  2.  @kinkaito5433  Transport for London are replacing end of life buses with EV. It’s also something you see throughout the U.K. Stagecoach are also moving to EVs. The electorate voted for the Mayor. Meaning ULEZ has a democratic mandate. There is or has been a website called Optical Turnkey they are/were very anti ULEZ but I kept an eye on the number of subscribers. They had fewer than 18k so not a great amount of support. In the meantime we have people sabotaging infrastructure. Not just vandalism but sabotage.

  11.  @polla2256 Scotland has had 20 mph zones. Many U.K. mainland cities are going the same way. Makes it much easier for delivery drivers. Means being slow enough to find house numbers, especially in the dark. Could be worth doing an experiment. Pick a house number a few streets away. Then drive there in the dark looking for it. Also best remember a delivery driver can spend more time looking for numbers than at the road.

  15. 20 mph hour limits have been there in Scotland. Some of those for decades. That’s were the data came from to prove they improved roads safety & cut NHS cost. 20 limits much safer when having to look out for house number. Take a look down your street how easy is for delivery drivers to see the numbers. Especially at night. 20 limits now spreading rapidly in Kent.

  30. People who think ULEZ is illegal should take their complaint to the courts. Around 2.7 million people in London. If even half think it’s illegal just a pound in the hat there could be a million pound. More than enough to take court action. Why aren’t people putting money where their mouth is ?

  32. Shoplifting pensioners have been a problem since at least the 1960s. Very possibly long before then. In the days of the local paper pensioners often appeared in the court reports as being up for shoplifting.

  45. Didn’t HM Gov change the the law to make Councils outsource. So the only way a Council can keep their direct workers is to prove it’s cheaper than outsourcing.
