Stating that the defeat in the Napoleonic Wars was a cause for the Franco-Prussian war is a different beast. Especially since Prussia would ultimately be one of the winners of the Napoleonic Wars. It would be fairer to say that the French public wanted to restore lost territories, so we would be back to French revanchism.
