adding this disclaimer that that was a joke)
5
That's because you are correct. Pro-Trump patriot is an oxymoron.
5
1:01:48 - "We'll be back next week when the polls will be totally unchanged because we live in a terrible country full of terrible people" - JVL summed it up with that closing comment. Trump supporters are the worst and undecided voters aren't much better.
5
@jaimepatena7372 There you go. Thanks for proving my point.
4
Or much of anything else.
4
Nikki Halley would probably try to argue that there was never even an OJ trial.
4
Kind of messed up that she's doing this right as her son is starting college, but that's narcissism for you.
4
Two-Time Trump Voters -- The Truth=what we already believe. This is one of the reasons why I have no use for these people.
4
Well this was a depressing episode.
4
You're an odd Dem if you'd ever consider voting for Haley over Biden. She's awful!
4
Faux infotainment
4
Janet Jackson.
4
I hope the Democrats grow a spine if they get back in power and finally hold Trump and all his stooges to account.
4
They aren't taking on personas - those are their personas.
4
Cults love their leaders and go along with pretty much anything they do and say.
4
"It’s a Mr Death or something… he’s come about the reaping…" "Hallo. Well don’t leave him hanging around outside darling, ask him in."
4
It's wild that he admires Reagan. The guy was awful and so many of the problems the US is dealing with today can be traced back to his administration.
4
Do unto others before they do it to you.
4
I gotta post it because it's so good -- "...You've got to remember that these are just simple farmers. These are people of the land. The common clay of the new West. You know... morons."
4
I don't think the SCOTUS needs to be expnaded but I agree about term limits and enforceable ethics rules. And Biden should impeach every one of the sitting justices that lied about not criminalizing abortion during their appointment testimonies with Congress. The problem, of course, is Mitch McConnell who would just block any attempts to reform the court or rectify what's happened. The Democrats really need to win back the Senate and the House.
4
She's also a successful woman of color. I'm pretty sure she's heard it all many times before.
4
self-delusion, jingoism, projection, ignorance.... it's a long list of pathological problems and it's been a lot longer than 8 years for most of them.
4
You're wrong because you are using absolutes. There might not be many good, decent professional Republicans, but you can find some of them on these videos. And there are plenty of people who have a fairly common mix of good and bad characteristics most of us exhibit regardless of the way they vote.
4
My state went for Hillary in 2016 so we tried. But it's what happens when there are so many gerrymandered districts and wide-spread voters suppression combined with the Electoral College electoral system. The fact that Hillary was the other candidate didn't help either. A lot of people really didn't want a Clinton back in the White House and didn't vote because they didn't think Trump would actually win. They didn't make the same mistake in 2020 even with as unpopular as Joe Biden was.
4
The rest of us hope so. Too many Republicans fall in line and vote for the party out of a sense of civic duty.
4
I curse and swear like Joe.
4
"...as soon as this was brought to my attention..." so Kristi Noem didn't write her own book? I'm shocked - SHOCKED! The inability of people to be honest about having their memoir ghost written for them is very lame. But how did that even get in there if it wasn't part of the notes the ghost writer had to work with? She really would be a great running mate for Trump - she's just like him.
4
"Me? I like the quiet" - That's not to say that I don't like some people and enjoy being around them (in small doses). But only because it makes going home and being by myself with the cat such a wonderful thing. I don't think I'll ever be in a serious and spend-lots-of-time together relationship with a partner ever again. I enjoy my own company way too much. And I don't have share my take-out food with anyone when it's just me or worry about what we're watching or listening to - or not.
4
That's what MAGA Republicans do now. Sam and Will talk about this at 5:13. It would be funny to see what kind of meltdowns and hyperbolic vitriol would come out of them if Democrats started doing the same thing.
4
I know I keep saying it but it's bizarre how the polls are still so close. I'm really hoping they just aren't reflecting the actual voter sentiment in the country and Harris/Walz win by huge margins in both the popular vote and, more importantly, in the electoral college. And of course I hope both houses of Congress go Blue too.
4
This is one of the things I've been writing - It's not just Trump and Project 2025 but all the enabling authoritarians he'll put into power that scare the hell out of me. Voting Blue no matter who because that's what we have to do to save the country for me and you.
4
@MAC-op5fc if it's a Midwestern state it's at least mostly lily white. There's some diversity in the big cities but that will be about it.
4
Lindsey Graham was always a disgrace.
4
"I love the poorly educated" Donald Trump, 2016 (applies to folks of all race, creed, color or gender)
4
I don't care how old Biden is - he's not an adjudicated rapist and convicted felon. Trump shouldn't be a candidate let alone have a chance in hell of winning the election. The people still supporting him are the worst of us.
4
I know all they have are polls, but polling is so bad so often that it's practically pointless to be using them for these discussions.
